Hello House!

Hope you are all good. Thank you all for your contributions and continued participation.

I have been a silent follower for a while now. Rejoicing with all successful applicants and sympathising with those who have to wait ( just like me).

I have been on a very long journey! here is a short summary of my issues.

- I was classed as an overstayer in the UK.

- I voluntarily returned in 2016 to apply for spouse visas.

- 1st application was denied due to incorrect claims by the ECO that we do not meet financial requirements.

- 2nd application was denied for the same reason and other incorrect claims that I sated I was self employed etc. It sounded as if they were looking at someone else's application.

We Appealed, the hearing was in October 2017. Appeal won.

Now we have been following up with HO. My hubby emailed HO, got a response to provide certain information to allow them trace my application. No response.

Hubby called HO, they said we need to wait until 8th December - still no response.

Hubby called HO, they said we need to wait 15 working days for a response as it had been escalated. The escalation deadline for HO to respond was on 11th January 2018 (yes, we took into account all the bank holidays in December/ January) - no response.

As at last week Friday 12th Jan, we were told the matter will be re-escalated and we should just wait. When we asked them if this would be any different from the first escalation that HO seem to have ignored, they said “no”...

Guys, this whole spouse visa process has taken more than 2 years. Yes, 2 years. It has been a very long and tiring wait. All we want is to be together.

Please what are your thoughts? What action should we now take?

Thanks in advance.

It's simply UKBA's method of inflicting punishment. Do you know your local MP?

To be honest with you, it will be difficult for anyone to dig out list of documents for spousal application on this forum. I will advise you do what i and most nairaland students did in order to get a successful application.
Read from Pages 1 to date, note all you can and ask questions on this thread based on specific topics. It will be easier for the house to attend to your issues that way.
Hope I made sense

Oh yes you did make sense
Thank you very much
I appreciate your response

Only one reason. Eco said I didn't meet English language requirement. I included my masters certificate which I obtained from a top uk university and yet Eco said I didn't meet the requirement when the appendix fm immigration rule clearly states that it is a way of proving English language eligibility. My spouse and I could have clearly appealed the decision but we do not have luxury of time.
Let's just be prayerful that oloriburuku Eco will not attend to our case o.
