I believe the first step to woo investors is to make infrastructure available. Infrastructure, security of lives and property is key ingredient for an investment friendly environment. With infrastructure and security, investors will come with minimal campaign. Akwa Ibom has vast arable land, minerals, oil & gas. Their Gas reserves is also well developed. They are host and hence first beneficiary from the presence of 7E's gas processing facilities in Eket where gas is produced for local use - power generation and industrial use. Gas pipelines already traverse the state and ready for hook up for any type of industrial use. Their future is very bright and the people are very receptive to development. Very peaceful and united people.

Thank you very much for this thread @rozayx5. I am particularly excited and interested in what is happening in that area of the country.
I was there between December and February and saw the level of work going on in the Oron/Okobo/Mbo area.
I will be in Nigeria again in June and hope to stay 4 weeks in AkwaIbom and take pictures and videos to add to this thread.

Even infrastructure should be targetted to areas of maximal return. Emphasis being placed on industrial parks/clusters that can be serviced efficiently. Make sure there is energy, roads, land, security and even factory spaces to lease to investors. Then link them to sources of raw materials, markets, the ports by road and rail. There is one of two kinds of investments a state like Akwa Ibom can pursue. Either bring in foreign (or local) companies looking to aggressively expand abroad or establish centres of excellence in specific products or services the state will wish to domimate into the future. Power is a big challenge in Nigeria. Why can't the state for instance look to establish a mega solar pv panel industrial complex in partnership with top industrial comcerns from China to service the entire needs of the west coast of Africa. A state can build an absolutely massive economy on one product alone if it is determined, committed and tenacious.
