A friend of mine submitted his italian visa application with his family at vfs on the 16th of june 2016 for holiday visit. He already has one beligium visa which he has traveled and come back before the visa expired almost 2 years ago. He applied for an italy visa early this year and he was given. He traveled to italy and come back again at the given days without exceeding. Now he has applied with his family for a tourist visa and up till now there applications are still been processed at the embassy. What are his chances of getting the visas issued and secondly, why is the delay in the visa processing? Is this the new system?
Re: Italy Visa by Lucky4real28(m): 8:42pm On Jul 27, 2016
He will get the visa..problem is italy embassy takes time. Tell him to be patient, provided he once had a schengen visa in the past and never overstayed...he is quite on track.

Wow. I cant hold my excitement. I finally secured Italy schengen visa for Tourist. I submitted 17th of June. I kept patience for long because I kept tracking still nothing from the VFS office. I nearly call the Embassy why the delay but I kept hold of my patience and finally it paid off LOL. I will be going to Europe. I apply with a friend but he was refused. I do believe travel experience help me a lot because I have been to Turkey and South Africa and I got Mexico visa but dont use it. I like to ask question. Since I stated I will be traveling on the 20th of August on my flight ticket. Can I travel before that date maybe 10 of August? I will appreciate your answer. I wish you guys good luck in your visa application.

@browncube. I think you must wait one month until you got message from the VFS office. I will keep the thread update on my trips to Italy and France. It so unfortunate. I was given just only 10 days.

Give them enough time when you submit, if traveling September 15th, apply August 1st. Because they are slow and when you don't give them enough time, it gives them a reason to denie you afterall your travel date is past.

I think your might be right, use conference next time, they consider that more. Why not put in for UK, they ll grant you a visa provided your documents are legit and you earn well.
Teed89:
I don't know what to say concerning Italy right now. They like to deny single male applicants a lot. I submitted my application for over a month back in June. I was denied that information provided in intended stay was not reliable. I have been to about 5 countries. Now I don't know if I should reapply or apply to another countries. Which other country can I apply that has better offer ? As someone mentioned Ireland, what does it take?
Re: Italy Visa by Nobody: 9:04am On Sep 27, 2016
Pls judge this for me: I submitted visa application at the embassy on Aug 19th without DOV I was given Sept 2nd for my visa collection, I went that day but I submitted my DOV and affidavit of sponsorship, and I was told to come back 21st of September, I went on 21st I didn't even see my file and I was told to come back on 30th again, what do you think is the issue, though it for student visa.... Pls does this delay me I will be deny, cause I have other things to do but Italian consulate Lagos is holding me down....

Thank you Lucky. I will see what I can do to that. I'm tempted to visit U.K. this Christmas. But do you know soon I can reapply for the Italian visa ? I just want to go for vacation for 2 weeks next month.
Re: Italy Visa by Lucky4real28(m): 4:01pm On Sep 27, 2016
I think it's same 6 months wait; if you really wanna go to a schengen country. Use Netherlands, a friend got his and didn't take so much time.

First, what is DOV?. Plus Italian embassy isn't know for fast processing. If your passport is ready for collection, you should get a text from vfs stating so, or you track your application on vfs website.
