My name is john. Am twenty one
Here is my story. Not just a story but an irony of truth and lies.
Do u know that if any human clocks 50 all he keeps thinking was his death?....(daddy said so)
Just like a utility maximisation, we tend to reach to a point and depreciate.
My father abandoned me and my siblings
just because he will soon die and he need to plan and enjoy the few years he has to spend on earth. He told my Mum that we all have our own future fend for. if we keep expecting him to pay our school fees, buy cloths and feed us complete thrice and many more that we are joking.. He also told my elderst brother that the money he has is for him and his wife. I thought the joke was a plank.. Not until when my two elder brother left the home to no destination.. I sat to share issues with my mum who pointed out vividly that my Daddy made the right decision.
So i wonder if that is right.. Is it only my father that has that mentality or is it a general undertaken. Someone needs a help.

Your father is the most selfish human on earth. You should as well relay to him to keep aside money for his burial arrangement, 'cause if I were in your shoes, I won't spend a penny from my hard earned money in his burial. Even your mum isn't helpful, they suit each other for a couple.

What a nigga. That man doesn't want anything to hinder his enjoyment to the fullest. smiley

Okay John, you're 21 now. It's time to brace up for the challenges ahead. The old man has made his decision.

Good luck!

To be candid with you your father is a short-sighted man because his perception of death at age 50 is so awkward. Many people have live till 80 and beyond and have left enduring legacies behind!!! So why should he be expecting death at age 50, thereby leaving his parental duties undone?
At 50, he should really be consolidating his energy on training his children educationally, providing for those who are still living in his house and are unemployed. With this, his memory will be cherished and will not really matter if he actually died at 50 or lived till 90! Maybe you need to talk to other family members to let your dad see reasons on why he shouldnt abdicate his parental responsibilities for a flimsy and unfounded excuses. The consequences of not doing his parental duties are grave and irreparable. And as a matter of urgency he should make efforts to contact your elder siblings who has left the house for a no destination and bring them back before they are negatively influenced outside.

Lol, actually I had no idea there're men who behave in this manner. Placing a cap on himself @ just 50, he isn't that old sef. I think it's an excuse to avoid his parental responsibilities, he isn't worth calling a father sef. Why bring children into the world you would abandon at some point 'cause you think it's a burden?.

lalasticlala is needed here.

Your dad is simply trying to shy away from his responsibilities. The only time he's permitted to make this statement is if he has fulfilled what he owes you all(education). Maybe you guys ain't making he happy and he decided to act this way. OP are you in school? and as for you elder brothers. . .has he settled them at a point in time and they didn't yield anything positive?

This is serious.

Guy this really sounds strange. Your Dad may just be selfish as someone suggested. But I'm surprised that your mum seems to support this. Are your parents having issues? Could it be that he is seeing another woman as that sometimes makes some men not to care about the children from their previous relationship. But your mum agreeing with him is a surprise though. Saying he is waiting for his death is another thing that shouldn't be taken lightly. Is he suffering depression? Is he still in his right state of mind?

And you siblings seem to like the idea of not being a brother's keeper. Is there bitterness in the family?

Some things don't seem to add up.

Your FATHER should NOT be having children if he had no intention of taking care of them. Seriously, children need guidance and support. No wonder suicide rates amongst young people are so HIGH.

That's not a general mentality, it's a selective one for people that are already self-centered.

Now dude, forget your dad, just assume he's dead already and live your life as a young man with no father.
