Just checked the site and i think it is still cheaper to buy it here. Saw that most of the bodysuits are a pack of 4/5 and it's still about the same price as here or even slightly higher.

Bamboo and Hemp and Cotton are all inserts. Absorbency and fit is what separates them. Cotton is very thick and absorbent (gives about 4-6 hours of wear), Bamboo is very light and absorbent (3 to 4 hours of wear), Hemp is also slim and absorbent (5 to 7 hours of wear). These options are dependent on you. Some mums like the Bamboo and hemp when they go out because they are slim. Our grandmother likes the cotton for long naps and overnight. I usually add Cotton and Bamboo all night, no leaks. Cotton and Hemp will go for 12 hours (the Mac-Daddy of Absorbency).

Inserts depend on how many times your baby wees and poos every day. If you have 3 covers, for different ages of babies, about 6 to 8 inserts for 3 month old babies (I am adding poop), 5 inserts for 7 month old babies (more poop), 3 or 4 inserts for toddler (they are learning how to control their bladders and are getting potty trained so less pee and if you get them to the potty on time, no poop). Please remember, I change my baby a lot. I tend to go with my paediatrician (who told me newborns should be changed upto 10-12 diapers and sometimes he uses the number of diaper changes to gauge how well a newborn baby is drinking milk). If your baby wees a lot or is pooing a lot, you will need more (same as disposables, you should not leave any baby younger than a year in only 3 diapers daily. That is why so many people use Desitin, Sudocrem and Baby Tribotan: rashes! Resuable Cloth nappies need only ori or coconut oil for diaper cream, just to moisturise the area because of the constant wetness can dry it out. So additional savings!). The good thing about reusable diapers, if they like, wee 20 times a day I will change it peacefully. No crying about the price. that is what makes Disposables so expensive.

If you mean, can you use the diaper covers with the old school napkins, yes. However, the main issue I heard from some parents (a dad told us this one) was absorbency: the old school one gets peed through in an hour because it's thinner. So you change a lot more. He said they tried it on his son and he peed through in that 1 hour on a way to a party. However, the new cotton napkins are very thick (the first email we get after customers buy them are "omo, that thing is thicccckk" ) so they give better absorbency. What you can do is buy the old school one and try it. Maybe when you are getting some diaper covers from us, try one cotton prefold. Contrast and compare. Whatever decision you make, then go for it.

At the end of the day, I prefer you using something organic on your baby (either the old school nappy or our Nappies) rather than a disposable that falls apart or causes rashes or doesn't have elastic and leaks. If you are satisfied with whichever one, that works for me. smiley

I honestly think cloth diapers are the way to go these days.
Most disposable diapers are nothing to write home about anymore.
Just be buying small small.... If Na 5 you get, it is better than nothing. On the days when you are absolutely broke you don't have to worry about diapers at least. Na wash and wear wink

But most importantly, I support them cos it is Eco-friendly.
Got to know about it too late plus I'm a lazy washer embarassed, I for join the train since sef.

Thanks. I'm not a Ftm but I'm shopping like one because I've given out all d baby stuff I used for the previous ones.
You are right about Ftm buying quality things for subsequent use. I'm only getting few unisex things for 0-3 months. No stroller, had given out d 3 I had before. No cot, bassinet or nursery decorations because I intend to co sleep. Most shops abroad do sales around august/sept, that's when I'll do my major shopping. The exchange rate is not smiling. Money must not waste.

The liners are to keep poop off the insert. It is not a necessity but it is nice to have, you drop it into the toilet. You can reuse the flushable liners once or twice and reuse the reusable liners as many times as possible.

Do you know you are supposed to use liners even with disposable diapers? Honest! Mothercare used to sell them. Human waste is not supposed to be thrown in the landfill/dumpsite. It causes wahala, you are supposed to flush it away into your septic tank and it is a Public Health issue, especially in Nigeria. Lagos state govt is now charging for these things under their Public Utility levy (they just announced it this week). Because they have been trying to manage our Lagos landfills (and even collected huge loans) for years. It pollutes groundwater (which is why Lagos state Govt is also going to be charging a tax for drilling boreholes).

Liners are for "catching" poo.... or at least the bulk of it especially when they are more solid. The disposable liners can be flushed. You simply pick up with poo and plonk into the toilet and flush.

The washable type also keeps baby's bum a bit dry. You dispose the poo in the toilet, wash the liner and re-use it

Please kindly answer these questions
1) is the diaper waterproof? That is, hope it doesn't leak out when wet.
2) is the insert disposable or its the reusable type like a napkin?
3) if each cost 400 & 200 respectively, how much is dozen price? Especially the insert.

Awaiting your answer.
D diaper cover is waterproof
D insert is reusable not disposable, you can double insert e.g u can use one, two or three.
D dozen price is what is stated

The sitzbath bath they warned you about was the hot water / lsteam that was used before.
The one I described is warm water.... warm enough to sit in without any kind of pain.
The warm water soothes.....the feeling is heavenly when you sit on it. Once the stitches come off, the site is healed already and you only do the sitzbath to relax the muscles around there.

Thanks for the clarification Zaynie
