My brother is hunger limited to Akwa ibom state alone, with the industries springing up, are they not meant to curb the unemployment crisis?

One of my gripes is the airport. There's currently no cargo opperations, Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul is not done and I don't know of any International flights at that airport. The state government says its working on first two issues. The state government probably doesnt have money to upgrade to phase 2 though.


On the other hand they kicked off fiber optic installations in the state.

My brother a lot off issues concerning the airport development, likewise other projects that were previously executed in the state, but to be fair the airport is doing really well if you consider the fact that it is a state owned and run(the only one of such in the country, emphasis needed). I think there are development at the airport, previously they were on generator 24/7, the airport has now been connected to the national. There is also a commercial building in the airport, and the MRO facility is under a technical committee which is headed by Obong Victor.


My happiness with this present government is that it has the interest of the state indigene at heart, as can be observed from restriucting of previous agreement that were not in the interest of the state previously eg the former Le Meridian ibom hotel that the state government was not getting any return on investment, and the ibom specialist hospital, that now under a new and serious management

The renovated general hospital Ikono, as can be seen from the pictures it was abandoned and left to rot away. Thanks to this government its back running, it is well equipped and staffed.

The small gains by udom are noted but its been six years since phase 2. Akpabio didnt do much after opening airport years after. I been keeping track since I would like to land directly in Akwa Ibom when I visit instead of Port Harcourt. (I think Dutse Airport also sate airport but it's a flop).

Le Meridian management cancelled contract with state first. Premium times covered whole thing. After Udom failed to get original managemen back they revealed the never made money off hotel. Hospital management was bad and state didnt pay attention so the foreigners rob state. I can agree all worked out with change in management. Lets hope they start making cash and not here more stories.
