we are aware of wat those so called millionaires do. In d same vein would like to know wat the pastor's advisers av done for the poor so far
Why are u so interested in knowing whether they are giving or not..?
If they start showing pics of them giving money to an orphanage home or assisting a sick person in church,u will start complaining that they are showing off!

Will freeze force u to give a tithe to the poor? absolutely not...he is only advocating the people spend money on those who are needy using scriptures to back his claim...pls refute it rather than asking such questions!

....what do those millionaires do?
Stop with all dese warped mindset that all millionaires engage in one illegal business or the other....

U don't expect me or any one who gives to start taking pictures of those they have helped...common nah...think....that's too childish!

Jews no more tithe ever since their temple got destroyed in 70AD and right now a mosque is standing on d exact spot the temple is standing. Until the temple is built back, the Jews won't be able to tithe.. It goes to iterate wat Apostle Paul said.. We (gentiles) av been grafted in and all the blessings that belonged to the jews are now ours tru Jesus Christ(till after the rapture when the church age would end)
When I said Jews, Im not talking of an entity that dwels in the heart and minds of men rather a physical Jew who lives all arround teh world.ie the ones who live near me in North London

Well I have never paid tithe in my life, I heard d word for the first time while I was almost rounding up high school and it didn't make sense den, still doesn't make sense to me now. Offerings in church Nd donations on the other hand I take seriously.

The fact is that most ministries are funded just by a few Kingdom minded individuals who have sworn to advance God's Kingdom on earth with their finances, and God keeps pruning them and blessing these few individuals. 80% of ministry work is funded by less than 2% of Christian population I say this because I've been in a privileged position in my church and I know where the money that funds our programs actually come from, and i tell you it's not from #10 and #20 tithes and offerings

It is appalling that you would minimize the #10 and #20 offerings of your members.

You should read the teachings of the Bible about the widow's mite.

And this is the big reason why people are making a big fuss about Church donations. It is all about the money and little to do with God.

At the end of the day, nobody can force a grown up to spend his money in a certain way.
Tithing is a personal decison. I won't go to hell because i havent paid tithes.
What i find distatseful however is the insult and abuse heaped upon people who believe in tithing. Its nobody's concern how an adult spends his money.
Some people who dont even tithe, or even believe in it expect the church to take up all social and other responsibilities attached to governance. They expect good roads, free schools, etc from other people's tithes.
I don't support ostentatious living by pastors, and personally i haven't paid tithes in years ( I might decide to start again soon, i didnt stop because i believe its wrong) but for those that want to and are happy to, why are others crying more than the bereaved?

@OP
You said Nigerians are just stingy ... Does that include Muslims , atheist and Christians who do not pay or believe in paying tithes .
Then you are wrong.
One of the laws of Jesus is to feed , care and help the needy. Mat

A lot of Muslims may not pay tithes but they give to poor and help the needy .
Atheist do not believe in God but some do give to the poor and needy out of the goodness of their heart
Some Christians do not believe in tithing .. buy you will be amazed at the rate at which they give and help the poor and needy in the society . Some even give more than the tithers.

As for me... I pay my tithes. It is definitely more than 10%. usually up to 35%

And my "pastors" are somewhat accountable. Unfortunately, I don't really have a say in what they spend it on.

My tithes are called TAXES.

Nigerians are too stingy, those people against tithe are either atheist, Muslim or economist if you can track them

They are not stingy. They are full blown re.tards. Why do people tithe? Mostly for financial gain. Meanwhile, if you invest six thousand naira in a retirement fund every month for 20 years you will be a millionaire when you hit 45 to 50 years of age. Nigeria's system is not set up to educate it's people to this fact plus, Nigerians do not want to know. They prefer to languish on their knees hoping and praying for a better tomorrow instead of being on their feet with sleeves rolled up doing what need to be done. Only lazy people pray and believe in an imaginary god.

No one have been doubting if the church have been helping the poor.
We all know that all churches are also involved in giving to the poor and we commend the church for that. But that's not issue.
The issue is,
Is tithe money used to help the poor?
If that is the case we are very much ready to pay.
But if the money is used to fund your pastors flamboyant lifestyle on the bases that tithe are meant for pastors or priests as indicated in the old testament, then count us out.

So let your pastors specify what's the essence of tithing??

I will always say something, we do give gifts to pastors for propagating the gospel most of which the money is far beyond 10%. That is not tithe, it is called gift. We are very much in support of that, only that pastors should also propagate truth from the bible to the populace which they have failed in all standards, as a result, the state of the nation decays,
So we were forced to withdraw.

Not about stinginess, but about telling yourself the truth.

The selfish person here is the one that will dispute all freez point against tithe in other to continue collecting tithe.

Some of freeze point are:

(1) that Abraham pays tithe from the spoil of war not from his business. And it was only once.

(2) det-14, demand that you will use your tithe money to buy things which you and the needy will eat in the church not excluding the levite.

(3) that Jesus neither pay tithe nor collect one.

(4) that apostles neither pay nor collect tithe.

Anyone that think that the church will become poor for not collecting tithe is deceived.

Look, many here are aspiring pastors. Many are jobless and dream of big money through church business.

They are not interested in the Biblical truth about tithes. They want easy money. Others do not want to believe that the MoG they worship is collecting their money without biblical backing. Leave them to wallow in their ignorance and self deception. It is their money. grin cheesy

conviction as to not paying in church is understandable. But it seems dey are also convinced dat dey are supposed to give dat same percentage to d poor but how many of dem are doing it? The TAP challenge is about using ur 10% to help ppl as opposed to giving it to the church
d same thing we are saying. many people who pay tithe do it not out of conviction of about d purpose of tithing (which is 2 help d needy), but out of fear of d devourer&d expectation of open heavens cos that's what they have been taught. Now 4 d TAP 2 work just like tithing in churches, there has 2b a catch(reward)&maybe a threat attached 2 it.(for instance, what did it take 2 convince Nigerians 2 invest in MMM). When u look @ d way Nigerians react 2d insensitivity of our political leaders, there u will c our lack of conviction 4 any cause without an immediate pecuniary benefit. We can debate d issues but can't take d step 2 change d status quo 4a better tomorrow.

why do u assume that pastors are enriching themselves? Is it about tge church buildings? Or the private jets? Where dey bought in the church name or pastors name? If d pastor should pass on would those things belong to his family or the church? The church is a very big organization, if the church decides dat the most senior pastor should be bought a private jet, for the ease of the work of ministry is there anything wrong in dat knowing fully well that the Number one mandate Christ gave the church is to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature

Why deceive yourself? What happened to the regular flight services everyone else uses?? A private jet is a luxury, simple.

Jesus christ himself went around preaching the gospel, yet he carried himself as any normal citizen would, not as a high ranking pharisee did. But today's pastors in Nigeria live the luxurious lives of kings while accepting reverence from their followers.

All of them will claim "and the holy spirit spoke to me.." up and down, just to collect tithe.

Ezekiel 13:9 - My hand will be against the prophets who see false visions and who give lying divinations. They shall not be in the council of my people, nor be enrolled in the register of the house of Israel, nor shall they enter the land of Israel. And you shall know that I am the Lord God

Matthew 7:15 - Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.

Pastor Adeboye - "But please do not let anybody get you into trouble by attracting God’s curse to yourself, please pay your tithe"

did I mention 'offerings'?... Of course I do support giving offerings, donations.. Its basically a way to support the ministry of christ... But Tithing is not commanded by our Lord Jesus, if it was, it would have been stated clearly in the new testament as it was stated clearly in the old testament under the mosaic law. Those who paid tithe in the old testament were Jews following the Jewish law(mosaic law), I am a Nigerian also known as 'Gentiles' in the new testament.. Basically we as Nigerians are not under the Jewish law to pay TITHE. Moreover, I am a Christian, I am christ - like.. Christ never paid or collected tithe even the first apostles, so who am I to pay tithe. Jesus Christ taught us love, faith, grace, giving freely to the poor, widows, homeless without grudge or. Compulsion for God loves a cheerful giver. We can give freely out of our abundance to propagate and support the Gospel! Stop twisting the scriptures please like your GOs..it might interest you to know that i am a deeper life member.

Poverty mentality? Hahahahahaha. Just look at how you lower your brain just to defend your pastor and live in self denial. Can you afford a private jet? cheesy Even if they sell your entire family tree, can it even pay for 1 litre of jet fuel?

Private jets prices could range from $30m (10.8 billion naira) to well over $100m (36 billion naira). If having a private jet is now the criteria to guage whether or not somebody is poor, then almost everybody in Nigeria is living in poverty.

I feel sorry for you so let me help you with a little knowledge. Questioning tithing didn't start from Daddy Freeze or is it only Nigerians complaining. There are even books from other nationals about it, go and read.

And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed. And in their greed they will exploit you with false words.
