It's jist like in the bank. The people that make the most noise and criticize the bank are the ones with 3, 235 naira if you know what i mean. The ones with the small amounts make so much noise and threaten to close their accounts. The ones running the bank with their money are usually quiet..

You don't even know anything about how a Bank functions yet you type rubbish and try to seem smart.

The banks utilize a lot of ways to make money and one of those ways is lending (to other banks, govt & non govt corporations and individuals) and profit of interest.

So even someone that only has #500 naira in their account still contributes to the pool of money a bank has available to lend, so they actually help the bank function. Olodo.

nope, its poverty mindset dat makes u see private jets as luxury wen ppl like Kenneth Copeland and Joel osteen who are pastors move in private jets and Americans do not make issues out of it.

Even people who live in opulence see Private Jets as luxury. The money to acquire one is skyhigh. What about maintenance? And I'm sure you're pretty aware there's a pay-per-day parking fee on these jets. So why won't a sane mind see such thing is luxury?! Even the people who afford them know the worth and as such they don't use it anyhow.

It is only poor Nigerians like you who try to hard to prove that that aren't poor do their best to feign such things.

Be honest, all the money you have made from January 1st till now, is it enough to fuel a private for a one-way trip? How many members of your family own one? How many of your friends' private jets have you entered? Most importantly, when last did you service your private jet?

I'm Catholic, and like our priest said today tithe is not compulsory, and he went further to agree that it's a borrowed practice, and we borrowed it simply because of it's good side. He explained to us what the tithe money is used. No we do not pay workers because you're not paid to serve in the house of God. Neither is the money used to purchase vehicles to "further the propagation of the Gospel". Tithe is used chiefly and solely for works within the Church. That is why every Catholic church looks grand, which I feel is a just thing so everyone can actually benefit from their money. Because the money is used in the church and for the church alone, and not because the priest needs a new car or the church needs a new bus.

How many Pentecostal churches are like that?.

You assume your pastor uses your tithe to purchase private jets, you accept it in good fate, like sheep being led to the slaughter house, and when people from outside your denomination or faith begin to ask questions, you say they are judging your pastor. You say they are questioning God. You say they are involving themselves in matters that don't concern them. Whereas the problem is from you being overly sheepish and obsequious and raising your pastor to the level of a god that he becomes unquestionable and untouchable.

why den do u expect the churches to come and announce that dey are helping ppl in need? U said freeze won't force ppl to give to d poor do the churches force their members to tithe? Tithing is about conviction. There are a lot of church workers dat do not tithe
There is absolutely no where freeze asked that churches disclose or force people to disclose what they do with their tithe!
He used scriptures to enlighten them about the manipulation most pastors use in getting people to tithe such as incurring a strange curse or disease or maybe a so-called devourer....

All freeze is asking is that we study the bible and unlearn some things most preachers have been telling themselves or others about tithe!

let me ask U a question.... does the scripture in Deuteronomy 14:22-29 include the needy, homeless and strangers as part of tithe?

did I mention 'offerings'?... Of course I do support giving offerings, donations.. Its basically a way to support the ministry of christ... But Tithing is not commanded by our Lord Jesus, if it was, it would have been stated clearly in the new testament as it was stated clearly in the old testament under the mosaic law. Those who paid tithe in the old testament were Jews following the Jewish law(mosaic law), I am a Nigerian also known as 'Gentiles' in the new testament.. Basically we as Nigerians are not under the Jewish law to pay TITHE. Moreover, I am a Christian, I am christ - like.. Christ never paid or collected tithe even the first apostles, so who am I to pay tithe. Jesus Christ taught us love, faith, grace, giving freely to the poor, widows, homeless without grudge or. Compulsion for God loves a cheerful giver. We can give freely out of our abundance to propagate and support the Gospel! Stop twisting the scriptures please like your GOs..it might interest you to know that i am a deeper life member.
wow.. Now u r sounding..... .. U don't think the offering money can as well be used to feed d poor? Do u realize dat money collected as offering is even more than tithes? 80% of members in churches dat support tithing do not even tithe

Poverty mentality? Hahahahahaha. Just look at how you lower your brain just to defend your pastor and live in self denial. Can you afford a private jet? cheesy Even if they sell your entire family tree, can it even pay for 1 litre of jet fuel?

Private jets prices could range from $30m (10.8 billion naira) to well over $100m (36 billion naira). If having a private jet is now the criteria to guage whether or not somebody is poor, then almost everybody in Nigeria is living in poverty.

I feel sorry for you so let me help you with a little knowledge. Questioning tithing didn't start from Daddy Freeze or is it only Nigerians complaining. There are even books from other nationals about it, go and read.

2 Peter 2:1-3 - But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed. And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.
poverty is a thing of the mind... Dats how u end up being jealous of successful people as if dey were d ones who sentenced u to perpetual poverty. Bible said tithes should be paid to Orphan, Levites, motherless, Fatherless, and poor people generally. People who want to give them poor people should do so. They are not expected to upload proof to u.

neither do u expect the pastors to upload their proofs of assistance to the poor. secondly, freeze set up a challenge for pastors' critics to come to the rescue of the poor, u, how did u respond to his clarion call? talk is indeed cheap and empty vessels make d loudest noise. where were u when these men were pursuing God whole heartedly at a point when d church was poor? daddy GO resigned as a lecturer. why are people frustrated by others ' glory? u people said tithe collection is a sin yet, u want sinful monies to be used for the poor. if u can open a church, why wouldn't u develop ur talent , make money and kill poverty in the world?

During the lifetime of Jesus, the holy temple in Jerusalem was the center of Jewish religious life.
The temple was the place where animal sacrifices were carried out and worship according to the Law of Moses followed faithfully.
Hebrews 9:1-9 tells us that in the temple a veil separated the Holy of Holies—the earthly dwelling place of God’s presence—from the rest of the temple where men dwelt.
This signified that man was separated from God by sin (Isa 59
Only the high priest was permitted to pass beyond this veil once each year (Exo 30; Heb 9 to enter into God's presence for all of Israel and make atonement for their sins (Lev16)

If you believed Moses, you would believe me; for he wrote of me.”John 5..,,,,Moses wrote about Christ.,Jesus came to fulfill all that was written in the Law and the Prophets. All of it was pointing to him

“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished.mat 5

What significance does this torn veil have for us today? the moment Jesus died

1.When Jesus died, the veil was torn, and God moved out of that place never again to dwell in a temple made with hands (Acts 17:24 the temple and Jerusalem were left “desolate luk 13<35

2, the veil was symbolic of Christ Himself as the only way to the Father (John 14:6). This is indicated by the fact that the high priest had to enter the Holy of Holies through the veil. no one comes to the Father but through Me. No middlemen.

3 The blood sacrifices ceased because Christ fulfilled all that they were pointing toward. He was the final sacrifice for sins.Heb 9 "He entered once for all into the holy places, not by means of the blood of goats and calves but by means of his own blood, thus securing an eternal redemption.”

4 The physical temple has ceased to be the geographic center of worship. Now, Christ himself is the center of worship. He is the “temple” where we meet God. not Mecca, not Jerusalem. John 4:21, 23, true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth.

5 John 2:19, 21, “‘Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.’ . . . Jesus was speaking about the temple of his body.” He died and rose up the third day. I cor 15.

The people of God are no longer ethnic group or a nation-state. Eph 2<14Paul is speaking about how we Gentiles, who were called the uncircumcision , were separated from Chris (v. 12) but have now been brought near to God) by the blood of Christ (v. 13). United both Jew and Gentile into one group in Christ.

Christ fulfilled the Law on our behalf and offers the power of the Holy Spirit..For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

All believer must abide by the law of Christ>Jesus exercises an authority to which men are expected to comply .
.Bear one another’s burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ (Gal. 6:2). Paul acknowledged that he was “under law to Christ

Love , righteousness must exceed pharisees , Giving and helping the poor and needy , praying, repentance, Evangelism, holiness , salvation, judging other without judging ourselves , submission to law of the spirit, consequences of sin and kingdom of heaven (1 Cor. 9:21). MAT 5> 20

The “law of the Spirit” is the same as the gospel, the new covenant system

I personally believe all the rituals , tithing has stopped ..The same God who gave the Law also gave Jesus John 3:16. His grace was demonstrated through the Law by providing the sacrificial system to cover sin. Jesus was born “under the law” (Galatians 4:4) and became the final sacrifice to bring the Law to fulfilment and establish the New Covenant . Luke 22>20 "And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.

Lol.. I didn't bother to read finish. When you compared bazaars to tithe, I immediately realised what kind of person I'm arguing with. But now my eyes just glanced at where you wrote Pope Francis has a Private Jet.. Lol.. It is the Vatican city, not the pope that has the Jet. Vatican City is a country where Pope is the head of state. The Private Jet comes with the office, as so does the Pope Mobile. The Pope's personal car is a 1980 ride like that. Apart from that the only other thing he owns are his Papal vestments which are buried with him when he dies. The ring which adorns his finger is passed to the next Pope.

Okay, go ahead to mention one institution or organization that has and is doing more charity works than the Catholic church..

Go ahead..

I'm waiting...

Okay we're bored. None ey?
What funds these? Bazaar money. You see the Catholic church operates a very orderly hierarchical system. Bazaar money is sent to the Archdiocese which remits everything to Rome. I've forgotten how exactly Rome shares this, but I've once been told. It's no hidden fact.

I noticed further inaccuracies still. Reverend sisters don't get paid. Reverend Father's receive a stipend that is so huge that only few of them can single handedly buy themselves a car. But I feel the stipend doesn't even go a halfway to make up for the works they do. I won't even argue with you, but it's a very unarguable fact that the average Reverend Father does more work than most of these GOs. But I digress.

The crux of the matter is the facts you stated are a no brainer and are just laced with lies, ignorance and unnecessary show of emotion.

Poverty - The state of being poor.

Poor - lacking sufficient money to live at a standard considered comfortable or normal in a society.

Oga, you are either a BLOODY liar or you have the highest degree is gross ignorance. BLOODY, because you will have blood on your hands after you have used your lies to deceive gullible sheeple that will follow you to hell after you have lied to them with what is never written in the bible. Pls respond to this by clearly quoting the exact passage in the bible that says tithes should be paid to orphans, motherless, fatherless or poor people. Pls quote it for us to see. The last i know, the bible clearly stated in Malachi 3, "bring ye all the tithes into my storehouse that there may be meat in my house".

Do you want to tell us that motherless and poor people live in the storehouse of God's house and so they will be there receiving the tithes when people bring them?

In addition to what you quoted, does it occur to you that Levites in the old testament are the equivalent of Pastors in new testament? Do you know that Levites consists of the Priests and members of the tribe of Levi who were commanded by God to only work in the temple and were forbidden from farming or doing any other work apart from temple work?

Next time, read your bible before you come to public and show your ignorance. As the poster rightly said, the only reason why most people refuse to pay tithe is because of GREED! They think 10% of whatever they earn is too much to give out to God, so they will want to twist the bible to give themselves justification for not having to pay tithes!

It is appalling that you would minimize the #10 and #20 offerings of your members.

You should read the teachings of the Bible about the widow's mite.

And this is the big reason why people are making a big fuss about Church donations. It is all about the money and little to do with God.
God looks at the heart of a man not the amount. When you start from #10 let's face it 10 naira can't do much in nigeria today, but God sees your heart and he is pleased then he begins to prune you and bless you more and if you keep moving with God and increasing your giving the more he keeps blessing you because he has said give and it will be given unto you, not in an equal fold but in good measure, pressed down, shaking together and running over.
It takes a spiritual mind to understand these things and I tell you the 2% of people that I mentioned who fund 80% of ministry work, most of them started from #10 and #20 tithes and offerings but they were faithful so God promoted them now they give in millions and billions.

Are you sure you are alright? Did you really go to school at all?? sad You must be brain dead saying that poverty is a thing of the mind.

Poverty - The state of being poor.

Poor - lacking sufficient money to live at a standard considered comfortable or normal in a society.

You are laughing at me for not donating 1 billion naira to a church when you sound like somebody that can't even manage 2 meals every week.

Don't you know that it's desperate people like you that are easy for these pastors to exploit...oh boy, are all the sheeples as dumb as this guy? shocked
Mr English teacher u r noticed. Ur President cant speak better but he is still ur President. U r pained cos dat ur neighbor is not using his tithe to help u out of ur state.. Well u can keep waiting for those who will give u alms

Lol, no wonder it is easy to exploit you. Your father must have used condom money to give tithe now he has ended up with an illiterate pikin. It is just a pity.

Im talking scientist here
I think tithing is a personal thing like I did imply earlier. It also has to do with what u believe and your faith. I won't be against it cos it works.

This true and this is what the leaders of the churches should promote rather than telling preaching against such freedom of exression

How many Pentecostal churches are like that?

U are right smiley

How many Pentecostal churches are like that?. Hard to find .. some feels if they are not wealth or poor it is cos they are not paying tithes...lets look at the life of Jesus

Many believers want to get away from the fact that suffering is part and parcel of our calling as Christians. The disciple of Christ faced lot of challenges and lived uncomfortable lives ....

wealth alone does not equal God’s blessing, and God’s blessing does not equal wealth alone ...some keep making material wealth a sign of God’s favour. If anyone was favoured by God, it was Jesus. But He lives a life of very little material wealth and then even ends up suffering on a cross

Not being rich or well off doesn’t make you a failure > We saw that in the life of Jesus and we still believe him. God’s way is ‘little by little’ while the world’s way is “now!”

phil 4.11 paul implies that wealth is not necessarily a sign of God’s blessing, but hardworking and contentment .

Jesus rode on a borrowed donkey to Jerusalem.. Jesus never collected Tithes

Yes God bless some believers with wealth to be used for His purposes. It is not something to be coveted, it is not a reward for obedience, and it is not something we should expect. There is nothing specifically wrong with being wealthy, but as Jesus said in Matthew 6:19-21, To whom more is given, more is required.

In fact, Jesus explained that wealth can discourage some from following Him. In Luke 18:18-30, the rich young ruler

Jesus rather lived within His means, and that means wasn’t a lot, and He wasn’t embarrassed about it and certainly didn’t see this as tainting God’s testimony. Contentment , preaching and hardworking.

He didn’t seem to have a lot of money at all and yet never seemed anxious about it and called them to join Him in this lifestyle.

Jesus and his disciples all had jobs . He was a carpenter .. They all had a money purse kept by Judas ...John 12:6...
Jesus was funded from donations, but he never asked for the donations or tithes Luke 8:3 and use the donation to feed the poor in their community . When they did nt have much savings .. they had ask around the crowd ..so they could feed the people . Jesus suggests that the disciples feed the five thousand and they mention that all the money they have is “…two hundred denarii Mark 6

Jesus paid tax to ceasar .Jesus did not invest in properties > Mark 1> He also hang out at Peter house *the married one * ..

They were very tolerant > they were not offended when people broke his roof to lower the paralysed man.

when Jesus wants to be generous, it seems he trusts God to provide him the opportunity to do so (the feeding of the five thousand and four thousand are examples). . He seems to do what we might think are “foolish” things and expects God to provide.

He didn’t even sort out His death plans – a grave had to be donated to Him by Joseph of Arimathea, a rich disciple looking for kingdom of God. (Luke 23: 50-56 > "

Jesus sent His disciples to minister and told them not to bother about money > mat10.9>12 Acquire no gold or silver or copper for your belts, 10 no bag for your journey, or two tunics or sandals or a staff, for the laborer deserves his food. 11 And whatever town or village you enter, find out who is worthy in it and stay there until you depart. He ask them to go to people ..not that people shld come to them.

Jesus asks His disciples if they lacked anything to do this > luk 22> 35 "and he said to them, “When I sent you out with no money bag or knapsack or sandals, did you lack anything?” They said, “Nothing.” 36 He said to them, “But now let the one who has a money bag take it, and likewise a knapsack. And let the one who has no sword sell his cloak and buy one. .. learn to save .

He did not ask us to tithe so we could have more blessings ... He asked us to be kind , giving and generous to the poor and needy ...part of criteria to make heaven.
As long as a ministry is promoting the kingdom of God and helping the poor % needy as Jesus commanded... I will support in giving not tithing.

Hahahaha, just look at you. You try to quote me but its still obvious you don't even know anything or understand what i posted grin

So everybody that enters a bank that and uses a withdrawal slip has only 500 naira in their account? cheesy Chai...is your brain problem hereditary? Such a pity o haha

You quoted me ignorantly because you are probably amongst those wailing about tithes. Your brain is too tiny to understand that a 500 customer cannot match a 100m customer.
You just talk loosely without thinking. You can only know what is hereditary in your own family. Please dont rope me into this your family's brain problems that you mentioned.

The 500 naira people u are trying to insult, are they not better than you? You sound like someone that cannot even raise 500 even if you use all your family and do ritual. It's just a pity that brain dead people like you have somehow found a way to access Internet. sad

"""Malachi 3, "bring ye all the tithes into my storehouse that there may be meat in my house"""

Go back to ur Bible and read it, the worse problem in Christianity is gross ignorance.

The meaning of the word Malachi - Malakhi in Hebrew means ""The Prophets"". The book of Malachi is a warning to Levites/Pastors n priests who refused to bring In ALL the
Tithes given to them. Pls respect ur self n read the whole book of Malachi to understand the book before u spew Trash.

Deuteronomy 26 vs 12 - When you have finished setting aside a tenth of all your produce in the third year, the year of the tithe, you shall give it to the Levite, the foreigner, the fatherless and the widow, so that they may eat in your towns and be satisfied.

Deuteronomy 14 vs 28 - At the end of every three years, bring all the tithes of that year’s produce and store it in your towns, 29 so that the Levites (who have no allotment or inheritance of their own) and the foreigners, the fatherless and the widows who live in your towns may come and eat and be satisfied, and so that the Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hands.

I'm waiting.
