Good evening laptop engineer in the house. Please I need help. I upgraded my laptop today from windows 8 to 8.1. After the upgrade I noticed that the second function.key (fn key) is no longer working/responding e.g I can't reduce or increase the screen brightness etc. but I can increase and reduce volume. please what is the solution to the problem?
N.B- it is a samsung activ notebook

Please guys, my HP laptop is giving me a source of worry. It started yesterday. The problem is that the screen is always shaking up and down. I have tried different maneuver but no way. It keeps shaking intermittently. The shaking is not visible on a screenshot else, I would have posted a photo. What could be the problem?

It seems ur 8.1 is isn't activated,try using activated win 8.1

Good day house, please help out.. my system has been doin well and fine. But just yesterday a freind I borrowed return it after use and since then it can't start/boot on its own..

The message is that there is problem with cooling fan operation and system can't start.. . An it will then off by itself.. if I happen to neglect the the warning I will have to click on on continue tab the system will then boot and come on but will suddenly shut down on its own in barely less than 20 mins...and there'is difference in behaviour of sys compared to before and also very hot in small time of usage

D problem is either d cooling fan has stopped working or its filled with dust..Most probably d second.D system needs to b dissembled 4 dis problem to b fixed.n

hello sir my laptop hp window 8.1 has been working well. yesterday morning when i boot the system the keyboard stop functioning. i mean all d keyboard on d system stop functioning not even d fxnal or numeric keys are working. i have tried removing d battery and insert it again yet none of the keyboard is responding. pls what is the problem?

Boss my laptop just developed a new problem when I start it,it boots but the screen doesn't show anything I have tried all the videos on YouTube and they say the same thing and they don't work.

Fisrt,look @ d screen very well maybe its dim..If u don't say anything try reseating d RAM,or test with a known working RAM if dat doesn't work den connect to an external monitor n if d external monitor displays its screen problem.Goodluck

I tried and it flashed dim light and went off

Boss Good pm. I hibernated my laptop windows 7, but it won't wake from sleep again. I have tried auto reset: by removing d battery and pressing down d power button for some time and it will work,but once I shut it down if I power it again it will still not wake up.

No I tried starting it again from the laptop I've not used an external monitor

Change d settings Go to START. Got to CONTROL PANEL. Click on SYSTEM and SECURITY. Click on POWER OPTIONS. Click on POWER SAVER and choose CHANGE PLAN SETTINGS. At PUT THE COMPUTER TO SLEEP, choose "Never." Click on CHANGE ADVANCED POWER SETTINGS. Double click on "Sleep." On "SLEEP AFTER," change to "Never." On "ALLOW HYBRID SLEEP, " change that to "Off." On "HIBERNATE AFTER," change to "Never." Click on "APPLY" and then OK."

My Acer laptop screen splits into two equals while it's on idle without any collision whatsoever. One side displays normally, while the other shows strange vertical blue lines. Pls help sir?

I have a laptop HP Compaq 2230s which unfortunate stop working even when I plug the charger. I opened it up ([i][/i]due to my little knowledge on electronics) and I saw one of the chips burnt. The chip is close to the port for the charger. How do I get it repaired urgently as I have a working project on it to be submitted this week.

Will be glad to have your helpful response.
