Hi all, i'm a preggy mom to a 22+ months old boy. I used Doctores Pa ra ti, and Del Sol hopital in 2014 to have my son, but ive been hearing funny stories recently about how the doc's letter has been rejected by the US Embassy here, and how Some Nigerians have misbehaved there and all, and so, Dr Monticone and Dr Martell no longer accepts Nigerian International Patients. And if this is so, i was surprised to see the Doctores Ad on this page. Anyhow, I am open to using any other Doctor or even hospital, shebi na to born healthy pickin?? lol. But Since its been a while since i came here, i was hoping someone would pls give an up-to-date info on the reality on ground. As i would love to go to El-paso sometimes in January 2017. Hello house, omodaddi is back after a long nairaland holiday, though I have being reading the threed but cldnt write anything due to issue with my email that I just resolved. But I wonder why nobody even remember to ask after me. Anyways, I have a long epistle and will download here for others to learn something... I travelled in April, used Dr E/Oakbend. Had my cute baby in May @41 weeks plus, normal delivery. After baby came out, Satan wanted to show up, but proved himself to be the most high. There was this blood flow dt refused to stop to the extent that doctor was losing hope and saying I would have to be taken to the theatre so as to check my uterus for any abnormality, 18 tablets of cytotech, another injection just to stop this blood bt nah. Suddenly my bp dropped from 140 to 80, bt it was taken care of imediatly and after packing a full nylon of blood, here came relief.There was planning for blood transfusion with the option of an iron shots depending on my blood level the next day, bt thank God the later was applicable as God shown himself. Lesson; Take your heamatinics/prenatals as prescribed, it helped me. Fast forward to discharge day, peadiatrician came, checked baby and said she had to go tru one Echo test, else we were not leaving the hospital.....This was to confirm she wouldn't suffer from heart hole as she cld hear some sound there. Come and see fear plus d fact that we din't want to stay extra day because d person to do the test wasn't around. Anyways, Echo was done o and our baby very okay to go home. It has not ended o; we went for peadiatrician visit, baby was fine, her blood sample taken for some repeat test. About a week later, peadiatrician called us that she was called from the state to tell us to go right away to texas children hospital as an abnormality was detected from her test results depicting some metabolism disorder so another confirmatory test needed to be done imediatly. Na so we carry ourselves go there, not knowing that's wat they call emergency o. They only took blood and urine samples and we left. Though we asked for our bill and they said it wasn't ready, we saw bill after a week and guess wat we saw: over 1k usd for hospital and about 200usd for doctor. We look each oda face, we nor fit cry. As the outspoken lady that I am, I started calling them to tell them we cnt pay that much, that our baby wasn't sick bla bla bla, they then said it was d emergency thing that really brought up our bill. I actually stood my ground to the extent that a panel was set on our case, bt at d end, na same same o. That it's a norm in texas dt such cases are emergency and must be taken care of imediatly dt we were only making mouth because our baby was fine.....we sha accepted fate later by asking ourselves the big question ' what if..............' We are back home and enjoying our new life with our bundle of joy....glory be to God. Hello house, sorry if I've quoted anyone. Just cldnt figure out how to make a new post. So I found out abt NL just b4 I left for houston. The original plan was for a family vacation. Booked apt and paid without stress. A few days to our apt, my husband's passport hadn't bn returned by the French embassy. So I had to re-schedule our apt to abt a month after. Good thing this happened cos I found out I was pregnant just b4 our interview if not it would ve been/looked like a case of misrepresentation (after reading thru dis thread). I'm a very frequent traveler and our interview was uneventful. I was abt 5wks pregnant. Was asked purpose of travel, told d VO twas for vacation. Asked if we wld b seeking medicals. My husband said me and our son might but he won't. He didn't wait for her to ask further b4 he told her I was pregnant and we might decide to have d baby there. She asked how far gone and I told her. Then she asked if I knew hw much birthing in the US cost. Told her I had done little research and it should be abt 1.2m. She said ok. And approved our visas. And gave the normal advice dat if we decide to have the baby there we should pay up our bills and keep all our receipts. So we decided to have the baby there after getting a clear pic of the cost and all. P OE was a breeze. CBP didn't knw I was even pregnant. Asked hw long our stay was for. Husband said he was staying for 2wks but we (mum, son and I) would be staying for 3 months. She asked y n he told her cos we wld b having our baby there. Then she stood up to see my bump. Asked y and husband said twas his personal decision. She said ok. Just said she cld see d 1st baby was born in d uk. Dat was all. Stamped us in for 6months (B2). I didn't come wiv any fud so there was no agriculture or secondary inspection. Spent less Dan 5 mins wiv her. Have a friend in houston, who helped with some of the findings. I used oakbend and Dr Ezekiel. Lovely doc. Had an awesome experience wiv her. Didn't stay wiv my friend. Rented 2 rooms in a 3 bed house. Had d whole house to ourselves as dy had no oda tenants throughout our stay. Paid 850 per rm per month. (So I'm suprised everyone is paying ova a thousand) stayed in richmond. Abt 15mins drive from d hospital. Met a no of pple dat asked if I was on NL. I wasn't but dat made me to start reading. I started wiv d part whr some guy came to ask advice abt his girlfriend birthing in d US and had a wife at home. This woke d amebo in me and I started reading. Read from part 1-3 (there was no part 4 den). But I got hooked. And realised my visa interview was smth to celebrate (note, this wasn't our 1st visit ti d US went for our honeymoon 8yrs ago) but didn't qualify for Dropbox as twas more Dan 2yrs since last visit. Thou the visa was issued in uk (used to live there). Got to houston last wk in dec, had my baby in feb. And came back 1st wk in april. Got visa for baby. Paperwork for baby took abt 2wks. Adding baby ticket was easy (said dat in my 1st post) Sorry for d very long post. Tried to make it as short as I cld. I was one of d ghost readers dat was munching and saving nos *covers face* and everytime anyone mentions ghost reader I feel bad. But tnk God I've bn able to share my experience too. igetam: The previous letters sent from 1993 to 2014 are no longer sent because the Embassy now requires a letter from the doctor. A new personalized letter from the doctor is being sent starting in 2015 up to today. Both the doctors you mention usually do not accept new patients because some Nigerian patients did not want to follow what the doctors are required to do under US Standard of Care and they did not want to be liable or risk their license. The doctors you mentioned are not the only doctors at Doctores Para Ti in El Paso so International patients are still accepted. There are also new and better accommodations available at El Paso and transfers from form A are accepted. 8 Likes |

Ehen, aunty firsttymum and aunty kaylaychi see one example. I actually came across the website when I was looking for accommodation in Switzerland earlier ds month cos the hotels there were  Eventually changed my mind and went to Milan but I kept the website in mind so that I will explore the option when I visit South America next year. |

cheldas: Yes you can. I think u will add supporting documents like letter from your doctor etc and they will consider ur case b4 approving it. You can do that from the appointment confirmation page too |
