Pls help

My gear box does not select properly anymore. Sometimes it revs without corresponding increase in speed. It does not change gears smoothly. My reverse gear is almost not functional as I have to Rev very high for it slowly reverse. What could be responsible?
How much is a complete gear box? Honda civic 2005.

Are other Civic model gear boxes compatible to work with 2005 model?

Any good mechanic around Ikeja, Agege, Ogba, Iyana Ipaja, Oshodi should pls contact me or drop your contact.

I was at his place today at Ladipo.
He recommended a mechanic to help fix the gear. After fixing, the D light was blinking continuously and the car could not even move forward or backward.

Now they are saying it might be an electrical bug and will contact someone for me tomorrow.

So I had to pick a few things and leave the car there.
I will be heading there tomorrow morning.

I regret my my decision though as I can't imagine spending that much without success.
Sorry sir have called him today
He explained everything to me
I'm so sorry for that but I promise you he will get your car done
His my Junior bro but I'm not in Nigeria now

Well. Was there today. The gearbox has been dropped and another is to be fixed tomorrow.
I just pray it goes well tomorrow.

Spent about 50k on gear oil, mechanic charges, electrician charges etc. This cycle will be repeated again when the replacement gear box is to be fixed.
Now I am being asked to cough out additional 25k for the gear box again.

How much be the car sef that one is spending almost #200 to fix gear box.
The guy is cooperating but the financial implications is just biting.

Bro, to be frank honda transmission is not easily repaired, once the problem is not electrical then the best thing is to change the gearbox, if anyoe tells u he can fix it na set up. They will collect money from u for repairs, after repairs it still won't work and at the end u r still going to change the transmission. Its just a way of making u pay double. Only a few people can actually rebuild honda tranny in this country.

That was the mistake I made. I should have scanned. Mine was working quite well left for the not too smooth transmission when on high speed sometimes.

I'm more or less trapped here. Another gear box was fixed today. Oil was dripping and the transmission stick refused to move from park.
Now they are saying that electrical. I was there since 7:30 am.
I wish I can turn back the hands of time. Too much money spent already. Gear oil drain and replaced each time. 10k for mounting and unmounting each time.

Will be there again tomorrow. I can't even travel

Why use same method to solve a problem. This is serious. A simple scan/diagnosis would have helped out but you chose a cheaper way out of this. Funny enough a free diagnosis was offered to you @ multiautolab. You ignored. Quite painful though. Plenty money for the account o grin

I wouldn't exactly describe this as a fair comment.

After some thoughts, I was just wondering if using the force will solve it. The guy that was referred to by mazdaenginepart has been up and doing and since he is one I gave the money, the drill will have to start from him (It might be unfair considering his efforts)

I am presently on my way to PH. I have told him to fix it and I pay the extra expenses. Should be back to Lagos by Thursday and I hope the story will not continue.
