Hello guys how are you all doing today...my name is Ihegie i am about to launch my ride sharing app called OMOZI in Edo state on June 1st....right now I am looking for partners...if u re interested let me know.. i accept mostly toyota cars..from 2006 upward but if u think that you have a good car and it's in a good working condition I will accept that...to become a partner or driver with me these are my requirements.
1. Must be 18 and above
2. Must have good driving record
3. Must provide a valid drivers license
4. Must have proof of insurance
5. Must submit police report and finger print... I am doing this because I have a platform for kids which is called OMOZI for kids...which means that as a driver it's ur responsibility to pick and drop kids from school to home and from home to school.
6. N2000 for registration fee (the first 60 drive don't have to pay this)
7. N3000 for road test...this is very important because as a driver u are going to be using gps so it's important to learn how to use it properly.
8. service fee of N2000 everyweek...u may think that the amount is too big remember as a driver..u re going to be making an average amount of 25k to 20k a week...this is because my company also have an online mode where people book and schedule for a ride...so when people do book for a ride online... we simply call u to pick them up.
9. Must have a smart phone ..
10. Your car must be inspected before we accept u...
11. Must also pay N5000 for background check....drivers can pay that when they strt working and it's going to be a payment plan..like 200 everyweek...we are doing this because of the kids..
12. Must also have tracker in ur car..for security reasons
I will be accepting drivers by April so that by June drivers will be fully ready...if u also have more than one cars u can come to our office for special processing...
Our mission is to make transportation available and reliable at a cheap and affordable price...our website is www.omoziride.com ...u can email me for more information at Curtisihegie13@gmail.com....

great idea you want to compete with the likes of Uber,Lyft (coming soon) and the new guys from Europe-taxify.However, i av a question for you, how robust is your risk management process by the time challenges start to come, from drivers, partners,Government, price flunctuation, price wars from the big sharks n so on? I just hope you prepare very well ahead of time for those things, what i can guarantee you is this:if you do not have exceptional market strategy for a clearly defined niche, and you dont have deep pocket financiers, get ready to be swallowed by the big sharks.

I have plans to overcome those problems..for example when it comes to the government..my plan is work hard in hand with them so that my drivers and i..will be paying taxes every month or week...and also in terms of prices my price will go up a little but not too much..for example...OMOZI VP base fare..N330..cost per minute..N9..cost per kilometer N80..n service fee..N4...I am starting very small using Edo state as a base ground...uber strted very little but today they are everywhere.....my goal n mission is to make transportation available and affordable for everyone.u should go online and see how much uber charges people ..it's just too expensive..I live in the U.S and uber charge very little over here ..I am also investing on kids transportation which is called OMOZI FOR KIDS....although I am going to have a lot of upset but my company is going to remain focus on its goals and objectives..I am going to strt operation by June 1st....if u are a customer with me..u get promo code everyday at our website 0.10 off and 0.12 off every weekend....my company is not trying to be like uber or any other online car service.....we want to make people be in charge of their finances...Ride with style but payless...my email is Curtisihegie13@gmail.com text me if u have any questions... www.Omoziride.com

It's okay.just ensure you get your strategy right,am completely in support of competition cos at the end the customers win.Why not start small from the U.S since you say you are in the states and pilot test your model to see how the adoption rate goes then meet VCs like Peter Thiel to fund your growth strategy which will now include launching in Nigeria. That way you quickly get deep pocket investors behind you cos I will be honest 9ja is not the right place to be testing business models bro.even Uber is not finding it funny in 9ja.By the way Uber is still making losses till date based on their strategy and many Partners want Uber to raise their rates so am surprised you said Uber charges too much.Good luck to you by the way.

Thanks so much!

So what is the difference between an UberX and an UberBlack ride in terms of driver earnings? Say for example for a 20km ride within the town?

Is Uber Black operational in Nigeria?

And do customers really request for UberBlack here in Nigeria as opposed to UberX?

Any and all comments would be appreciated
There is nothing like UberBlack here in Nigeria, its only UberX, UberSelect and UberVip respectively. Where you have UberBlack its called UberSelect.

The federal government through the Nigeria Custom Service has issued an ultimatum for all vehicles plying Nigerian roads and within the geographical confines of Nigeria to have valid and correctly paid custom duty. Failing to comply with this directive, vehicles without valid paid custom duty risk impound and the owners prosecution.

The government has issued a grace period of one month ( March 13th - April 12th ) for all owners of vehicles without valid paid custom duty to approach any of the Nigeria Custom zonal command and validate their customs duty document.

For enquiries and assistance, quote or call 07035916733.

I can assist with verifying the validity of your custom duty paper and processing of valid customs duty for any defaulting vehicle.

Once again, for enquiries and assistance, quote or call 07035916733.

Without using a partner, how much can I expect to make in week in Lagos( after paying Uber 25%, the driver and running costs [inclusive of maintenance and repairs])?

Thanks in advance for your response.

TokyoBulls:
I see many partners now offer their cars on rental for N40,000 per week and drivers are requesting they should be considerate and more reasonable to beat N40,000 down, perhaps to N35,000 or N30,000. I am interested in seeing how partners make profit on N40,000 rental not to talk of N35,000 or N30,000. Are there partners here on N40,000 or below who will not mind sharing a breakdown of how it makes sense at the end of the day and he makes profits?

No. As a partner, what is needed for you is your vehicle docs, passing the test and having a valid insurance cover.
