I just called the UKVI on behalf of two applicants who applied on the 20th of June in Abuja
Both applicants are awaiting Decision
They asked if I will like to escalate on their behalf but as I have not been given an authorization by the applicants to escalate I said no
I was give a reference number should they wish to.
Hope this helps

Picked my Passport. Empty. I don't want pity party sha.
The things in the letter were confusing basically because I had explained what they said o didn't explain and believe I put the evidence they said I didn't but I guess it not my time to travel. I have travelled to uk b4. Had 2years visa in the past (2x sef) but I was single then, now married. Was unemployed at d time of application (just completed nysc), might have counted against me. Employed now sha so I guess I have something for future applications.
I don't want to say they didn't go thru it well cos they had more than enough time. I guess it depends on how the ECO views your application
I may not answer further questions tho. Thanks for understanding.

Good day all, I just joined this platform and this is my first post.Firstly let me thank you all for the very information and helpful posts I have read so far. Thanks for sharing.

Question 1, Which visa should I apply for? I will be travelling to the US next month with Virgin Atlantic. I will stop over at Heathrow for 3 hours when going and 15 hours when returning back. I have made all checks and certain that I do not need a transit visa. Now I would like to apply for a UK visa 6 months Standard Visitor or 48 hour transit visa to enable me stop in London for a few days instead of waiting at the Airport for 15 hours (My ticket is amendable).

Question 2 Am I eligible to use the Priority Visa Service (since my travel date is the 15th of August)? My last UK visa was a 2 year family visitor visa in 2012 which was denied initially and later granted when I appealed the decision. I saw the below information on the TLS website.

Customers who fall into the following categories are advised not use the Priority Visa Service :You should be aware that you may experience extended processing times if any of the following factors apply, if you have:

• previously been refused a visa for the UK, and/or;

Please advise accordingly. Thank you.

Yes that's advisory is correct. However, since your refusal was overturn, you could argue your way out during submission at TLC and get priority service. However, if I were you I won't risk it, given current delay and backlog at UKVI?

oh yes I submitted on the 6th of June at vi, was denied before because I didn't explain the money on my account, meanwhile the money they said was my salary , my leave allowance and some money I transfer to my younger brother through Mobil fund transfer before and he paid back same amount with same name I earlier transfer to. I didn't include cover letter before which I now did I hope for the best this time... But pls is it a must or in every successful Application they always call the uk invitees to confirm your coming or not in all cases? Thanks

Good Afternoon Everyone, I must commend you all for all the information. It's my first time here and I need advise and suggestions please.

I am about to apply for a UK Visitor visa 6 months with the intention to spend 6 days in the UK. I previously schooled in the UK for a masters program and came back in 2015 a month before my visa expiry date. I currently work and earn 150k a month and I have my 6 months recent payslips. I will be staying in a hotel in Coventry and will visit London and Birmingham just once for some tourist activities so I can manage my funds. My issue is that I do not have enough money to cover all my expenses. I will be covering my hotel, feeding and shopping allowance and intend to spend 300k. My dad wants to pay for my flight tickets but he wants to use his company account to support this claim as most of his money is saved in the company account. I am a director in his company, although i do not currently work there but my name is on the CAC documents. I have the following documents;

Bank statement (Salary/Spending account with about 100k and Savings account with about 500k)
Hotel reservation
Itineary
Cover letter
Dad's personal and company account
CAC documents
Letter from bank stating my dad as signatory to his company account
Dad's bio data page
Employment Letter
Letter from Company to embassy approving my leave.

I have tried to explain everything mentioned here in great details in my application and cover letter, I would like to know what my chances are in getting the visa.

My other alternative will be to use a male friend as a sponsor. He is a UK citizen and currently lives there and has a very good job with a bank. I am very skeptical about this because am worried I might be denied seeing that he is a male friend. I fear they might think I want to run away and stay with him.

Please kindly advise on the best way to go about this.

Thank you

Thanks! That means even if your invites said he or she didn't get any call from home office and you got a mail from them that decision made and it's possible you go collect and see visa granted... Don't mind me jor just want to know because was thinking everyone their invites said they call is a sign of visa granted! God bless you!

In my invitation letter.. My girlfriend invited me (2nd visit visa application) .. She wrote I would like to invite my boyfriend who blablabla..... I still got the visa.. Infact In my first visit.. My uncle invited me stating in the letter that I would see him and family and visit my girlfriend at some point.. Got it. .. UK is extremely concerned about visitors going back after visit.. Strong ties, strong ties with whatever returning country is very very important.. Never how much you have.

if you don't have enough it will also determine if you will be granted visa Why? because if you do not have enough to take care of yourself and your sponsor is not footing the bill it only means one thing you will have to work within the time of your visit which they do not want.
So apart from your ties with your home country, they are also concerned about your welfare when you go over to UK

You have been in the UK before for your masters and you returned with a certificate and you gainfully employed which is good.
Now not having enough money in your account to cover your trip means you cannot sustain the trip itself and may lead to a negative outcome
if you going to use your email friend, there is nothing wrong with it as you can put in it that you will be staying in his place reducing hotel cost, he will be responsible for your feeding as you will be staying with him, cost of feeding reduced and the 300k will be for transport and sight seeing.
you can also explore your dads option by submitting the companies book and also submitting the joint account. please explain the relationship in your application.
All the other supporting documents should help.

i agree with you,i actually forgot to include that ...other things been fairly equal in my case .. i was actually quite worried about my gf inviting me i took a step of faith believing in God. included necessary documents they asked in the application for my peace of mind.

Hi guys! I applied for UK visa in 2013, as housewife, was refused visa because I was not working; fortunately for me, i got a FG job that same year. The problem now is, my appointment was back dated to 2011,and now i have been invited by my Bro inlaw for a surprise birthday party for his wife. I know i will need to submit my documents from office, hope there won't be any trouble as per me getting the visa?

Sorry about your visa refusal, the monthly income claim is too low for the closing balance in your account, a similar application like yours with closing balance of N3,500,000 also a director of his company had a monthly income of 850,000 and was given 5 years.

Also the turn over is also a factor otherwise, it might look like lodgment just for the purpose of visa and that the money is not really yours

Also you should have answered yes when asked any other sources of income and state how much your earn from these other sources, either investment or dividend. The ECO just believe your monthly take home does not justify your closing balance, but many times they don't consider this fact, it depend on the officer.

Apply again and state other sources of income such as investment even if it is profit from your business and the annual amount.

Just want to know, I wasn't given right to appeal. Is there any other way I can make my case. Cos settling in to consider things. I provided the documents they said I didn't and explained the things they said I didn't( they said I didn't explain not that they are not satisfied). The money i had in my account was taking as how much i had for the trip when i clearly filled in 2 separate answer.
I was at work initially by getting home i settles to consider my application again and the refusal and basically i attempted to answer all the question that was in the refusal. If they had said i didnt give the right answer or dont understand i ll understand. They just claimed i did not.
It is as if they didn't go thru documents after 7wks. What an ECO dt attended to me. It was as if I just wasted money cos it wasn't properly considered based on the letter.

Thanks for letting us know, sorry about the empty passport
