Goddys I can categorically tell u that the hiGHEST my law firm pays is 36,000 naira a month. i am no longer in Nigeria and my work is a non law related work, but you can easily earn 300,000 naira in 2 weeks depending on your work hours. So bro law is not so booming, except you lucky.

As a student i make like 2400 dollars every month in u.s ....lol. But after govt tax, health bill, parking, this one, eating expensive food, wearing expensive clothes, paying for heat, saving for 1/4 of my fees (since im actually on assitantship) etc and etc. The money has almost finisehd. So that 1200 dollars u think is big money is actually really not. If u fall sick peren in the u.s, and u get admitted for one week. Only God knows im sure u may pay ur 3 months salary to sort it out even with having health insurance.

A $1200 job in Nigeria is not the same as a $1200 job in Dubai. Sure, people earn at least N500,000 monthly here in Nigeria, and with the exchange rate, it is almost the same thing $1200. This same people are complaining about the cost of living in Nigeria becoming expensive.

Now Dubai is not Nigeria. It is a richer economy with better infrastructure. You know why? Because they have a working government. And you know what makes a government work? Sufficient revenue. Now you know some of the sources of that revenue? Tax. You will be taxed at every corner. You will have to handle all sorts of bills to live comfortably; lighting, rent, water, heating, insurance. If u convert my pay in dollars to naira it's over 1.1 millon naira as a student but my rent out of it is like 190k monthly. Heating is there. feeding is there. Tax of about 240k monthly. By the time u remove all those money, the 1.1 million naira aint so much as it seems. But if u were earning 1.1 million naira in Nigeria monthly as salary, under 2 years if ure serious u can complete ur house and start living there. But here, with that kind of pay 10 yrs youre still on the hustle. We will tell una and tell una but una no go hear word.

bro since u majored in law I advice u stay focused on becoming a professional lawyer, so go to law school because I know that's where your passion lies. But please can link me up to your contact in Dubai because hustle is all I know.

If it does not favour you,then u take the next available flight back to nigeria and continue your law school. The reason why u want to be a lawyer is fitst to make money and take care of yourself and secondly for name and prestige.

Go to Law school. Don't become an ordinary labourer struggling in extreme Dubai heat. Cost of living is high for foreigners. There are some Nigerian professionals there too but you require some years of experience to be recruited as such. Lots of scammers pretending to be agents too. Many of the young Nigerians there are not finding things easy. I felt so sad talking to a few guys who went with high hopes and ended up as hustlers. A word is enough for the wise.

nothing is dignified in poverty, use ur head young man, make enquiries about those who already graduated from law school and see how they are faring.
