Booking.com is the best place to visit, view your preferred choice base on location, price and even sales/promo and you can go straight to the hotel website to make your reservation

You can't stay for more than 48 hrs with a VIT(Transit visa), since you said you wanted to stay for a few more days I recommend a visit visa

Wow thank you so much.

I have just recently completed a master's degree in the UK and got an offer for a job. Hence I am looking to switch from tier 4 to tier 2 visa. The company is providing sponsorship and will most likely be makin the application on my behalf. However, on 2 occasions I worked about 23hours a week on tier 4 due to mid-interpretation of the "term-time" in the tier 4 visa rules. I was wondering if there is any possibility that this might have any negative impact on my tier 2 visa application. Has anyone done this before? Your opinions will be highly appreciated.

Thanks.

cc justwise

I really don't see that affecting your application

Please, I will be travelling and my aunty who is a citizen will provide accomodation for my stay. How can she write the letter stating that she will provide my accomodation during my stay in the UK and does she have to send the letter to the ECO also? Or should she just send a copy for me to appear with for visa appointment.

She needs to write the letter and send it to you then you attach it to your visa application package for submission.

Help!!!! I wasn't able to get same date and time for me and my daughter as appointment dates. I was only able to pick june 7 for myself and june 8th for her. Does anyone have any idea if they can attend to her same day as mine. I couldn't get same day this week except for next week for us both. I haven't clicked the pay button yet...

I don't know whether your daughter will be attended to on the day you will be since you have chosen a different date for her. It's better to choose same day next week for both of you. That's what I want to do. Prime time costs an extra $101 and it's not worth it in my opinion.

Any questions that does not apply to your baby. Enter "not applicable" or state "infant traveling with mother" Under amount requested, leave it blank. When you are booking appointment to submit on teleperformances website, you will be able to link the two applications and submit it as a group application.

The new application does not give room for blanks or words in spaces to be filled with numbers. I'm also in the same situation as daddysgal2015. At the end of the day, I don't think it will matter what is filled for an infant as long as they are aware the applicant is an infant.

You can also airbnb.com. Good if you like to live with an host. However, I don't know if home office will accept booking with airbnb as proof of accommodation.

Use the old online application portal at https://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk/

I prefer this to the new one. No it does matter what you filled for an infant as this will be on record with home office for life.

What i do when filling in visa application for my family to break the expenses up into each person's contribution to costs. If i have booked accommodation and they say infant's stay is free, then they have zero amounts. If the cost of a room is 200 pounds for the week. I will share it based on if i was booking for 1 adult alone and then start apportioning (using the booking website as a simulant). Remember to work through your travel itinerary. Example.

Accommodation,
1 adult - #100
2 adults - #150
Children are free.

Thus, father has #100 as his accommodation cost, Mother has #50, Kids are zero.

Train,
1 Adult - #200
2 adults #400
Children above 6 - #100
Children 1-5 - #50
Infants free

Thus the father has #200, mother has #200, 1st child has #100, 2nd child has #50, Infant has zero.

At the end, you total each person's expense per category.

It won't be out of place to see #0 for accommodation for an infant, #15 for transportation, #100 for shopping etc.

To ensure everyone has a family application, on the Visa4Uk website, after filling your form, click on fill for another person until you have filled for everyone. Everyone includes father, mother, kids.

Hope it's clear.

Thanks for all your responses. You are all appreciated. I read somewhere online they allow e.g husband and wife even if appointment times are different. So i was wondering if its possible here in nigeria. Since obviously we are traveling together. @ ekpotek , I have already filled the new one. Will try to fill that one too.

I doubt if that will be possible here considering the crowd of applicants.

I have decided and already started with this. My paga account can only access this old online portal. The new one wasn't accessible after several failed attempts. So this solves all my issues. Thank you so much !!!!!!!!!! You, justwise and others have been so helpful.

Hi @justwise @ekpotek and other gurus on here. Please do we need any other documents apart from these for my mums application (53years old retiree)?:

-Her passport

-Our passports

-Joint Invitation letter

-Joint account statement showing the money we saved for her trip (1 month statement)

-My spouse's 6 months payslips

-My spouse's 6 months bank statement showing how money goes into our joint account (bulk of the money coming from my this account

-My 1 month bank statement showing my contribution to the joint account as I just registered and started trading as self employed (still expecting my unique tax code from HMRC).

-Letter from the occupant of the house shel be living in
(8 mins drive from our house) for the duration of her visit stating she can stay there for the duration (We have a one bedroom apartment now but currently looking for a two bedroom apartment as we are expecting and we think it might not be ideal for her application).

PLEASE NOTE:
We are planning on applying for two years visa for her so she can easily reuse later without making another application after this visit. She's been here to visit before in 2012 for one month.
