Buhari should call their bluff.

To hell with the senate, they don't represent anyone but themselves, the house of representatives is more relevant,

Continued stay of Magu as Acting efcc bosd is illegal as no provision for acting capacity in the efcc Act. Despite his rejection twice by comfirming authority one would have expected buhari who by the Constitution cannot appoint Magu alone to replace him. We all know buhari is heady and sturborn will want to satisfy himself because he thinks he is the only person that knows no other.. To me his numerous offences are enogh to impeach him

Let Buhari grind the country to a halt. Good luck to him and his advisers.

Some are claiming Magu can continue to act perpetually, if that's the case, their is no need to send INEC RECs too for confirmation. Let Babachir, the SGF confirm them. The executive can continue to run a one man show. Ransack judges house and bring the judiciary arm down; ignore the legislative arm and tell your appointee not to be answerable to them and we are back to military era.
All hail despot Muhammadu Buhari!

Magu is really terrorising this bunch of looters.

Show Nigerians your budget!!!

Magu will continue Acting til Jesus comes. If you do not like it, you can resign from the Senate. IF you are too stubborn to declare your Budget, PMB too should be very stubborn to keep Magu as an Acting Chairman of EFCC.

Why should the executive bow to the senate. All three arms of government have equal power. Let Buhari call their bluff. To hell with the senate.
Senators that have on-going cases with the EFCC are the ones supervising the nomination process of EFCC Chairman, conflict of interest.
Buhari is the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and has authority over the armed forces, the senate has no such authority and shoud tread carefully. Democracies come in different forms.

At this rate, governance will simply grind to a halt because some conceited, self-important mofos have no respect for institutions. Mr President should quickly disengage Magu and appoint a new person please! Must it all go to he'll in a hand basket because of one person? Why is d presidency so hung up on Magu? Is there any special favour he's expected to execute?

The president erred in delaying sending Magu to the Senate for confirmation and now there are incriminating reports arising out of his engagement as Acting head of EFCC. There are more competent hands please!

Is Nigerian Senate now Saraki's Senate?
1. Larmorde attempted to arraign Saraki's wife and he was surmoned to appear before the Senate. I'm sure you know the rest.
2. Saraki was arraigned before CCB and swiftly the Chairman was surmoned and even attempts were made to change laws governing CCB. Just because of Saraki
3. The AGF initiated the arraignment of Saraki on forgery case and immediately he was also surmoned to appear before the Senate.
4. Won't bore you with the Magu's story. But we all know how far
5. Almighty Saraki also decided to ride a # 300m Range Rover but "common" Ali, the CG crossed his path by asking for the payment of the right duty. We all know what wearing of "Uniform" caused in the Senate.
5. Lest I forget, the SGF truthfully made it known that the constituency projects will not be executed by the Senate since that is not their constitutional responsibility. Haaaaaa he was again surmoned as usual to come and explain his "grass cutting" assignment and inflation of contract.
Hmmmmmmm the big questions are (1) Is the Nigerian Senate now Saraki's Senate? (2)Is Saraki acting on behalf of Nigerians or on his own behalf? (3)Must Saraki continue to be holding Nigeria to ransom as he did in Kwara? (4)Is it not high time we called this bully to order by telling him that if Kwara State has been turned into the personal property of the Sarakis, Nigeria is not. Probably he is living in the world of illusion.

Since 1999,no Nigerian president has been so toyed and disgraced, like a mentally challenged child, like Buhari.
Even as clueless and useless as d fisherman was as president,he showed a bit of bite, even when done shambolically, when d NASS tried teleguiding him.
I dont understand this Buhari again.Like someone once said, the problem he has that's incapacitating and seemingly paralysing his thought processes maynot be ordinary. It maybe spiritual, because even a dull president knows when to say enough is enough of d ridiculing by any NASS.

If Buhari had listened to Tinubu, PDP would not have gained this kind of power in the senate and house of reps to be causing confusion there.

Are you saying that the check and balance role of the senate is not necessary?
Are you saying that we are better off with a strong man than with strong institutions?
Do you have any relation or friend in the US, Canada or UK?

This is the kind of advice you people were giving on Niger delta militants at some point in time but we know where we are now. We know who finally blinked. Executive recklessness will lead the country to nowhere. Very soon Buhari stubbornness will land us in a total fix again until Buhari will fall sick again and Osinbajo will have to step in and diplomatically resolve issue. Its just a pity that Buhari may not make it back this time around.

No problem, just don't use the same fingers to type that corruption is Nigeria's problem. Unless you are benefiting from a senator, no Nigerian senator represents any interests apart from his own. Solve the problem diplomatically LOL! Then you will be complaining in silence. Okay, what will it take the comedy show called the senate, to confirm MAGU. Are they saying Buhari doesn't know who he is appointing?! Are they not in the same APC?.

It is so sad...Nigerians cant just see these legislators are the bane of our progress and democracy.

They are chief of thieves, sponsors of bokoharam and financiers of militancy. They are selfish and shallow; only thinking about themselves and family.

They are not only holding the executive to ransom but the entire country!

Imagine saying "Lets hear from Muhammadu Buhari on Magu's case, Magu is terrorising us, because we disqualified him", Sen. Francis Alimikhena who also supported the motion cited.

BUT WE KNOW REVERSE IS THE CASE! You disqualified Magu because your hands are DIRTY!!!

You have disqualified Magu, what else do you want? How does magu's case affect confirming the REC's

NB: The law allows Magu to keep serving in "acting" capacity.....

They had better move On...CORRUPTION MUST BE KILLED!

You need to understand my point. Even a thief u catch in the act will escape if given a chance. Mr President rode into power to fight corruption and he ought to know that the looters n thieves will protect themselves and their loot with all they have, they will not roll over and play dead provided there is some wriggle room. These are basic facts.

Now, the EFCC is one core agency for tackling corruption, it means the head of that organisation is the arrow point that will step on mighty toes in the course of his job. Why then would the president appoint the EFCC chairman and leave him in acting capacity for over 8 months before the VP sent him to be confirmed when Buhari went on one of his many vacations? If he wanted Magu to do his job without fear, why didn't he send him for confirmation by the Senate within at least the first week or month of his appointment when he wouldn't have stepped on any toes yet?

The Senate may have rejected his nomination because they're facing investigation n trials but that is mere speculation because curiously, the same Presidency via the DSS gave d Senate the ammunition they have used against Magu today. Why didn't the president put his house in order if he was hell-bent on having Magu head the EFCC? Even if it's because they have cases against them by the EFCC, wouldn't you try to remove a thorn in ur flesh if u were in their shoes and had power to do so? It is only natural. Or would u expect the Senate to ignore such a report by the DSS under any circumstances?

That's why I am of the opinion that the Presidency should cut its losses, save us more drama and appoint a new chairman. Hopefully they will learn their lesson on the need to act fast and not lay back n go to sleep like everything is at their disposal to do with as they deem fit. Magu is not the EFCC, a new chairman made of sterner stuff will keep the tempo and hopefully not be tainted the way Magu is cos face it, Magu is also dirty.

There is no bigger corruption that when you rubbish a democratic institution because of grudge you have against those in the office. What is at stake here is not integrity of Saraki as a person but integrity of the senate as an institution. When the executive encourages his appointee not to appear before the house, it is the image of that institution that is being dented. If a conflict arise between an individual and an institution, you don't expect the institution to bow to the whim of an individual. That denigrate the institution and set a bad precedence. They say you don't cut your nose to spite your face. Rather than Nigerians seeing individuals in the house, we better start seeing an institution that must not be allowed to be brought into disrepute. Buhari is gradually dragging Nigeria into chaos and anarchy. There are many people more qualify to head EFCC than Magu. Why turn Magu to a god? Let present another person for the office and move on. Enough of this charade called corruption war. It is turning to a circus show - dancing round a circle.
