What I can say to all those comparing kano and the south east is that you need to visit kano

Kano[probably the smallest state in the north] is almost as big as the entire south east states put together ... what this means is that if kano wants to build a road from an LGA in northern kano to another LGA in southern kano is like building a road across the entire SE thesame also applies to laying pipe for water, electric poles and wires, government outreach programmes and other utilities

Ps enugu the largest state in the SE is just the size of three or four LGA's in kano.....

YOU DO THE MATH

Please don't compare Nigerian largest state with those 5 villages . Kano is the second most metropolitan area after Lagos. second must structural developmental area. The 1000 years old city. Commercial capital of sub-saharan trade.

I have visited Kano several times, Kano city is great, but Kano state is shitty. your analysis is flawed, According to last estimate by NBS on this thread https://www.nairaland.com/3545871/nbs-estimates-nigerias-population-now Kano is 13 million while Anambra is 5.5 million. If you consider that Kano is almost five times the size of anambra landmass while it is only twice more populated, it then means that Anambra is almost three times more DENSELY POPULATED than Kano. If you consider the manipulation done for them to overtake Lagos then you will begin to understand what we are saying. If we follow your argument then what do you say about Niger state? Road, water pipes, electric lines etc are provided where humans live. you can build a long road to connect two towns separated by long distance while the east build short road connecting 20 towns closely packed and end up spending more. Now on your claim that Enugu state is the size on three Local government in Kano, its a shame that kano with 44 local government is generating a little above half of Enugu IGR. It clearly show that those who claim you totally depend on oil money may be right

Anambra is the second most DENSELY POPULATED STATE after Lagos. Anambra has three fast growing metropolitan cities, kano has one. Anambra rural areas are filled with mansions, kano rural filled with mud. Kano is building a City while Anambra is building a State. By the way, Kano does not have this type of multilaned superhighway found in Onitsha, you can only find this in Lagos and Abuja, even PH does not have it

Aboki Lagos is smallest in land mass but most developed, it's not about landmass , there are high rate of poverty, illitracy, unemployment begger in Kano, Ebonyi state generate more money than Kano, showing flyovers built with ND money doesn't change the facts that your leaders are colossal failure, you guys have held political power for more than four decades and till today , looted the country dry and this is what you can boast of you are not ashame of your tribe? Poverty, religious extremism, terrorists, born troway, highest in consumtion of illicit drugs and mass illitracy are rutted in your region, can you compare industralization in Anambra and Abia to any northern states? Number of candidates one state in southeast produce every year in WAEC and JAMB covers 19 northern states, and your leaders are credible grin grin Onukwu!

so what is your point?? Enugu and Anambra are ahead of Kano despite having larger land mass, population, federal presence etc. Anambra has no airport, no rail line, no free trade zone yet... If you consider the fact that Enugu and Anambra combined is barely the size of kano, you can then see the gap. If you now calculate the percentage of the budget of the states IGR contribute, you will see the FG allocation contribute almost everything for Kano

Enugu and Anambra are ahead of which Kano? The one in your village?

What do you people smoke in that region?

First kano city [metro] is made up of almost ten LGAS..... eg kano municipal, gwale, dala, tarauni, kumbotso, fagge etc each of which is bigger than all those cities you mentioned combined

Second about high ways... kano to zaria road [of which 80% is in kano] is a 6 lane highway tha covers more than 100km which extends to kaduna to Abuja for another 150km
Kano to maiduguri 326km
Kano to katsina 85km.... etc you catch my drift

And to recap this interchange project is a state government project what you keep showing us in onitsha is a fedral government project similar to the one we have here in kano along Zaria road.......

Lie of the century. Which road is 6lane? mind you some of us are living in the North. Nairaland with bunch of liars. most roads in Kano city are just double lane but much wider. I don't live in Kano but I enter Kano steady, the state has much development but not as much as you think. federal government is rubbing many states to pay Kano.

Mumu... just because Nigeria does not draw line on our roads does not mean that the roads are small

Now 6 lane means the road can accommodate 3 vehicles each on either side of the road making it six......

Hmmmm, I wonder where you get this your information. most lgas in Kano city are very small if not the smallest in Nigeria. Kano is not bigger than portharcourt in terms of land area covered. Which local government is big in Kano metropolis?

Is it dala, fagga, gezawa, gwale, Kano, kumbotso, tarauni, nasarawa or gariko? I so much cherish Kano but can't keep quiet when someone is lying in favour of Kano. no LG in Kano is as large Gudu and Tangaza in Sokoto state or Maru in Zamfara.
