Hey guys! Happy Sunday. Today i was privilege to deliver a sermon in my church (youth Sunday). Later i will be dropping some tips how i was able to stand in the whole congregation to deliver a sermon without actually fidgeting or shaky voice. I am forever grateful to God . Introversion is not an excuse for remaining ordinary. Introversion is the best personality trait.

Introverts and the Social Networks:

Social network can serve both as a bane and blessing for an introvert. As an introvert, I have been able to weigh my "comfortability" with different social platform and have reasons to back my findings.

FACEBOOK: This particular one is a nightmare for introverts including me. From the word "FACE", there is already fidgeting on the part of most introverts. Secondly, considering that most people found there are your friend in the "real" world and will not hesitate to make post especially to your new post or picture. It is incumbent for you to acknowledge their post at least with a like. Anyway, I realize the facebook platform shakes my wit and render me "less happy" most time. I first off all deactivated for a time then finally deleted it totally. So far so good, I am glad I took that decision.

NAIRALAND: Ok. Honestly, you have more control on what you want to see. One good attribute of this platform is your identity is hidden under a username. Your friends and family will hardly find out your next post. Also, It is a faceless community which is an "Introvert El-Dorado". So far so good for me

TWITTER: Another social platform paradise for introverts. Faceless and intuitive best qualify this platform. Most introvert like deep and short thoughts penned down in writing. So this is an opportunity to grow our intellect by following only those things that matters. In summary, we have the key in our very own hands.

WHATSAPP: Our phone numbers is likened to our physical address. Meaning it is very personal to us. So we take good care to involve only those that will make us comfortable and not necessarily draw us out from our comfort zone. For example, I have not been in touch with a colleague since when we parted ways in the University in 2010. But recently, he got my contact and was throwing the "what", "where" questions all around me. How am I to deal with this situation, I asked myself? But anyway, I handled it well.

INSTAGRAM: This is "hellish" for introverts. It goes against the introvert tenets of humility according to my understanding. The platform was designed to show, or should I say, intimate the rest of the world with what you have or as the case may be, what you dream of having. I have never opened that platform personally, for I see no attraction.

These are just my thoughts. Some may be flawed and some may pass the validity test.

I can relate to the verbal abuse thingy and the issue of not having friends, most times it's frustrating, so much that I go online in search of friends but due to my picky and careful nature, I hardly get a permanent one and even when I do, I get bored easily and then I stop picking up calls and replying texts. And for the life of me, I don't know why I do it.

The thing is not everyone uses whatsapp (i kinda dislike whatsapp) and i don't see any purpose whatsapp can serve that this thread can't serve. Someone coming into the lounge for the first time can read from the first page to the current page but this can't be done with whatsapp. By the time we create a whatsapp group, this thread will become useless because what you will be seeing is phone numbers. Why do you think we need a whatsapp group?

Home sweet Home! Glad I found this.
Me in summary:
1. I hardly initiate a conversation with strangers.
2. I don't know how to keep up with friends so I end up losing them.
3. My room is my safe haven. My pc is my companion.My phone is my fortress. NL and SDK are my resting place when am not studying.
4. I can't remember the last time I visited any of my acquintaces,friends or coursemates even though they have been complaining.
5. They always want to visit me but I dread those visits because I will have to struggle to keep the conversation.
6. For the past 2weeks now, I have gone out only at night to buy fuel or snacks. Am in my room all day(Ps: No more lectures,its revision month)
7. Even during school days, I miss my lectures some days because I can't just imagine myself amidst people.
8. I can speak to a crowd fluently so its not inferiority complex.
9. I can't even keep a r/ship because i get bored of the affection and encroachment into my personal space.

Happy meeting people like me.Am sure it's gonna be a jolly ride here.
