Mr. Gazzuzz During acceleration there's always a boooooooom kind of sound from the engine, it happens to my accord and i hear it from other cars as well wen they accelerate past me. It sounds like a hollow in the engine. Its definitely not exhaust leak sound and i don't think its an intake sound (sucking sound). I know its not normal, people tend to neglect it. What likely can be the cause of this? |

Hello Gazzuzz I am having a few issues with my car. Honda CRV 2002. I hear this growling noise when i accelerate either in reverse or drive. It comes from the power steering, compressor, tensioner area. I can't pin point the exact cause. Beside my serpentine belt is off by one thread but i doubt if that is the cause. Also there is loss of power and i have a "Pending Code" - P0172 - System too rich. My A/F sensor reads about 0.6V. Short term and long term trims are in the negatives. i need epp oooo |

GAZZUZZ: Ha. switch back just like that...in this Buhari regime. I didnt have this noise until i changed belt tensioner. What can we do to savage this? i can't afford a new engine now. I know some CRV come with K20A engine |

Short term and long term trims are in the negatives.the issues above can only be fixed by returning the engine to the original specs. The K20 and K24 are not same engine. The noise on the other hand is an easy fix, all you need to do is remove the belt and check all rolling components for wear. When you find the culprit have it replaced. It could also be a defective belt tensioner. |

GAZZUZZ and house Just got a Nigerian used Acura TL 2005/06 V6. I need tips. I also need reference to a good Auto shop. A few issues i suspect. Fuel Consumption. Burnt 65 litres for about 133 Miles (Assuming the Odometer reads in miles). Although i noticed low tyre pressure today and pumped all 4. Gonna fill the tank once more and note the milage. was told yesterday that the catalytic converter is missing. What are the implications? any on fuel consumption? Any good mechanic or auto shop that is affordable that can help with servicing and maintenance? Are there things in the car i need to pay particular attention to? |

tidymaster:If your fuel mileage is poor ,look elsewhere it is not about catalyst not available ,lot of cars driven in Nigeria that is without catalyst and the fuel consumption is still OK . Take your car to a reputable autocare to perform diagnostics for your car ,they will be able to tell you in a professional way what is missing . call autologic @08061166316 if you are in Lagos. |

Please gurus in the house I need ur advise before I go on a wild goose chase. My Honda accord 03 has issues sometimes going uphill. Although it doesn't occur frequently but sometimes it can be embarrassing trying to climb a hill and ur car suddenly starts dragging. Car drives smoothly and gear changes easily when in motion. A mechanic friend said it might be the gear sensor since the car drives smoothly. I believe nairaland gurus than most mechanics. Abeg oga Gazuz and Co pls help a bro here. |

My car mazda brings our terrible smoke, d fuel doesnt last, oil can be seen at the exhaust pipe. the mechanic said the engine needs to be fixed, he said 15k and 30k, for d 15k, he wl change d ring and oil, while for d 30k, he wl change d ring, piston, some box like dat n oda tins he mention which i dnt knw. Pls what do u guys think about this? |

Okebarn:Don't waste your money on changing any rings ,it doesn't last .Perfect engine overhauling when performed by a professional involve alot which makes it more expensive than buying a new tokunbo engine. Just go for a new tokunbo engine. |
