From experience u need d letter of Administration, not only for the bank purpose but for u to have access to ur late father's entitlement. The letter of Administration comes from the High Court not the bank. the account of the deceased will be closed. then the money will be moved to a new account depending on the amount and still depending on the court. the letter of Administration is very important.

It depends on where you register it. The whole thing is being processed in Abuja after the registration.
It takes not less than six months to be processed. Also sometimes there may be delay that can prolong it to even two years.
The good news is that once registered, you will be issued a receipt that will cover you until it will be issued.
You will also pay for induction.
Requirements include your credentials and a passport photograph. Thereafter, you'll be given a form to fill your academic profile in chronological order. Lastly, a referee will be needed also in the form you'll fill.
