The north easterners are Nigerians, if your mind and mentality wasn't biased because of ethnic sentiments, you wouldn't see anything with it.
A section of Nigeria has been severely ravaged by terrorism and violence, it is the duty of every patriotic Nigerian to ensure that part of Nigeria be rebuilt and the Nigerians living resume their normal lives with stability.
Is anything wrrong with that?
So Agatu are No Nigerians.. Nad Godogodo are Not Nigerians.. The area of Enugu attacked by Herdsmen, do u think anybody is still living in that area again....
But since North East have now five head we should allow others to die while rebuild their town....

Nothern are first to shout one Nigeria when its time to Beg for alms and keep their source of income but when terror comes they behave as if others are animals.

.... U tramp... Come to south east around Oji river and see that South East were given nothing to rebuild their land.. I can see Boko haram was a conspiracy from the North to draw sympathy around Nigeria and the world... Everything is becoming clear to me... Boko haram did not do 1/4 of what Nigeria army did in South East and till today.. The 3r by Gowon has not been implemented.... I smell conspiracy... God pass them....

My Pray is for God to elevate Boko haram to Al-queada and Isis.. Whatever Bigger than Boko haram... Let them Bomb the whole North .. Demons

Our senators are to be blamed but not much cos is never too late...
I see no opposition here.
If our senators should raise the motion and sponsor the bill.
God willing the northern senators will back us up and we have our own share...
This is the precedence we are waiting for, the north has showed us the way, we only need to follow their footsteps and get the bill passed since we have a concrete proof and evidence.

I support the bill that will implement the 3Rs but is in the hands of our senators. Bro this is a golden opportunity. Let the SE senators go for it and bargain for it. They will get it

That so called NEDC is an aberration and a fraud to further give more to the north at the expense of the south.

Wealth redistribution is the number one mission that Buhari came to power to fulfill.

Anyone, anyone in Nigeria, North or South, who thinks that Buhari came to power to do one iota of good for the generality of Nigerians is delusional, big time.

It is step step, inch by inch for the complete colonization of every part and resources of southern Nigeria, from grazing land, waterways, to even the individual toil of every southerner.

That is the plan, inch by inch.

Thank God you just made your true intention known. I didn't bother reading your write up cos its always littered with trash. Meanwhile when the NDDC was formed, ba kwome, when they handed SS Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, ba kwome, Derivation fumd, no problem. Now the Federal government is trying to rebuild a war ravaged region and your here talking. Now using lagos as your guinea pig you blaady hypocrite. Keep hating, the North will always be at the Summit. Deal with it or escape to cameroun

Please show us how much of the money from:

- groundnuts.
- cotton

etc was/is shared monthly as federal allocation from the north
Instead of asking that the Niger Delta escape to Cameroon, simply excise them to be on their own.
Shikena!

You are hypocritical and maybe uninformed.

NDDC is the successor agency of OMPADEC with mandate to, among many take care of the complaints of the region especially taking care of the oil spillage and environmental degradation. These were effect of OIL EXPLORATION by Oil companies and FG. The NDDC is funded with OIL MONEY from the region and not cassava money from Kano.

Secondly, we have consistently maintained that NDDC is a fraud, instead we want review of the sharing formula and be able to be self sufficient. The NDDC is in fact a favor we are doing to Nigeria and not the other way round.

On Ministry of Niger Delta, honestly, I don't think any Niger Felt an has felt their impact. it is an aberration like NDDC. Scrap it.

W will have no problem IF NEDC is to be funded by 3% VAT from the Northern states.

PS: I don't hate the north but I won't tolerate oppression and fraud.

I dont think there is any oppression or fraud. Politics is negotiation and lobying. The Northern senators only did thier Job. They are perfectly right to present the bill.

U should direct ur anger to sounthern senators. Period.

Bro, is not the southerners fault.
We have different goals and objective.

And if I may ask, what's the purpose of the unification?
To fight the north? OK after fighting the north, what next? We fight ourselves right? Just like APC??

Sire, it won't work. If the unification is to fight the north. Let those who finds them offensive take the lead and fight them. Count the Igbos out cos we have better things to do whether as Nigerians or not.
[/quote

The unification isn't to fight the north Parley. It is to fight for the common good of the southerners, to ensure that in the project Nigeria we are not underserved. To ensure that we get what we suit deserve.

I laugh at you saying I should count the igbos out. I do not wish to delve in to that, cos each time I hear that I just laugh at some pples naivety. For as long as Igbos are still part of Nigeria, they can't be toO busy to ensure that they at what that truly deserve whilst still in the country. Nobody is saying you shouldn't fight for Biafra, but no wise person puts all his eggs in one basket. Remember, you can't complain of hunger while you refuse to go to the kitchen. You join them in the sharing to ensure you get a fair share. Afterwards you can start talking about other issue.

Igbos are not fools bro.
You can't just wake up one morning to cajole the Igbo nation into a fight with you when you've been the one chastising them.
Reminding them how they were butchered.
How they can't be the president of their own country.
How they will continue to be marginalised.
How they will be a minority when they have the second population after the Hausa's.
How you will crumble their adventurous business

The list continues.
Until the Igbos have that brotherhood confidence of standing and fighting for each other from other southerners especially the Yorubas. Am sorry to say this southern unity is a fiction, a joke, a pipe dream, a fallacy and a fantasy.

I will not even subscribe to it until some of these things are corrected.

I'll preface this by extending my heartfelt admiration for the urbane submissions made by bejeiodus, sweetguy25, tuale4u, and intrepid01.

Reasonable people like you are the black man's only hope to cover himself in glory in the face of deepening hatred amongst brethren.

I wanted to comment, but you guys have said all that there is to say.

Barcanista,

You're a different ball game altogether. You're a great guy, and your intentions are good, I understand. But you are putting this the wrong way. Sometimes, you have an issue telling politics apart from neutral circumstances.

While the means is every bit political, you have to understand that the end isn't. It's not about who's contributing what, rather, it should be about putting all hands on deck to rid the country of the menace.

If it's not properly handled, an implosion will be visited upon us soon, and forget that you are in faraway Rivers? These things have far-reaching effects.
I think you were doing okay until you chirped in "herdsmen commission". That's comical. Not because any lives are less important, but because we're talking about hapless individuals who have lost everything, I mean, the destitute who lack even a pen to call their own.

I thought your concern for mankind should trump all else seeing how you parade yourself as a comrade?

There are times when our differences should not even matter for Pete's sakes! You should have been thoughtful enough to pick your moments. This is the wrong topic to gloat over.

I n as much as i agree that we are all entitled to our own opinion, i totally disagree with you on this.

The bill is a welcome development considering all that have transpaired from the North east.

We must put sentiment aside and hail our Northern senators. They have the interest of their people at mind unlike the SS, SE and SW senators who are just there for their pockets and family alone.

Tell me since the establishment of the NDDC what have they achieved.

I must commend the Northern senators for pushing and ensuring the passage of the NEDC.

Its a patroitic move and a welcome development.

The civil war happened over forty years and under military regimes. I don't know why they failed to setup a development commission but the truth is that the easterners failed to take any action towards ensuring that something sort of that nature was instituted to redress the problems.
The level of destruction in areas you mentioned is nothing when compared to what terrorism has done to north east. Even the whole world is aware of that and foreign donations have been pledged to ensure that the north east is redeveloped.
It will be terrible if news goes out that a bill that was supposed to redevelop a war torn part of Nigeria wasn't passed. What will the international media say?
You have to commend the reps for doing the constituencies proud and condemn your own reps for not doing anything to better the lives of their own constitutuencies...
