Hi all, I'm about to apply and I indicated the loan I got from my company...I plan to attach the loan letter and terms of repayment.....will it affect my chances?

Do you have enough for the trip without the loan?

Hi @justwise,

Hope you see this soon - I want to invite my mother to the UK however I would like the application reviewed based on my financial statements rather than hers. In the previous application, her application was refused due to undeclared deposits (she is a businesswoman)

Do I have to reword the cover letter to state a clear sponsorship rather than an invitation. Also do I necessarily have to supply payslips (I work as a contractor so I self-invoice)

My thanks in advance

Is she retired/a pensioner?

Hello justwise , thanks once again for all your efforts here

Please I need your help here

My wife and son were refused the family visit visa

Reasons are as stated below

1) ECO says the last time she was in the UK on visit visa: Why did she spend 3months and not 3 weeks she said in her application (Although she spent 7weeks ..not 3months) and how she got the finances for the extended stay. She was a student then anyway and her parents sponsored her all through.Went back before her academic session resumed in Russia

That she doubts she would not again stay longer this time

2)ECO says in her previous UK application in 2014 that she stated she had no dependent child. Why is she now claiming she had a child in 2012.?

Clearly , she was truly a student then and the child was totally dependent on her parents as at 2014.We both had no financial capabilities to cater for the child back then so was totally dependent on her parents.

She did not lie here

3) Son was born in 2012 in Russia....ECO not happy with the Nigerian Birth registration submitted which was done in 2016 , 4yrs after the child's birth.ECO asked why the certificate was done first time 4yrs after child's birth.

To avoid confusion , my wife intentionally did not submit the Russian birth certificate cos she was concerned cos my child carried her own surname rather than mine in the application.Though they added on the certificate that he is the son of so so so (my first name).

The ECO said he has heard in Nigeria , people get birth registration anyhow and easily so he doubts if she is truly the mother of the child.

He had no issues with all my documents and financial circumstances.

They were refused the visa for reasons summarised above and he says unless he sees further evidence to support the application , and personal circumstances change , they will likely be refused again.

Please I need your response Justwise on how we can clear all his doubts.

I have instructed her to put all her 2012 pregnancy pics, baby pics and pics of baby growing up with her parents

The Russian birth certificate and explain the reason for previous ommission

And also parents to explain in a letter they sponsored her few weeks extended stay back in 2014 and took responsibility of the child so she could focus on her education.

Please is there any thing i must not miss out here.Any positive additions please

I could do a tier 2 dependent visa but i just feel this needs be clarified regardless. So we decided to reapply for same family visit to clear all doubts raised for now

Thank you very much for patiently reading

1. That is always an issue, staying longer than you stated in the application form is never a good idea only if you a serious reason to do that.

Your wife has to try and explain as much as she can and apologize for that.

2. Two ways to address this issue i can think of is.. for her to do what you explained above(to put all her 2012 pregnancy pics, baby pics and pics of baby growing up with her parents) and explain why she omitted that in her previous application.

Or do a DNA test( this will be expensive but surely it will put the whole issue to bed)

3. The ECO is right in this..that was a serious mistake by your wife, since your son was born in Russia why submitting birth certificate from Nigeria? And not only that your wife got one 4yrs after the baby was born.

She has to do exactly what you mentioned which is to submit the Russian birth certificate and give full explanation for that mistake.

Hello morning from Nigeria, @justwise pls need to ask a thing from you,

my brother has applied for the tier 5 charity worker visa and his appointment date is on tuesday, the start date on his certificate of sponsorship is 23rd february, ought to have applied since december but financial constraint and dollar account issues was a factor. pls i need to get cleared if its possible he gets his visa within this time frame, as we would also be booking his ticket in a hay.

thanks in strong anticipation for response.

It's possible he will.
But it's equally possible he will not!
He could even be in Administrative processing for months, anything can happen.

Why do you think that we are fortune tellers to predict the future?
More so because we do not know any details of the case!

The main question here is..can you comfortably afford the trip considering your incoming and outgoing?

Yes I can, that's why I am currently saving for it. By july the cooperative will be a lump sum into my account up to 720k. This I am ready to use for the trip

Good Day at Gurus in the house
Pls I want my wife to Visit UK for a week. She has a brother in UK that has been there for over 10 years (Married, with kids).
The challenge here is she (wify) has a virgin passport. The brother intends sending her invitation coupled with the small financial backing we can gather from here.
What is the likelihood of her securing Visa and what procedure do we need to take pls.
Thanks in anticipation
