Consider the following.

In 1year you only added 400Mw
Therefore in 4years you will probably add up to 1,600Mw because there will always be sabotage

Factor in our present governments incompetence and poor economic decisions
We can then subtract 800mw from our anticipated 1600mw

So in 4years you only end up adding 800mw to the national grid as opposed to your 10,000Mw campaign promise.

Still more than what pdp added in 16yrs

What I have found out about Nigeria is that we pontificate and criticize a lot without offering cogent possible solution and advice. Yes, Nigeria is a potential giant that is playing in the league of the dwarfs. Nigeria is a very difficult country to govern, whereas we posses all the necessary ingredients to be a powerful and prosperous nation but, we are handicapped by ethnic, tribal and selfish interests.

Anyone in government seriously working hard doing the right things for Nigeria soon find out that road
block is already there.

The worst are the citizens at large, we criticize and condemn but given the same opportunity we do the worst.

Let's try and encourage the little serious effort some of these ministers are making rather than rubbish them all together. To make a serious impact and to wake up this sleeping giant, it will take a benevolent dictator, you can't play nice to impact Nigeria, you must play tough, strait and be transparently honest.

It is only difficult to govern because some people are intent on managing a very diverse nation within a unitary framework instead of making use of a federal system.

The better states in Nigeria have learned to be progressive whilst the others are dependent on the resources of 9.

Sometimes I wonder after reading some reports. Is this really a news and we should celebrate it? Well you cannot give what you don't have. Why do I say so? Check the profile of most of the this administration's minister and see if it corresponds with their ministries. Does he know how electricity works? Talk of housing, what about that of ICT? We must get it right

As minister, his job I not to repair faulty turbines or carry out maintenance. His job is to manage the brilliant engineers in the ministry and maximize the use of the skills. If BRF can manage a complex state like Lagos then Managing 3 portfolio should be a piece of cake

I will forever respect Barth Nnaji and GEJ

When GEJ was able to beef up power to 6000MW inspite of sabotage and vandalism , some rocket scientist from one small corner of the country was ranting.

Instead of joining to condemn vandalism under GEJ then, they celebrated it
Instead of to help defeat Bokoharam, they bought pages of newspapers and blogs to amplify their activities. Buhari himself never attended any council of state meeting to proffer solutions.

Now the chicken have come home to roost, let them work their way out.

Also speaking, the Minister of Power, Prof. Chinedu Nebo, stressed: “We are pleading with those vandalising our gas pipelines to give Nigeria a chance to enjoy what this administration has done. Today we have 6,000mw generation capacity, if there is gas, and we can evacuate up to 5,500mw.”
Today we cannot even generate 3000MW not to talk of capacity to evacuate the power
Vandalism did not start today

Nigeria, in February 2016 achieved over 5000MW of electricity which was the highest in the history of this country.

Please tell us when your GEJ beefed up power to 6000MW.

The entire Nigeria with population of around 180 million uses 4,000 megawatts of electricity .Do you know that no American city uses less than 20,000 mega watts? For example ,Portland ,Oregon with population of about 2 million uses 25,000 megawatts.
Nigeria needs at least 80,000 mega watts to be on path to developed and industrialized nation . If Nigeria couldn't have uninterrupted electricity during oil boom, then when? Oil is running out ,and the clock keeps ticking on the self proclaimed Giant of Africa. Do you think Nigeria would even be developed and industrialized even if 46,000 mega watts is added to Nigerian grid to make it 50,000 mega watts? This minister feels accomplished about 400 megawatts , then your guess about the future of Nigeria is as good as mine .

...whether na 100 or 300 my electricity supply has improved....IPOB haters like u can continue spewing your usual rubbish till kingdom comes.

I read the news of the electricity situation getting better every week yet nothing is felt on ground. One can't tell me I'm the only citizen of this country this is happening to. Why are all the achievements I've heard of only on the pages of newspapers and never felt? If more people suffer the same fate as I am right now then who is the government trying to deceive using obviously paid writeups?

Do we have to break it down like A for apple, B for ball?

Power capacity is different from power generation, TCN never peaked more than 4000MW under Barth Nnaji or entire PDP rule.

Today the theoretical capacity is over 8000MW

Hypocrite!

You know about South Africa but are always on the defense when it pertains to GEJ. How many megawatts did he add? And where did you see the celebration?

At least, it will never be said that they didn't do anything at all about the situation. You're always quick to spit fire without proper reasoning. Yikes!
He has added nothing just semantics. What is our national installed capacity on May 29th 2015 and what is it now? That is how you should start your narration.

This is what u get when u put square pegs in round holes. Mr Fashola is a lawyer so I don't blame him when he sees 400 MW as a monumental achievement and enough to provide uninterrupted electricity for years

I did a research for a friend recently and I discovered that what we generate in terms of electricity from all the modes available in Nigeria isnt up to what is produced using solar alone in America in terms of MW. And our minister of power isn't ashamed to say we have increased power generation by 400 mw. This is what only one solar station in california produces.

The government has to encourage private investment in the power sector and task them with generation of electricity from renewables especially and also ensure the current structure of power generation and distribution functions effectively.

Debts owed gencos must be paid in order to enable them generate the much they can the resources available right now while transmission and distribution must improve in order to cover the national electricity grid.

When the current system works effectively, it will be easy to convice investors to come in and invest their hard-earned money, especially in renewables
