SmartPolician:

People do it, but long-distance travels at this time is stressful and time-consuming. I will never advise anyone to embark on it at this time.

State taskforces charge between 1-5k per Sienna bus. They don't even care about physical distance. I can write a book about my travel from Enugu to Lagos yesterday because it is horrible and lachrymose.

The annoying part is that the police has increased their settlement to N500. Some of them charge up to #1k. Nobody negotiates with them. I felt pity for our driver when he settled over 10 checkpoints between the 2 edges of Onitsha-Asaba Bridge

It's even heartbreaking that the military has joined. What the soldiers usually do is to use a villager in mofti to collect the #500 at their checkpoints. I thought they said those guys were disciplined

We all know that this country is fvcked, but what I don't understand is why we don't seem to be worried about it.

When there was no lockdown sef, when ever I travelled to sokoto (school) from Lagos, our driver settles nothing less than 20 soldier's check points, like 5 immigration's checkpoints and like 2 NDLEA's checkpoints. Nigeria's problem is all rounder

All this once they are saying, they should please open our interstate borders let's get back to our normal life, besides people have been traveling all through the lock down.

let us address the real issue, we all know the advantages of the lockdown but due to sabotage by our SECURITY TEAM which jeopardised the gain. Let us channel our synergy towards the main culprit. The earlier 1st 3 weeks lockdown was enough to control the virus in Nigeria but the sabotage ruined it despite the sacrifice of Hunger, loss of income, etc
You people find fault in others floating lockdown rules, i believe you have also floated the lockdown rule, do you think lockdown only mean not going to work?

As far as i am concerned lockdown will never work in Nigeria, check UJ, Germany, Italy, those are places lockdown worked.

USA have what it takes to lockdown for 1year but no, they are opening up, lockdown is not about giving people some cup of rice or some 20k to eat, you have to think about the economic damage it will cause, imagine Nigeria's dead economy with lockdown.

Lockdown did not effectively work in any democratic nation, even Russia are since out for business.

As far as am concerned, interstate ban only exist on paper but not in reality & it's quite unfortunate. Government also disappointed Nigerians greatly because they failed in their responsibility to contain the spread of this virus despite sacrifices made my Nigerians
You dey mind them? When i tell people that government want this Pandemic to continue they argue, if not, what stop them from neing proactive in the fight, conduct massive tests and isolate then go back to business...

UK are about to cancel their 2 metre rule, Germany have done that. Some Africa countries have opened up their economy while Nigeria is still sleeping.

Policemen, Soldiers and the likes are just cashing out from the so-called inter-state lockdown.
Am not even going to mention the main guys doing the cashout...their own mata don tire coronavirus self. In fact the thing just weak the guy (coronavirus).

Corruption is the major problem in this country. Nothing is working because of corruption
