It is not a laughing question. It is a fair question.

If someone is senselessly saying there are no brown roofs in Enugu and Onitsha, one needs to ask the person when did development reach those places.

It is as stupid as someone saying there are no face-me-I-face-you buildings in Lekki. Obviously as development did not reach Lekki until more than 100 years after it reached Ikeja/Agege, then Lekki would not have such but Ikeja/Agege would have. Lekki's buildings would be more modern.

In another 100 years, we may be laughing at Lekki and the types of buildings there.

Oyinbos have been living in and settled in Ibadan for over a 170 years and trading with them for more than 300 years. Also oyinbo activity was more intense in the SW than any other part of Nigeria, so one can see how some of Ibadan's development is old and historic.

Ibadan is also one of the largest cities by population in Africa, not just Nigeria, so one should expect to see a mix of accommodation there.
Correct.

Be civil in an attempt to buttress your point. Anyway, I am not surprise having live with Ibadan people for years. If you have some common sense, you shouldn't have think that I am from South East which is not only your problem but an average Yoruba man's problem. May you receive some common sense IJN.

Back to your point, have you ever being to Enugu or Imo? I am very sure you haven't as typical of Ibadan man - primary sch, Ibadan, Sec Sch, Ibadan, BSc, Ibadan, MSc, Ibadan and possibly PhD, Ibadan. It's called inbreeding. It doesn't usher in common sense.

How many roads in IB can two cars comfortably move simultaneously from opposite directions if not the few that Ajimobi has worked on? Go to Owerri and Enugu, capital cities as well and see virtually all their streets.

Who are the owners of majority of the houses in Aerodrome? Are they not the same Igbos who you want to crucify?

I like you sha just the same way I like my Ibadan friends and colleagues. It's only in Ibadan I can still enter taxi #20 even with this miserable APC government Ibadan people gave us. Lol

You tried.Ibadan is more developed than the 5 eastern states joined together.

Last week i drove into ibadan from Lagos went through challenge, ringroad, Jericho all the way to Eleyele farm settlement. All good roads no traffic congestion. Indeed Ajumobi has transformed Ibadan. I agree it's SW best kept secret. Never knew we had such a jewel in Ibadan. Our knowledge of Ibadan has always been limited to Lagos ibadan express road

Kudos to Ajumobi
Kudos to the capital of Yoruba land
Kudos to every Omo Odua
sure.

My brother and friend, five Nigerian cities of which Ibadan is one no doubt is looking at population size which is seen as market in economics and not necessarily development as you think.

Abeg, make we leave talk for turkey, Ibadan try no doubt. Courtesy of Igbo business men and academics. However, people that are living below poverty line in that city is four much. The misery index of IB is six much. It is the city I have seen the highest level of begging followed by Osogbo.

Stop deceiving yourself please. It's not an issue of whether I will come to IB. I make my money, at least my first #1m from IB years ago, but will be the last person to think of building a house there.

While I am not holding brief for the person you replied, I have been monitoring this thread since yesterday, I can see various absurdity, uncivilized & arrant nonsense in what the people you are defending posted.Though, it is expected because for years on nairaland, they always attack the brown roof cities which I have never seen you defended or making comment provided it keeps the thread alive. Nobody will stand his father's house being insulted without a defence, except a bastard, though it pays to keep quiet on social media because you don't know the exposure of the other fellow.

I have spent 6 yrs in the East before. Anybody who wants to relocate to Ibadan can visit the site below for some of the estates .

http://www.citypeopleonline.com/10-popular-estates-ibadan-rich-live/

I always laugh when people refer to a particular region as brown roof. There are brown roofs in every city in Southern part of Nigeria.
The guy I mentioned started it all, pls let's enjoy this thread coz I'm about being posted to Ibadan.

States that has plenty of malls good housing Estate in Nigeria with good number of foreigners are 5 which are Lagos,Abuja,ph,Ibadan and kano.
ibadan has more mall housing estate, media houses sky line building top notch schools and parks than some region of 6 and 5 state put together in Nigeria.
The next gov after ajimobi must work more on infrastructure,Ibadan is a secret of the south west.

Just avoid the Bere /Oje areas and you will be fine.

Ibadan is cool and calm, very affordable.

You may also want to be careful with any 'Idi' related area. Never can't come to terms with such names.

You people really need to stop all this threads about Ibadan
I'm missing my city like mad. Lagos is not the place for me. It's only occupation that's keeping me here in Lagos. Once I get a job or a stable online business, I'm out of this over-populated over-priced, overrated, dirty Lagos.

But your tiny Igboland does not have good properties compared to SW states now: grin

Top 10: Most Expensive Property Locations in Nigeria.

Banana Island in Ikoyi, Lagos leads a list of the most expensive property locations in Nigeria.

In Banana Island, a 3 bedroom apartment typically sells for N100Million ($625,000) and N450Million ($2.81Million) for a 5 bedroom house. Rental properties are very popular in this location and rent for a 3 bedroom apartment is typically N10 Million ($63,000) per annum.

Oluwafemi Taiwo, Managing Director at PrivateProperty.com.ng, said: “We have listed over 100,000 properties since inception from over 2,000 real estate agents. This data was gathered by analysis of the price of properties listed on the website over this period”.

In Nigeria, there has been a surge in the adoption of technology by real estate practitioners whom in addition to listing their properties with portals also own and manage websites and a social media presence for their activities. According to the report, 6 in 10 estate agents own a website while 3 in 10 use social media to market their properties.

It is important to note that luxury rental property is the most popular and lucrative property category in these highbrow areas in Nigeria. These properties are mainly demanded by expatriates and non-residents who are interested in running their business activities in Nigeria. Oluwafemi stated that almost 50% of enquiries received via PrivateProperty.com.ng are from individuals outside Nigeria: expatriates and Nigerians in diaspora.
