Hi everyone its been a while someone posted here, hope u all are cool. Just wanted to know if there has been anyone on the F4 category who got a visa appointment date recently(What was Ur priority date)? @ VO please explain how the dates on the visa bulletin works, does it mean the dates on the bulletin are the ones being interviewed for that particular month or to be interviewed after that month. Sorry I am asking but Ur answers would benefit me. Have missed u all especially the VOs. Cheers

The visa bulletin lets you know which cases are current - once they are current they become eligible for interviews. The file still has to be received and an appointment made through the embassy, so sometimes it can take another month or two from the listed priority dates.

Hello everyone. I have a question for the V.I
My mom went for her interview yesterday&was given the normal white paper that her visa has been approved but she got a call yesterday evening again telling her to come back next week for another interview or verification.
Please what does that implies,is it that her visa wasn't approved or what

Hello VO,
I got interviewed yesterday, and visa was approved. But when i got home, i realised that the original copy of my attestation of birth was not given back to me my the interviewer. Was it supposed to be given back to me? Dear VO, if your response is yes, How do i get it back?

If she has to come back for an interview, then some issues were uncovered that will have to be addressed before the visa can be printed.

All of the original documents that we have are returned at the time of the interview. If this is a document that you sent to the KCC, it is possible that we never received it. You can email the consulate directly to inquire about your specific case and have them review the file for any original documents.

Hello VO, my interview for a fiance visa has been scheduled, and its a few weeks away, but I noticed that since the status updated "ready" on the 9th of July it got updated on the 29th of July again. Is everything alright? I'm just paranoid.

Thanks in anticipation of response.

Just show up at your appointment with the information you were informed about when the appointment was made. If anything changes, you will be contacted.

As we tell applicants during the interview, it can take up to 10 business days before your passport is available for pickup.

She got there yesterday and was told to go print follow up form 211 G. Please how long does it take for all these

It takes as along as it takes for us to receive the requested information.

That's the point. Nothing has been requested from her.
They already ask her to come collect her visa, only for the embassy to call her back again for follow up. She has submitted the follow up for but nothing was requested

This statement is unclear. If she was asked to come back for an interview, then that's what she has to do. She was provided information on how to contact the consulate about her specific case.

If you have not met in person, it will not be reaffirmed. This is a requirement of the K-1 visa.

Your mom will need to get in touch with USCIS to surrender her green card and permanent resident status; in the future she will have to apply for non-immigrant visas to return to the US.

hello VO, thanks for always trying to attend to people's enquiry despite your tight schedule, please I need verification on marriage certificate, must it be from registry? or it can be from any other court in Nigeria, like Shari'a court of appeal or a society group certificate like Muslim society, Nasfat n Co. and pls if it happens to be from the later apart from registry ,would it leads to petition not process at Uscis or petition not granted or even visa not granted if at all it scales through all that and interview booked.. thanks for being a great help for us.

The wedding certificate will have to come from a government body acknowledged by the Nigerian court systems. Registry are the quickest and easiest, but the Islamic courts are also acceptable. Unfortunately we wouldn't be able to accept a certificate from a society group.

After getting married they would have to file for the IR-1/CR-1 visa. They could also file for a K-1 fiancé visa ahead of the wedding which could make the process run more smoothly.

Thank you so much, can he file after the wedding in US without coming to Nigeria or what do you advice because the health challenges of the spouses require him to want to stay
