Hello All,

I have been invited to an all expense paid trip to a fellowship training in Jo'burg, all I need is visa and flight cost.

I will like to find out what documents I will need and the best place to submit an application for success (Lagos or Abuja). Also, if you have any tips which can help, I will be glad to have it.

Thanks

Thank you very much @leechicomsoln for the reply. In your opinion, is it better to submit an application in Lagos or Abuja? Or it doesn't matter?

Good morning gurus?

Is this the nairaland platform that I can get info and ask questions on South Africa University admission?

I mean talking about various South Africa schools, admission requirements etc?

Also talking on whether to do Bsc (Hons) or MSc and the likes? I mean not talking about visa alone....

Please help. You may share link to refer me. Thanks

Each school has its own admission requirements. You should be able to navigate through the school site and communicate with the faculty.

Please can you please help me with the necessary things I may need to do or know? I have a Bsc (4yrs) in Microbiology CGPA >4.48, i intend pursuing MSc in Microbiology but i hear some people saying i need to do BSc honours first, how true is this?

Is SAQA evaluation a compulsion before i can apply?

Please do help me with the list of universities that doesn't require Application fee in southy.

Thanks in anticipation....

Msc directly? Are you not required to do Bsc (Hons) before Msc?

Shed more light please?

MSc directly with no BSc (Hons,), please explain to us
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by abdullahi45: 5:03pm On Aug 13, 2017
Thecassanova:

The school has its own verification and evaluation process. They don't require SAQA, same has UCT. But a bonus if you have it, under document upload you see evaluation which you can decide to upload.

I would advice you to maximize your options and apply to other schools. It's easier to get admission for MSc and PhD than Honours. It's very competitive for SA citizens and most schools take just 1 or 2 students from foreign universities.

I hope your last year undergraduate CGPA is 60% and above.

Do you mean honours is more competitive than Msc and PhD?
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Thecassanova: 5:09pm On Aug 13, 2017
@abdullahi45

You may not need SAQA for some schools but its best you do it to know you stance. You most likely do honours has you have a 4yrs Bsc.

About application fee, if you serious enough you wouldn't bother on that. Highest application fee you get to pay is maybe R300 which is less than 9k in Naira. You gonna be paying school fees in millions, so why escaping.

Even in 9ja lowest application fee you can pay for postgraduate is 10k if not 25k.

Yeah it's fine. It actually open twice, November then closes February. Then around June-July for second semester.

Dear friend, I regret to inform you I got my passport and was rejected on the basis that 'No personal bank statement or reference letter from the bank to fobfitm ownership of attached bank account' and hence advised that I may re apply within 10 working days from receipt of notifications'.
My questions are:

1. Does that mean I can apply back next week?

2. Would I submit only that bank documents again because all the original docs I submitted was not given back.

3. Can I meet up for this semester?

4. Your general advise

4. Your general advise

1. Yes you can apply immediately

2. Are u sponsoring yourself? If NO, why didn't you put letter of sponsorship from the sponsor (parent,Uncle etc) stating they gonna be sponsoring you with their ID attached? That's why we strongly advice people here to read through all the pages before asking Q's or applying.

3. Submit with photocopies of all documents its fine.

4. On the SOP state the reason for your denial and how you've amended it by getting new statement of account from bank letter with ID of sponsor, letter of sponsor, signed & attached.

5. Contact your HOD, and if possibly your potential supervisor.

I advice you bother more on getting the visa than meeting up with the semester.
