Some of these vfs people don't know what to collect, you should have asked of the manager, you are not yet 6months so why do you need saps police clearance?

I am thinking of just telling the guy to collect it anyway!

My agent did that for me. I paid an agent 50k to arrange all documents. I only got my bank statement and reference letter from my bank also I did a yellow card with 1k at the Lagos airport I paid visa fee of #28,250. My bank statement of 6months add a closing balance of 2.2m and inflow of about 9m. And am a first time traveler.

Thanks for your response sir! God bless you.

Good day everyone,
I'm really glad to be a member of this forum. I have been following this particular thread for sometime now. In fact, the information I gathered from here enabled me to apply for my visa and it was out within 6 days in Lagos and I will be travelling by December.

However, I will like gurus in the house to clarify me on the following cuz this will be my first time of travelling out.

In my visa application I stated I will be attending a conference between 19th November to 30th December and i believe my visa was granted on that basis cuz it came out quick but for some reasons I will no longer attend the conference but would want to utilize the visa by second week of December.

Now my questions are: hope the purpose of my visit will not affect me at the port of entry since I will be travelling on a different date? I mean is there a way the immigration officers at the port of entry detect this and refuse one entry?

Again, hope I can use the visa any time for visiting aside the time and reason stated on my application.

Answers needed asap

Were you given multiple entry. Check the visa stipulations. If it says single entry then you can only go once. I do not think anyone would disturb you for not attending the conference again but then make sure you have the necessary documentation at POE

You applied for visa to attend a conference and you were given one so you are expected to use that visa for exactly that. If you turned up at POE on a different date then the immigration reserve the right to ask you some questions if they want. So prepare for that just in case it happens

Thanks for the prompt reply. I'm actually asking these questions to prepare myself for such scenario.

However, the purpose of my visit is not stated on the visa, so, is there anyway they can find out if I don't tell them. I was thinking of simply saying that I'm there on tourist visit if asked reason for my visit.

today makes it technically 2 weeks and am yet to get any form of response, my live expires in 12days time, i just do not understand why its taking so much time, from November 7th till today, i have not gotten any form of response and am getting really tired of waiting, its pretty obvious i might not spend more than 5 days on my trip, my only hope is i get multiple entry, at least am sure of getting the week preceding the christmas and newyear as off days, so i go before my leave expires come back and go again the christmas break.

just arrived SA, lovely country, full of trees, very very cold and my friends are laughing at me even though they say it's summer, the stories I heard about immigration been harsh to Nigerians were different, my hotel reservation was just looked at and no call, my yellow card was ignored and i spent only 3 minutes with her, maybe it's the airline I went with, smooth flight.....but guys make sure you are confident of the docs you are giving them as what they really deal with is your body language, it's not a do or die to go to SA but it's fun....have fun

Which hotel are u staying and how did you mke the reservation for ur visa application? Did u use booking.com? Urgent answer needed

Hi people. Well done for the great work you're doing here.

Please I need to know how quickly my visa can be renewed after appointment. I am scheduling an appointment for 11th December and wish to book my flight on the 17th December. Is this feasible? I already have my police clearance and other docs.
Also I can't find my yellow fever card. Do I need to do another vaccination? I did one when I came last year

Thanks in anticipation

For those who are good in Math,Accounting and sciences this the best time to apply for teaching jobs across schools in SA .Check gumtree and apply as many places .When you see SA citizen not getting jobs ,it is not that there are no jobs but some are not qualify and those that are qualified won't take lesser salary than the salary structure of ministry of labour, unfortunately most new companies / schools cant start with such demand ,hence the need to employ foreigners .

@SamuelUMOH Please do I need to use booking.com to reserve my accommodation. How realistic is that since my visa request isn't short-termed but for study. Would that count against me? I'm still trying to resolve accommodation issues but need to put in my permit application by next week Friday.

Please help

Today is 19th why not book appointment earlier next week if you have all docs ready .December 11 appointment is too close to Dec 17 and there is no assurance the visa wil be ready within 5days.Atimes it takes two weeks while for others 5 to 7 days the days are not fixed .My opinion submit this November .You have to book appointment online and make payment .

For long time Visa you need to provide proof of residence not hotel booking. You can mail your school for this or any one in Capetown can assist you with proof of residence.Although some people used hotel booking and they were lucky but most time it can lead to rejection .
