Good day house.
A friend just checked his visa application status, and it says "...your processed passport is ready for pickup..." as at Friday, 8th June 2018. He didn't receive any mail to this effect, neither did he receive any mail about medicals.

Please what could this mean cause he is already losing his mind.

What does the person's online account say? assuming the person applied online or linked their application online.

No biometric mail yet o.
Though mine is saying ''We are processing background check" . I don't know if it is the update they meant.
Oshey9999:

This is exactly the same profile for my friend. I think they we're referring to the start of background review. No biometric request yet after 48 hours of online application.

Good day,
I'm experiencing the same too. Please let me know when you get your biometric instruction letter.
Thanks.

@nacos, it is normal. Just be patient for the next two weeks. If no changes in your account, you can send them a mail. And also forget all these things about travel history. They will review your application and get back to you. Pray and stay positive.

Good day All. Pls @chisiudeh and others who just submitted application & haven’t received biometrics instruction letter, kindly advise if your biometrics had been taken in a recent past application submitted by u. Current Info on CIC site states that starting from Summer of 2018 (i.e. June 2018) an applicants biometrics will be submitted once & kept in the CIC database for a period of 10 years before another request for biometrics.

Hello house, I was refused TRV twice.
First refusal...PGD Business Admin.was denied on the ground of inconsistency of previous level of education, insufficient fund and travel history.
Second refusal...MBA was denied on the ground of inconsistency of previous level of education and employment history though I am a graduate of computer science(Bsc) computing (Msc) however, am the one managing the family business hence the MBA.
What should I do please.

Apart from you applying with your children, I think some other things didn't look convincing in your app. From the GCMS note, it seems you have been working for some years now1 and you didn't show enough funds(personal fund).
Kindly share your profile(your academic history, working history, funding etc), so I can have better idea of your case.
NB: I always advise the principal applicant to apply alone first then apply for children or spouse once he/she has gotten trv but that doesn't mean people haven't been getting it when the whole family applies together. Pls share your profile

Hi guys!

To all those who have traveled to Canada or have the knowledge, I have a few enquiries.

1. I would love to get the contact of Olamide or anyone who can help me with securing cheap flights.

2. What advice would you give me as I prepare for my travel so that I have a hitch free settlement in Canada.

Any idea you have is highly welcome.

Well since I am also awaiting the MBA unconditional admission letter from Thompson Rivers, I guess your brother has already paid CAD$ 7500 for the first semester tuition fees. So that combined with a bank letter & signed letter by your brother should according to me a sign of good faith. Also add some birth certificates to show the family relation, police certificate & proofs of ties to come back to Nigeria like a career plan once you end your studies.

I am currently perfecting my SOP in await of the admission letter. This is my email if you want us to share tips: adildil56@gmail.com.

I hope we all get the TRV by God’s grace & go to Kamloops come this Fall 2018!!!!
thank you.are you also using your brother as a sponsor and do you think I can still go on with the application or just defer till January considering the time frame

Good day guys. I just noticed that my background check is being reviewed on my status. I checked yesterday no updates on upfront medical, Eligibility etc. I applied Apr 13th and only my biometrics reads "completed".
My question is do VOs work weekend?

If you have a valid visitor visa, or a study or work permit, and you gave your biometrics in the past, your biometrics are valid from the date you gave your biometrics for a period of 10 years. You do not need to give your biometrics until the 10-year period expires.

Boss you have a nice profile. Why don't you go for a PhD that comes with funding, but if you still insist on going for a Masters degree, you shouldn't mention you have a Masters already. Just show your previous and present work experience to cover the gap since you finished your 1st degree.

Thanks bro.

I actually missed out on the application deadline for the MSc program for next winter season and also didn't realize ontime that I had to write the professors first.
That's why I want to maximize this MEng.Just trying to figure out the best way to convince the VO.

Hello ma

From your GCSM notes, I don't think you have any problem with your finances. Seem to me that this is a problem of SOP.

You did not convince VO why you should be going for MBA at this point considering the responsibility of taking care of 3 children. Did you explain to him why you choose Canada and not Nigeria? Why you would incur so much expenses (you and 3 kids) just to get MBA? Finally, how would you apply it when you come back to Nigeria?

You need to explain these things and be as specific as possible and with facts and proofs. Finally ma, with your work experience, you may want to check Express Entry option.

My one cent though

Advice from andre99 is a good one!

@ lonelydude, I have seen applicants that have a masters degree and are going for a second masters degree in Canada and were approved of their visas, you can as well do same. But, your reasons for opting out for a second masters degree at this point in time instead of a Phd, must be justifiable.

Lastly, With your level of education and working experiences you stand a better chance if you go through Express entry. Being a permanent resident of Canada, you're entitled to many goodies. To mention a few, your tuition will be rated same as a citizen of Canada, you don't have to pay exorbitant international students fee, you can also relocate your family(wife and kids) to Canada without restrictions.

Thanks for the advice bro.

I actually wanted to attempt the Express Entry but age factor made CRS very low.Even improved IELTS will; CRS still remains low.
Still researching on PNP though.
Like I said earlier; greatest challenge now is how to convince the VO on second masters justification.

But I think first time applicants should get email for biometric immediately if this new rule is in force now.

My friend is a first time applicant. He applied on June 7 (3 days ago) and no biometric email till now. Background check is currently being processed.

I think there has been changes in the way they process applications. I could remember I got my biometric email immediately after submitting my online application and background check didn't commence until after six weeks.
