Beremx: Beware, if you mention Orlu and its roads abandoned by Okorocha government, Rochas will reply you with building a new six lanes or Inland Road in Owerri, even where no body lives by. Nepotism, Extremely Hard hearted - Rochas Okorocha and his government. Rochas Okorocha is not from Orlu; not from Okigwe. He therefore chose Owerri as only place worthy of his government's development projects. Orlu and Okigwe have become dustbins of Imo state under Rochas Okorocha. In the History of Imo State, no governor has been so sectional, so hate-filled-- Even Four Wheel Drive SUVs can no longer pass through the internal roads in Orlu urban, except the four roads (about 5km total) dualized in Orlu in 2012. |

londoner: Owerri has decent residential neighbourhoods all round and there is accelerated estate development all the way to Obinze which is 10km off city center but if you have money just invest in New Owerri area and be happy.

Three senatorial zones make up a state. But a state governor, Rochas Okorocha, RECREATED the state of Imo to become one senatorial zone - Owerri. Once in a while, Okorocha government extends a pittance to Orlu and Okigwe zones. Rochas Okorocha's cheer leaders cheer the governor to political oblivion after May 29, 2019 as he governs only Owerri zone.. |

hornyofife: Land in Owerri is very affordable. Land has finished in the area I posted but there is somewhere called Area TA you can get for only 15million and Area U for a little more. There are also estates outside the city you can get a plot for as low as 1 million or less like Tehilla gardens at Naze and more at Irette, Avu and Obinze. One thing is that the urban renewal caused appreciation of real estate value within tge city. Area TA for example was 2.5 million in 2015 but now 15 to 20 million. |

Abagworo: With the rate, lands are being sold in Owerri soon there will be nothing left to accommodate the populations that are exploding. It is time property developers start building up. Penthouses and apartments like the one the pictures are what Owerri or Southeast, in general, need we are in an area that is densely populated, and we can't afford to sale all our lands and nothing will be left for agriculture. 3 Likes

jamjo: You have a point but most investors in Owerri opt for luxury duplex instead of high-rise. Most other Igbo cities have high concentration of high-rise residential buildings than Owerri. Personally I don't like living in public house which is one of the reasons I seem to prefer Owerri than most Southeastern cities. There are areas in Owerri with highrise residential buildings like Tetlow, Douglas, Amakohia but they are considered slum and house mostly the poorer class. World Bank housing is a bungalow slum too.The lower middle class in Owerri live in well planned Ikenegbu, Aladinma, Federal housing, Uratta housing, Transegbu, Prefab etc. while upper middle class live mostly at Works, Shell camp/GRA, Various estates at Egbeada and then New Owerri where there is a mix of high class and upper middle class. I discussed this particular issue with a friend at how amazingly Nworie River seems to divide Owerri into 2 classes of people. We also noticed that Owerri and Enugu are the 2 Igbo cities where your area of residence suggests your class. In other Igbo cities there seem to be no marked areas for the affluents aside GRA. |

Abagworo you like deceiving yourself. Most of Owerri is majorly public houses mainly old bungalows and semi block of old flats. You come online everyday to lie and do your propaganda as if we don't know everything on ground. One can hardly find a sea of decent well developed and planned area in Owerri filled with only duplexes except scanty development at the party of Owerri near PH road. Below are my personal pictures of Owerri residential areas for residents. Someone raised an issue of major concern but you left it out only to dribble yourself thinking you are deceiving anyone. BeijinDossier: To Chino everyone is Abagworo. What Imo1stson wrote is true and your posting Onitsha photos won't change it. Even a blind man can notice the difference in building pattern among cities. |

Re: Few Pics From Imo State by BeijinDossier: 9:21pm On Jan 01, 2018 |
Just look at this cursed old man, you created Imo1stson to further improve on your propaganda but we all knew from day one. Building pattern in Owerri for the masses should be developed into high density to save land, just like seen in some selected hoods in Onitsha and Enugu, while GRAs like seen in every state should not be used for your usual propaganda. Below are pictures from Owerri residential areas. Look at even the soil colour on the roads. Stop being silly old man Abagworo: 1 Like

BeijinDossier: Anyaufu egbukwala gi daa. You can't group Onitsha with Enugu as Enugu has fewer slums in the city and even outside whereas Onitsha is 99% slum with 1% as tiny GRA. Independence layout, New Haven, Trans Ekulu and even the GRA alone which is half the size of Onitsha landmass stands Enugu out in addition to dozens of well planned residential estates. Maybe you compare Onitsha with Amaechi, Achara layout(Awkunanaw) and Abakpa Nike. |
Re: Few Pics From Imo State by BeijinDossier: 10:31pm On Jan 01, 2018 |
Lol..are you pained that i said the truth? Owerri is 100% slum. Get into your head. Owerri is the only igbo town you will see old dirty houses all over. Onitsha has Trans Nkisi, 3-3, GRA 1,2,3 while Enugu has Trans Ekulu, New Haven, GRA but Owerri has none. Onitsha has almost zero slum. Yes Owerri should emulate Onitsha and Enugu in building decent homes. In this order: Trans Nkisi, 3-3, GRA1, GRA2, GRA3, just these 3 areas put together is bigger than Owerri. Plots of land in Owerri, Old Owerri is 50 x 100 and New Owerri mostly government allocation is 60 x120 and some Old owerri like Old FH, Ikenegbu, Aladinma is 60 x120 and mapped out by Mbakwe Ikenegbu is 15m to 30m and u will only build 3 floor building 3 floor building is 45 to 70m Aladinma= I dont think there is any empty space again unless you are buying the building which is 25m to 40m depending Uratta West where development is moving now in old owerri And along MCC road before Chakus Spot or Toronto Junction is 7m inside and to 15m and same as Uratta East Toronto Junction is 5m to 10m Imsu Side is 7m to 20m due to hostels New Owerri Concorde Hotel side = 25m and above New Owerri Umuguma side = 10m and above Udenwa Estate = 30m and above Graceland = 17m and above Amakaohia = 7m and above Okohia = 8m and above Conclusion: If you want to buy a good land in owerri not outskit like Obrinze, Irette and Aba Road just budget 7m and above plus minus in Old Owerri amd from 15m and above in New Owerri. CONCORDE HOTEL SIDE OF NEW OWERRI IS 25M AND ABOVE |
