Yes, I appreciate them as a piece of engineering. I love engineering with passion so I get provoked when someone calls something junk without a great proof to backup his or her claim.

Keep the good work but don't forget to tell mogidi to transfer some of those hardware as val gift to Nigeria grin

i will inform modiji or atleast to the concerned persons grin

India will build six more next-generation Airborne Warning and Control Systems(AWACS) on the Airbus A330 platform to enhance surveillance and detection with longer range and complete view.

Estimated to cost Rs 20,000 crore ($3 billion), the AWACS will have 400+ km range and 360 degree angle of coverage as against 300 km range and 240 degree angle of Airborne Early Warning and Control System (AEW&C) the DRDO has built on the Brazilian Embraer-145 modified jet for the Indian Air Force (IAF).

Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar will hand over the AEW&CS-mounted plane to the IAF on Tuesday at the biennial Aero India 2017 expo for induction into the IAF and for Initial Operational Clearance (IOC).

pic 1 HELINA air launched anti tank missile it is a derivative and extended range version of NAG ground launched anti tank missile

pic 2 HELINA dual launchers for helicopters.

work is on to have HELINA integrated to aircraft's much like brimestone.(dual and quad carriage from a single pylon) for aircrafts like jaguars and LCA .

yes the indian EMB-145I AEW&C was tested twice in algeria , some reports in 2015 said that algéria and indonisia will order it, but nothing official until now

just for info

many of u might not know that , torpedoes which r fired from ships , subs etc r recoverable and are re serviced to enable them to be fired again.

that is why many navies employ torpedo recovery vessels .

a torpedo is a very costly weapon so every effort is made to recover it unless it hit the target or got exploded.

i did not write it , i copy pasted it from their news site .

the Britishers especially their media prominently the BBC , guardian etc still have a colonial mindset where they always downplay, make fun of their their erstwhile colonies . its high time they smelled their own poo. that they r slipping back kind of little by little .

There's not as little racist arrogance in that mentality ,quite frankly! The thing is Brit products were often over priced and overrated if not outright substandard! A harsh statement,perhaps-observe.

The strikemaster was on the surface ideal for Africa, simple yet rugged. In actual fact it was high priced at 6mn$ when introduced to the KAF in 1971 which is 36mn$ today. It also had high maintenance costs and surprisingly was prematurely rushed to the market-
As of this writing, less than a dozen of the aircraft were noted as air worthy due to structural issues involving the wings, a setback that plagued the series and forced its untimely retirement.
Imagine that!! HTF was it even certified in the first place? If it were Ivan,Woo or Surinder built we'd never hear the end of it!
Even the SA 80 mk 1 was a premature product. Just after the previous post Moi gov took over in 2003 they tried to interest us in the purpose built Vickers 7 and tied its intended sale up with other goodies including the SA 80 Mk 1.

I know many here are enamoured of these underpowered bullpups-imo,they're hideous best melted down into real guns. Anyway, the KDF soon discovered, wonder of wonders! The bleeping mag would fall out while firing!!

Magazine Catch – fails to lock magazine when a full magazine is loaded, sometimes releases the magazine when the weapon is carried across the chest, in arctic conditions the magazine can freeze in place.

well their weapons and so their problems ,
i dont have any beef with that.

my problem is that many of the british media , specially BBC etc like to downplay and deride the acievements of their erstwhile colonies , they still have the colonial mindset.

when india launched its nuclear sub, tested ICBMs , launched mars mission etc they were crying about indias poverty , british aid etc which by the way is not their bloody problem or of concern.

they conveniently forgot that increase in defence and space related infrastructure leads to increase in jobs and income.

as for aid india told them to stop giving aid to india right in their face ,
but they still do , why ?

because 90 % of that aid is used to buy british goods ( conditional aid )
also it is used to fund NGOs who promote british interests and do their biding (including religious conversion )

also britain owes india trillions of dollars which they looted out of india , if not for that they would be still be eating shiit as in the dark ages.

its high time they learned that the way u looted other countries in ur time , the same will happen to u someday in the future.

paybacks a bitcch and what goes around, comes around someday.

DARE (a indian govt. company) developed AESA based 16 ELEMENT LINEAR AND 32 ELEMENT PLANER ARRAY and related sub-systems for FGFA & AMCA 5 gen fighter aircrafts.

looks like India is following Russian footsteps , they have decided to distribute the AESA arrays throughout the aircraft frame just like the russians did with T50 in addition to the primary AESA radar.

DARE (a indian govt. company) developed dual color MAWS (missile approach warning system) for upcoming SUPER SU30MKI.

it is to be mounted on the weapons pylon attachment point in conjunction with the weapon pylon , it is innovative solution , i thing the new gripen NG employs a similar configuration

DARE (a indian govt. company) developed high band jammer pod

It is a twin-pod installation on the wingtips of the Su-30MKI & will be used for escort jamming, i.e. for a strike package only 1 aircraft will be carrying such pods, freeing other aircraft to carry LDPs(litening 4) and not the Israeli EL/L-8222 ASPJ pods.

A single-pod version is also being developed for the LCA MK2

how about something on the Magrav tech

i know very little about Magrav tech.
that it is a attempt to combine and uilize, magnetism and gravity for specific purposes like power generation etc.

personally i am little sceptic about this
how ru gonna harness gravity / produce gravitational force because gravity is the effect of space time curvature, at the best u can try to negate/magnify gravitational field and also how ru gonna get the gravitational field to interact with magnetism becz those 2 r 2 different things and not related to each other.

single engine light utility/observation helicopter (LUH/LOH)

it will have a recon/observation version with FLIR/laser RF/designator much like the american Kiowa

plus it will be lightly armed.

also there r talks of a EW version

its USP is it can fly at very high altitudes with ease.

its primary role will be utility though
