1.8k IFV is not much at all, when NA was at its best we've managed more than than number well. Currently we are managing over 1000 serviceable oldies.

If we are buying over 1.8k IFV, we are up to the task. We simply send personnel to be trained abroad, increase the army intake to sustain what you have on ground , make sure there is an outfit facility where the hardware can be maintained and serviced and lastly availability of spare parts, if possible if they can be produced locally has the NAF his currently building on.

The thing his we Nigerians are intelligent ; we know what to be done and how to go about it, only corruption has taken over our system.
u are up to the task? and the Vickers,4K7FA,troop transporters, artillery ,war ships, helicopters, jets etc were for 20+years were unserviceable.

the annoying part of ur all is if u go round Nigeria military barracks u will see tons of decaying hardwares

UDATES ON NAF ATTACKS ON BOKO HARAM LOCATION AT MALKONORI

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has carried out a recent attack on Boko Haram insurgents’ location outskirt of Malkonori in northern Borno State. The latest attack was a follow-up to the close air support operation that repelled the insurgents who attacked own ground forces at Kangarwa. Survivors among the insurgents had fled to Dogochuku where they were also attacked by NAF fighter aircraft and forced to relocate to Malkonori. Ground forces confirmed a number of the insurgents were killed and their vehicle destroyed from the latest air strike at Malkonori.

Yeap.......

A senior Nigerian soldier was on Tuesday killed by the Boko Haram, reports Premium Times. B.U. Umar, a lieutenant colonel and commanding officer of 114 TF battalion of the Nigerian Army was ambushed alongside his troops on Monday morning between Bita and Piridang. “His vehicle stepped on an improvised explosive device, but he was not hurt,” a source disclosed. “He came out to assess the damage on the vehicle and Boko Haram opened fire and killed him in the process.” The soldiers were said to be on their way to Yola in Adamawa State from Bita in Borno State when the incident occurred, sources said. The full casualty from the attack is not yet clear. Mr. Umar, who recently took over the command of the 114 battalion about three weeks ago, was a member of the 48 Regular Course in the Nigeria Defence Academy, NDA. When contacted, the Army spokesperson, Sani Usman, said he was unaware of Mr. Umar’s death. He said he would seek further confirmation from appropriate authorities. The killing of Mr. Umar occurs about a week after another Lieutenant Colonel, Muhammed Abu-Ali, and his troops were killed in another ambush by Boko Haram. Fourteen Boko Haram insurgents and four other soldiers died in that attack, the army said. The attacks by the Boko Haram have continued despite ongoing negotiation with the federal government. The negotiations already led to the release of 21 of the over 200 Chibok girls kidnapped by the sect in 2014.

NA DRONES IN CION
The Nigerian Air Force made a major stride when it announced that it used an Unarmed Combat Aerial Vehicle (UAV) popularly known as Drones to destroy a Boko Haram logisitics base in Sambisa forest. Nigerian Air Force Group captain Ayodele Famuyiwa confirmed that the drone’s weapon was activated over what looked like an ammunition and fuel depot for the terrorist group, seemingly destroying it in minutes. This is the first time the Nigerian Army has used a Drone in its fight against terrorism, though there have been a few drone trials over the past two years. The armed CH-3 UAV was sold to Nigeria by China, to help in its campaign against Boko Haram.

Nigeria joins other Nations like the United States, the United Kingdom, Israel, Pakistan, and Iraq who have adopted the use of Drones in modern warfare.

The Nigeria army is not left out in the deployment of UAV popularly known as drones. In a recent documented video made public by the army spokesman col. SK usman showing different types and categories of Quadrocopter & drones.

The drone has being a game changer for the army, its gives battle field commanders ample event of BHT movement. Then commanders decide on how to prosecute and neutralize target through foot soldiers on ground, artillery fire or mobile multi-barrel rockets.

The Nigeria army now has a UAV dept/command which is still developing, the head quatars of the regiment (50 SPACE REGIMENT) is located in Maimalari cantonment Maiduguri.

Below are the screen grabs of the documented video-

From the link you posted the picture there is not a NA BTR4E. But information was given on the numbers of the APC that where captured world wide.

The BTR4E was captured when a base was attacked at night, the video propaganda shows the BTR and some soldiers being killed.

DHQ TO PARTNER NSE IN SETTING UP RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT AGENCY

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has sought the assistance of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) in its plan to set up a Research and Development Agency for the Military.
The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) made this request, when the leadership of the NSE paid him a courtesy visit at the DHQ, Abuja.

The CDS, an Engineer himself intimated his guests that the Research and Development department of the DHQ is being upgraded to an agency in order to have the capacity to attract proper funding. The bill for the establishment of the agency is already before the National Assembly.

General Olonisakin insisted that until Nigeria become self-reliant in Military technology, it will not be able to do much in warfare.
He said “When you import everything, you are at the mercy of the manufacturers of the platforms. We must encourage our engineers to be innovative in the areas of ingenious technology. This will make the nation to develop.”

Earlier, President of the NSE, Engr. Otis Anyaeji who was elated that an Engineer was found worthy of the position of the CDS congratulated him and prayed that God will grant him the wisdom, strength and health to carry out the task of looking after the entire Nigeria Defence system.

Anyaeji while urging the CDS to create areas of interaction for the progress of Defence related engineering also disclosed that there are Military engineers who are yet to register with the NSE and therefore handed over registrations forms to the CDS to that effect.

The NSE president also used the occasion to invite General Olonisakin to grace the opening ceremony of its upcoming annual convention in Uyo, Akwa-Ibom State on November 22. The CDS promised to be represented at the occasion. The NSE also commended the feat the Armed Forces had achieved recently in areas of defence engineering leading to the use of drones and local manufacturing of aircraft spare parts.

Impressive work on the drones.

Meanwhile, after all the press releases about technically defeated, we are dealing with a new wave of resurgent attacks and most disappointed that very senior Commanders are paying the price.

This Government like the previous certainly hasn't learnt lessons, dragging it's foot and still not any closer to getting priorities right.

Yeap it's true BHT hus hitting the frontline troops and it's in a cuny ambush manner called hit and run, making good use of the thick vegetation. The BH has now resulted to the gorilla style, ambushing troops post and convoys in preparation for the dry season.

CION or fighting insurgency is complex. And the airforce is doing its best when it comes to aerial surveillance and destroying BHT targets and logistics.

These is the nature and manner if war we are fighting.

This is the problem with Nigeria...bootlickers and sycophants who live in an alternate universe.
2 to 3 Lt cols/cols are dead including significant mid to low level officers as well as troops. IN THE LAST 3 WEEKS.
And people like u choose to bury your skull in the sand with ur rump fully exposed.
I raised an alarm here a while back about movement and infilteration of BHT from mandara mountains.
Now the toxic mix of BHT numbers with available funds from girls ransom plus recent weapons purchases is in full play.
Buhari released their key commanders for the girls. Those BHT released are back in the mix with key intelligence.
State of play gentlemen...WE HAVE A PROBLEM. BHT is upping it's game.
Nigeria has to get with the program.
Where is ur tucano? embarassed
Where are new equipments?
Where are new trained battalions?
Where are new MIL helicopters?
Where are the JF17s?
You are busy shooting up Shiites,IPOB, and Niger delta militants who's political quests are valid.
While you watch non-plussed as BHT takes out the cream of your officer corps
