Ohaneze kept mum, an Peter Obi remain to talk? Lol! Kanu will just jejely announce in his next broadcast that the enemy of the Igbo people is Peter Obi and the next thing is IPOB following the poor man like flies to beat him up like they did Ike Ekweremadu grin

Oga, Forget talk. IPOB na group of unrestrained cowards. They cannot do Peter Obi anything. What happened to Ekweremadu last year was just a mere coincidence and it was not even IPOB that made it happen. IPOB is just taking advantage of any occurrence in SE to suit their useless idealogy. They are a bunch of nonentities.

The bastards will kill him. Recall this isn't the first case this year... The Nigerian legal system is very slow but super swift when the government wants to make unfavourable decisions.

Ganduje is hitching to sing his death warrant already and he will do that. The backlash will heighten and then die across the world, except there is a huge sanction on Nigerian by the UK, the US and possibly China, which I am praying for.

They think it is okay to kill because a prophet or a god is insulted. This should tell them about their religion but it won't. We have heard several cases of people arrested and killed for either tearing the Quran and even throwing it out the window during invigilation in the same North. The young man will be executed and life will move on.
He'd be convicted, his death warrant would be signed, BUT he won't be killed.

Not sure (I stand to be corrected) anyone has been put to death for reason of blasphemy since '99.

I totally agree, @the emboldened. I lived in the East for four years and saw the behaviour of these guys, first hand. They are mostly uneducated, highly sensitive, and gullible. They are feared in the East, more importantly in Abia, and Enugu because their politicians understand the cult power Kanu wields. Believe me, all it takes is for Peter Obi to speak against them and watch how they will go after him. It is true that they bolt faster than Usain himself when they are shot at but what happens when their target is left open and defenseless?

He isn't going to be killed. It won't happen in a democracy. You can bet on that.

The political backlash would be too much to bear, from outside and within the country.

I thought so too

But you know how that part of this country uphold their religion

Even if he's not executed, he is as good as dead if he comes out

Nigeria stop carrying out death sentence since 2000s. Those condemned to death remain in the prison while appealing their case for a better sentence. I guess same thing will happen to this man.
Ganduje has no moral right to even sign that thing

I revel much in theories and would like to believe the number work for official killings. Unofficially, I strongly believe the number is around 20-30 deaths annually, with only a few being reported.

Below is the case of the invigilator that was killed for seizing a Quran and throwing it outside a window: https://www.csw.org.uk/2007/06/05/press/637/article.htm

It is not hard. They might even release him and put him right there in his community for the Almajiris to run him down.

Is atiku your président ? Vice président ? Senate président ? Does he hold any leadership position? Same as OBI?

Why not question the LEADERS...your president, vice president, senate president and minister of justice who HAVE THE POWER TO FORCE A CHANGE.

HAS ANY OF THEM SPOKEN ABOUT the sentencing yet?

Nigerians need to stop being unfortunate and actually THINK, before calling people out.
calm down, nothing wrong in asking atiku his opinion, deji a staunch pdp started the tweet.

I believe we know already buhari been a bigot supports it that is whether he would even be seen to ask.

As an opposition leader like atiku who promises to do everything differently and claims to be exposed while churning on every national/social debate we need him to speak at this time

Their is no wrong in been dyed in the same ideaology with the current system but been an hypocrite is the wrong just like he craftly preached restructuring in the south and didn't in the north

The case you cited is that of murder by a MOB and not one sanctioned and executed by the STATE.

I don't think any execution on crime of blasphemy has been carried out by the state since the return of democracy.

It is possible having a mob kill someone for blasphemy, that we know happens there.

But no one would be executed by the state for such a "crime".

I say crime in quotation marks because, personally, I don't consider that a CRIME (no offence to the Muslims here).

Frkm the day that stuff took off in Zamfara, I knew it would cause more harm than good, given that our Supreme constitution is secular in nature.

The country was still fairly naiive, organized and unified when Yerima pushed for and succeeded in implementing it in his state. I'm very sure given how suspicious of one another and fractured we've become, especially along religious lines, if a law of this nature were to be introduced today, the chances of success even in predominantly Muslim state would be extremely slim.

Notwithstanding, PERHAPS, the Sharia system in itself isn't a retrogressive one by nature as we can cite countries such as Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar, making such giant strides in all spares of human endeavour, yet having Sharia Law as their criminal justice system. But you know the thing with Nigeria, always unique in our own nature, but sadly, almost always in a negative way.

Peter Obi is still reeling from the shock of how Imo state was snatched from him and his cronies by Prophet Ejike Mbaka. He was yet to recover from the rigours and defeat of the presidential election before the bombshell of Imo state that he was using to console himself, hit him viciously. Leave him abeg grin
leave Atiku and Peter obi from their religion madness in kano, let Buhari and Tinubu go and defend the guy.

Atiku is torn between the devil and the deep blue sea. The devil here is the North... Speaking against the injustice will demarket him greatly and might turn the people against him for insulting their prophet while on the other hand is the deep blue sea, the Southern part of Nigeria who expects him to stick to his idea of politics of inclusion, and nationalism as he paints himself to be. Not speaking up would mean he is a religious fanatic and supports the move - to have the young man condemned to death.

In reality, Atiku is all out for himself as with others who seek the exalted position. Buhari is bigoted and so is El Rufai and Ganduje and these three don't hide it. I would even understand if Atiku's social media handles do not post any contents this period but sending out a tribute to Chadwick Boseman and congratulating Arsenal, all within the period of the news filtering is insensitive, cruel and paints Atiku as one who is out for what he stands to get. One can't be everywhere at the same time and one can't be hot or cold. Sitting on the fence in the face of a sensitive issue shows what is in storeif he gets there; the same goes for the others as well.

We really need to look inward and come to terms with the fact that no politician is worth bleeding for. To them, it's all about what they stand to gain.

I laugh in Swahili, Atiku dare not, a typical northern Muslims is religion fundamentalist, forget Atiku's eye sevice, he will be an Hausa/Fulani man first before been a Nigerian.

Tinubu is a Muslim and he claims to be an activist, let him speak out. Peter Obi is a Christian who is not versed in Islamic jurisprudence, asking Obi to speak is mischievous.
Buhari is responsible for ensuring the sanctity of Nigeria constitution, he should be speaking about conflicting laws in Shagamu and Kano

I didn't see anybody mentioning Peter obi.

However, for those who're flaying Obi for not speaking against IPOB clash with DSS, yes, if I were Okwute, I will not even utter one word. The albino of afara believes it's convenient for him to destroy people's reputation, because he has a microphone and some dunderheads who are ready to listen to him. But when he faces difficulties he will remember that he is Igbo and will run to seek help from the same people he has often castigated. No not so fast!

Ndiara IPOB will open their gutter filled mouth, to insult even their fathers on FB and RB, most times they don't even mind that those people they insult are their Igbo brothers, but when they are killed, alas, they remember they are Igbos and therefore demand empathy and solidarity. NO! It doesn't work that way. Ndiara IPOB must be thought some lessons.

APC will also go mute on such when they return to opposition.
