Thank you so much for your prompt reply. Seems like the instructions are different from one country to another. After checking the link you provided, I realize applicants in Nigeria have different set of of instructions from applicants in the Congo.

Are you genuinely going for conference or you just want to use that to get visa? Because conference is not a guarantee. When you have a genuine reason to travel, apply and ccome post transcript.

O Boi! How far I don hang o, I don fill my DS-160 form with an email, I tried to schedule an appointment and the porter revealed "username or password is incorrect" so I decided to use another DS-160 form with a different email address while trying to login as to book my appointment *missing text*

After filling my info 2 book the appointment the Porter produced a command stating my info is in their database so I cannot progress with the new email address and DS-160. Wetin I go do because I no fit continue?

Your first sentence is not true at all. You get a two year US visa no matter where you apply from. Even Canada. So far you're presenting a Nigerian passport, the visa reciprocity rules between Nigerian and the US (which by the way is 2 years) stands, regardless of the location of application.

Remember, a permanent resident of a country is not a citizen of that country, he/she remains a citizen of their original countries but just has the right to live in the country that granted the permanent residence.

i disagree...a Nigerian permanent residence in Canada gets 10yrs visa if approved and that is it..i have 2yrs visa from Nigeria before we relocated on a permanent visa status here in Canada late last year and my wife has never applied for US visa before in Nigeria...she just went last week and her visa was approved for 10yrs...why will they even give you 2yrs visa in Canada when they know in the next 3yrs you would have gotten your Canadian passport as a citizen and drives to US without Visa...

In my case, I don't need a US visa given that I have a Canadian passport. I am trying to help someone get a US visa and that is why I posted my question in the forum.

Some folks actually seek these info to all good intent for friends and family members in my opinion. However, the BULK of persons seeking this help for FRIENDS are either doing so for themselves or for some 'agenty' purpose. So, no beef, we know, we watch! I believe overlord77's post for laughs above is in tandem with and reflects the second category of persons

In a nut shell can someone please enlighten me how a 24 year old unemployed graduate can migrate legally to the united states/Canada. thanks

Either conference or tourism, na same chance you get. They still deny peeps going for conference. If you have a genuine reason to go either to visit, for tourism or whatever, apply and be honest in your application. Btw, I dont know any website to search for conference.

I got a visa to South Africa but after booking my flight, I got an emergency and I needed to cancel my trip to South Africa. I want to apply for a US visa and I don't know if not using my SA visa will affect my chances at the US visa in anyway.

Hello all, please I would appreciate your kind advice. I was recently denied the b1b2 category visa purpose was to attend a conference. applied as single, no travel history and also stated I had a relative in the US. I intend to reapply but I need to be guided properly, how soon can I reapply in this case,moreso what corrections should be made do I still use same purpose conference or simply put visit will they contradict each other please help.thanks
