According to the memo, NAPIMS asked the CBN to release $ 289 , 202 , 382 to the NIA in cash .
The money was received by the NIA and kept in a safe house .
Meanwhile, at the same time, Goodluck Jonathan was borrowing $1billion (one Billion Dollars) to buy Arms to fight Boko Haram, and madam world bank was borrowing to pay salaries. Some people who are hell bent on destroying their own destinies will still come here and defend Jonathan and blame Buhari for our present predicament.

To even think that the government at that time is already borrowing to pay salaries is appalling.

Two plausible theories.

1. $289m to fight insurgence in eight weeks from Feb. 2015 to March 2015. That's outrageous, but the questions left to be answered are : The money was not obviously used for the purpose, so was it not declared and returned back to government two years after. Is it not obvious also that Oke was playing with the idea of converting the money to his own. Just $49m was found of the $289m, where is the rest or what happened to the rest?

2. $289m to support the re-election of Jonathan. Is not obvious that Oke played a smart one Jonathan, he purposely not use the money for the purpose it was released with the intent to make Jonathan lose so he can covert the money to his personal property?

Whichever way, Jonathan has gotten his name involved with too many cases of corruption and looting of the treasury and thus should be invited for probe. If he has any integrity left in him he should stop sponsoring protests for his probe and also stop hiding behind those opposing his probe.

Jonathan is honestly a noneffectual leader. Or how can a leader ordered the release such amount in cash. For those questioning the reason why our economy has suffered a set back, i guess you're having your answer.

As a president, he can't toy with security based on the security advice from the security agency to release such money if he actually did, but the criminality in it is for you, the NIA boss to have concealed such from the incumbent president, who's your current boss. Are you planning to overthrow Buhari government with such money?

Finally someone is thinking with their head not like the person above u who most probably was talking with his nyash. Anyway looks like Jonathan will be blamed for everything even if its diarrhoea.

GEJ as president had every authority to approve money for an agency.

So, are Buhari's men that took over from May 2015 telling us that NIA did not return the unspent money back to FG at the end of 2015 and even 2016? or was it GEJ's responsibility again to enforce that even after leaving office?

Buhari and the APC strategists have succeeded in covering-up this matter.

Please don't be foolish. Do you have any idea what USD290million is? That's more than a quarter of a billion dollars. What on earth was the NIA supossed to do with that money that can conveniently build a 300MW power station in Lagos? And to make matters worse, it was in raw cash!!! The perpetrators have absolutely no defence.

yea

they had to use several days and concot something to satisfy zombies

we knew the delay was to find someway to rope in GEJ and quickly clear APC chieftains from the scandal

but the time game will only work on zombies

EFCC lost it, and as usual no one will be jailed

Why are you sounding naive. How can a president in the first place approve 289 million dollars to enhance security for six weeks. Where common Nigerian youth are languishing in abject poverty and taunted by unemployment. Some people are political sycophant and will never call a spade a spade. This is pure wickedness as it's obvious that money was disbursed purposely for 2015 election campaign. Please let's stop being biased on issues that is affecting everyone and faced pure reality

I'm not surprised at this because this is typical of what you find in Bayelsa govt house since 1999 from DSP Alams to Gej to Dickson. FAAC allocation comes in, they sit down and share it among the political class for mostly Ogogoro purposes. Same way my ex-colleagues from Bayelsa treat their salaries once it shows. No savings, no investment, no plans. That's why you don't find meaningful development in that small but rich state.
If not for the "gentleman agreement" among the political class not to prosecute former presidents, Gej being by far the biggest thief with no less than $1b loot would be languishing in jail by now.
Dishing out our hard earned dollars as if he owned the monies. What an excellent Ineffectual Buffoon!
