cloud9usher: Thanks, i see your point. I have created another thread for this my dilema. I dont want to derail from the objective of this thread. https://www.nairaland.com/4039855/need-carrier-advice-msc-uk#60238528 |

otukpoyam: Guy, i have thought and thought and that is why i have resorted to nairaland. To be honest, i just dislike commercial science related jobs even though i try to do my best in the one i found myself in because one does not have the luxury of switching jobs at will in Naija. Remember, i dropped KPMG some months ago and was fortunate enough to find one recently. pls, those scholars u mentioned, do u have any idea what they studied and their performance? |

DanXplore: One time I was in some sort of a "good dilemma" and someone told me to toss a coin and assign both cases to the sides of the coin. Then toss it, that moment before the coin touches the ground, your heart would wish for one so badly. Go for that! We live in a world of uncertainty, do what gives you joy and always believe you made the right decision/choice as the case may be. 3 Likes |

DanXplore: Life is all about risk. If you go, you will gain more knowledge and international experience, unfortunately you will have to come back because its UK unless you impregnate Oyinbo. Lol. And when you come back, you will need to compete for the few jobs in the field you love so much. Or take a job in social science which is what you already have. But 2years is a long time. Unemployment would have eased by then. And if you could get 2 jobs without Msc in this present Nigeria, you can do it again when you get back. 4 Likes |

Noel001: Well, i think i will choose Access, Access is a bank that is dominated by young and vibrant people compared to first bank and yes like the others have said Access will push u to the end of the wall just to bring out the best in the u, i don't see this as a bad thing because u get better and achieve things u never thought u could. You are a young man/woman this is the time to hustle and push yourself, u can retire for first bank later in life. An example is the recruitment process, see how long first bank is taking, In Access everything is SHARP SHARP!!! THIS IS JUST MY OPINION 5 Likes 1 Share |

Donmexie:Except Firstbank decides otherwise, be rest assured your assessment would hold at their training school in Lagos.Everyone who has had their assessment had it in Lagos and I don't think it's going to change now.For what the assessment entails,go back to the previous pages on this thread till you get what you need. https://www.nairaland.com/3426691/2016-firstbank-graduate-trainee-programme/54 1 Like |

Nchabuomo: My brother I'm a PTDF scholar (local though). The local scholarship was worth 1.5m and it was just increased from 750k in my time while the foreign was increased from 3m to 5m. It's the PhD scholarship that makes more sense. It's about 5m for local and 25m for foreign. Personally, I think the guy should go for his MSc if that is truly what he wants, he can always get scholarships to further in Europe if he does really well cos that is his best bet. Coming back to look for employment is a no no for me. If he intends to come back and start looking for employment then he needs not go in the first place. 2 Likes |

ezzo09:If the scholarship covers Tuition An allowance. Flight Fares.... I don't see how 5M would be sufficient. That's about 12-15k pounds. 1 Like 1 Share |

Re: 2016 Firstbank Graduate Trainee Programme by mayorchelsea(m): 4:20pm On Sep 12, 2017 |
OkunrinMeta:Don't mind him,I'm not sure he's worked in a properly structured place where every item in your employment contract is implemented. When resigning from my last job,I had to give two weeks notice despite not owing them a dime.Your employer needs time to find a suitable replacement for you and probably audit your accounts/activities depending on the nature of your job. So,you just can't leave unannounced or on a very short notice.Just refer to your employment letter or ask around if anyone has had to leave on a very short notice.Never rule out your new employer having to ask for reference from your old/last employer. |

When First Bank gives you 4 days to report to TS, Bros wait for 1 week and 3 days more to give notice. Don't forfeit salary and resign yeye. 1 Like |
