Jaqenhghar:bros am not doubting you o , but I know most Nigerians have more info than anyone else, please if you know where I can just walk in and get free stuffs in USA let me know, it will go a long way for me right now. So I can use the money meant for buying that stuff for other things. |
Re: Quitting My Lucrative Job For A Degree In Canada by Nobody: 12:54pm On Jul 20, 2017 |
alexis:Because, I pay taxes mostly when Nigerians come here they are shocked that their money is cut when paid. That tells you how much they pay in taxes in Nigeria. In fact if they ask Nigerians to present original tax clearance to get a visa 70% will be denied. Don't tell me why things work here, I know why they work and am not paying taxes in Lagos cause when they saw my tax papers they think am already paying too much abroad I know this cause I was not charged taxes when I was getting my land papers. Am saying this cause 90 % of those complaining about Nigeria do not pay taxes even though they don't miss their tithes. 1 Like |

Travelling to Canada to study pharmacy .... fine... can always get student visa ... and I guess you have access to the necessary funds. Now you intend to stay there permanently.... most likely work as a pharmacist. Did you for a moment consider you have to get work permit? If you got the degree or whatever.... and decide to return and practice as Plan B.... do you really think what you learn would be applicable ? My advise to you is to look well before you leap..... spend time doing research ... this is the 21st century with information at your fingertips.... leave the follow your heart mentality for those still way back in the 1900's. 1 Like |

234GT: My guy, you've said it all. I was once in OPs shoes. I quickly dived abroad, only to get there found out that, it's not as green as people paint it o! I ran back but it was too late to go back to the job because I resigned before leaving. However, God was merciful and helped me to get another govt placement (without pushing any buttons). It's not been easy though but better than nothing. Lesson learned: sometimes, you dont value what you have until you lose it. My advise: Op, you can travel out but don't resign your job! Take a study leave. In this way, you have a plan B: should you finish your schooling and oyibo man begins to play you the racist card. |

FortuneTeller:Exactly the mentality I talked about earlier. "Think you can or think you can't either way you are right". I guess the over 80% of MBA graduates in the report that had offers were lying. Nigerians need to believe in themselves and strive to be the best they can be. Enjoy the rest of your day. |

Jaqenhghar: Nop you should fit in & not think you are better than others just because u are richer than them. Constantly flaunting ur wealth intimidates people around, draws scammers closer & criminals attention. Some rich abok# will have billions of naira in his account but you will see him mingling with his people, sitting & chatting in dsame location. while some young dude who has less than 10 million naira will be forming am above everybody, throwing money & showing off. |

Ephetar: It's not worth spending all that money from your pocket unless you wanna get a financial aid or a loan and after you get the degree what about paper to work.Don't ever quit a good job to travel abroad, coz abroad isn't heaven. You might end up losing everything and regretting for the rest of your life. |

Jiang:You see some of these things you speak of is evidence of backward thinking. Is it wrong for a man who can afford comfort to choose to live in that comfort? If people are intimidated by his wealth then maybe its their fault for having a low-self esteem and being intimidated. For me I dont think anyone can intimidate me because he has more than me . I can be put off by bad behaviour but not because someone is enjoying his life esp where thay person is enjoying the fruits of his hard work. |

i saw this late...There is no guarantee that you would pass the pharmacy evaluation exam for international graduate in Canada. It's one of the hardest professional exams in Canada. Think am well o. Also..if you are thinking of starting your bachlors or pharmD all over again..make sure you get an admission first, and the 10million would probably only last 2 years or max 3 years. |
