Northern Nigeria has land, population and CAN GENERATE CAPITAL. His views are his own, not that of northerners. I believe many northerners would disagree with him. There are many documented research that northern Nigerian SUSTAINED THE ENTIRE Nigeria state from 1914 up to 1974...

This is where i stopped reading and called this man a Big Fool for trying to rewrite history.

North has always being a parasite

Can Agriculture, solid minerals etc sustain a country?
Does north have the required arable land to achieve this?

If yes, then the north can stand on its own.

I don't really know where they got the history that they sustained Nigeria before oil. The worst is that the elite claim that Nigeria used funds from Groudnut, hides and skin, etc to develop the oil sector in Niger Delta cheesy cheesy cheesy imagine the lie.

I stand with Ezeife and Ohaneze.

I am for one restructured Nigeria. With this current system we have, it'll be a miracle if we have One Nigeria by 2030.

They will not listen, now that they have a fellow northern elite telling them the truth based on what is currently on ground and what the future holds.
that was how they defended boko haram which has ravaged the north and made it poorer.
It is a fact that the north has the highest population of poor people yet they have more of Nigeria leaders to have come from there ,that is wickedness and act of slavery.
Nigeria surely has to be restructured before she can move forward else it will only be day dreaming for the north to think they can hijack other regions resources by force,if they like let them spill all the blood of their slave brethren .

Yeah...north are also land grabbers. Wonder why they like claiming middle belt as north. Why is the middle belt called north central instead of south central? North doesn't own 75% land mass. Count only the core north.
why do you think it should south central? Is that possible geographically

this man must be a bastard! for clarity sake eastern Nigeria sustained Nigeria from 1914 infact Igbo land was a he reason for amalgamation of this country by the British. it is on record that lord lugard amalgamated the north with the southern protectorate because the north was poor and was running with deficient budget while the south was rich with surplus budget as a result of coal exports from the Enugu mines. in fact the porthacourt seaport was built to export Enugu coal to Britain and other foreign country.

this is fact
op kiss the truth!

Well,I can imagine how you were brought up as a kid by calling smn a bastard.

The main stay of naija income prior to oil discovery was

Groundnut..north
Cotton..north
Cocoa..west
Rubber..east
Palm oil..east.

So I can't get it how u came up with your view that the north is parasitic.

Hope this helps

Alhaji, the north is just parasitic on the whole nation.
I wonder how this man got his professor, he always reason from the negative angle.....how can he say that the oil money Nigeria got is an idle money that we did not work for......he is completely ignorance of how oil is being processed....From seismic to drilling to production to refining to Depot before it got to the filling station where Abdulahi Tanko knows how easy and idle to extract oil even before that there are other production chain like pipe line, platform construction, manifold station, flow stations, FPSO's, well intervention, well construction, well production ( cementing, sand control, fluid analysis etc) Tanko should also know that in this present world you don't need massive land before you can be a leading farmer you farm with technology not by labouring people he should just borrow a leaf from Sanusi and el-rufai they really understand the true state of the NE & NW rather than disagreeing with the monarch all the indices sanusi is talking about are true

You are not alone in this school of thought bro. I just told myself that its either the old man has become senile or he was too embarrased to accept the truth Sanusi lamented, so he had to resort to blatant emotional lies as a cover up. What an ostrich! I only blame d whole South as an entity, because if not for d North, we would have been far more advanced than any country in Africa. The North has continued to live off our sweat & resources since 1914 yet instead of us to close ranks stop the wicked status quo, we are here bickering. smh!

Bro,you just spoke my mind about the position of the Middle Belt. I refuse to call them "North Central". How can any sane person call Kogi state or Kwara state that is closer to the South than to the North "North Central" ? Why not "South Central"?
It's time Southern Nigeria woke up from her slumber! The north can never occupy 75% landmass of Nigeria and still call it "north". It means they've exceeded their boundary.
Even North Africa cannot claim Niger or Chad or even Gabon to be part of North Africa.
This anomaly has got to stop! They have been leveraging on this to cheat on southern Nigeria a lot.
When it comes to getting allocations from the federal government, northern politicians are ready to call Enugu state, if possible, as "north", but when it comes to bringing out a representative from there, they may even say someone from southern Kaduna is not a core northerner.

PS: The mods should push this to front page.

I like that. The only but and a lie is the North claiming 75% of Nigeria land Survey. The North is in Kebbi, Part of Niger, Kwara, Part of Benue, Kogi etcetera by Subterfuge. Anywhere you see a Northerner south of The Rivers Niger and Benue, that Northerner is an Immigrant there. He crossed the Rivers into others Territories. Mr. Trump of The U.S. has just pronounced that "Migration is a Privilege not a Right". The Palestinians are fighting Israel for Palestine. The Fulani Arabs and the Sulu-Gambaris occupied Ilorin by Subterfuge. It's a Yoruba land from the South of River Niger in Kebbi State down to the Creek. Hausa/Fulani can only claim from upper Lokoja to Sokoto in the NW and across to Maiduguri in the NE. This is about 33 1/3% of Nigeria land area. This Land originally belong to Gwaris, Kanuris, Gbakis, Kagoros, Katabs, Kajes, Koros to a very large extent etcetera. These ethnic groups will one day wish to fight for their Rights and drive Fulani Arabs Herdsmen back to Futa Jalon.Fulanis are Tuaregs Arabs Invaders anywhere you find them in Nigeria.
Pls lets get our statements right n straight. The prof was reffering to the north n not s tribe ,of course wé all know that different tribes occupy the north .so u reffering to the fulanis / hausas is completely out of place.

The truth is that all lands in Nigeria are blessed with one Mineral resources or the other. If Nigeria splits it now depends on how each region will harness their Mineral and Human resources.

The North will be the poorest truly because of its literacy level except something is done to tackle that. I have no doubt the SW, SS and SE will be Okay.

The SW has a Port, A bit of Petroleum, Cocoa and the Largest Reserve of Bitumen in Africa.

SE has Coal, Palm oil, a bit of Petroleum, trade and commerce.

SS has huge Oil reserve and Ports too

Raziii:
I personally would love a one Nigeria where there is peace and unity of purpose. But truth has to be said, the one Nigeria we have now is not working because its a fraud, a big fat lie. We are only pretending. Everyone in govt, past and present, is first looking out for his tribe before any where else. And that's not how leadership works. Even from the president's body language, its obvious he also doesn't believe in one Nigeria.

So what's the way out, lets sort things out. We brag about our diversity. How far has it taken us? Not too far. Why? Because diversity isn't about putting a bunch of people with different background together in a room. Its more than that. Its about giving every tribe a sense of belonging. Its about us all acknowledging that yes we are different, we obviously are, but then accepting to live together based on the things we share in common. And that can only work if there is equity, fairness and justice. But if we can't guarantee that, like it is currently, then no mincing words, a breakup would be the best option.
I support you my brother. The thing is that Nigerians hate hearing the truth. One Nigeria is not working at all, lets disintegrate this country and every region will sit up and hold their leaders responsible for thier actions. They won't be marginalization again, so many things will improve, the tribal killings will also reduce drastically cos you have to live with the new laws of the region and each region will go back to the round table to set up an economic plans for its region not this one that some one will go to another region n be diverting resources to its region.am a Yoruba guy n I support 100%. We won't die if we divide, other countries have done it and are doing well but the wealthy politicians won't allow this. They keep benefiting n the masses keep suffering.
