ScotsReferendum:
Write to UN that they should conduct a referendum and not protection
nigeria is a sovereign nation even UN cant propose a refrendum when there is no war.

The best way to roll.
The Igbo's are far more matured at decision than those old men parading themselves as youths up north.
Kudos, Ndigbo

No tribe in Nigeria has written tons of letter to UN but Igbos. Their voice is adorned with cries of victimisation. They are the loudest and the most cowardly of the more than 250 ethnic groups in Nigeria. what a yeye tribe!.
They alleged that history was stabbed in the back yet couldn't retort with a truer version. They think they can take enlightened Nigerians for their misguided kids who have been bastardized with lies & revisionism.
The North is really guiding through well, they called for UN attention and You have taken a bold step in that regard but for you to raise an unfounded alarm of genocidal attempt against the North who have always call for a non-violent exodus.
One begin to wonder what is so special about the parasitic North and the under-developed SW that the Ibos have refused to vacate these regions.
Let's hope your legislators and political leaders join forces with you and put UN under considerable pressure. We join our faith with yours but please for the umpteenth time, stop the blackmailing.

Una no go kill person with laugh for here...! cheesy shocked grin

This is the outcome when a group of people act without thinking. Nnamdi Kanu was busy abusing and tormenting everyone calling Nigeria zoo, advocating for division without thinking of what will become of his kinsmen and women that have established themselves across the country. Even with referendum, imagine igbos are allowed to leave, what happens to igbo men and women who have built their lives across the country? Kanu is indeed daft and those who follow him are not better. The arewa youth has insisted on their ultimatum knowing they have a lot to inherit from fleeing igbo men; afterall hausa men no dey carry more than mats to wherever they go. So igbos have nothing to gain sending hausas packing. They are talking about referendum, sometimes citing the example of Britain. Ignorant people, they need to call Theresa May to enquire how easy it has been to worked out a post-brexit Britain.
Ibo need to send their children to school. Report shows that many ibo young men drop out if school early to start business and lack of education seems to really be showing in decision being taken by ibo youths.

Reading through comments on this topic proves illiteracy ranks supreme in Nigeria.

Read thru the line Nigerians... IPOB is playing a smart game here. It neither fear or call for protection, the ground has just been set for the next move.

If any violence breaks out in Nigeria, things will happen so quickly. Am not sure the antidote to balkanizing Nigeria is threat but rather finding a common ground for all parties through restructuring.

Otherwise... Violence might just be inevitable.

When they were issuing death treaths to other people it was ok....
When nnamdi kanu was calling for the death of yorubas etc it was ok...

Why can't you be reasonable for ones? Why must you be brewing problem through your statement? Where did the easterners issue threat letter to the Yorubas? Have you seen where Yorubas has issued any form of threat letter to other ethnic group? Only the northers that feel that leadership belongs to them. How can you issue a threat letter to easterners? Remember that your threat letter issued is calling for none northerners to vacate and that include All Southerners? People who will carry out your threat message of Go AND kill are those None educated Northers while some of your educated ones would hide under and be acting/encouraging them to go ahead.

It amazes why the Yoruba always find Igbo offensive, always in defence of the north that has over 200 tribes yet all speak with one voice
Here in the south we are not United at all inspite of our education. Any day the Igbos and the Yorubas will speak with one voice that is why this country will move forward. Am looking forward to that day.
