In response to some of the accusations on his verified X.com account, Adejobi urged motorists to support the police’s efforts by refusing to give money to any officer on the highways. Who will pay for accidental discharge. Is it not madness, Nlfpmod to heed this FPRO. grin grin grin grin grin cry cry cry

Politics / Re: $4m Debt: Why Tinubu Should Be Careful About Chinese Loans — Bolaji Akinyemi by Standing5(m): 1:29am On Sep 09
Mad Politician indeed. ^^^

The article talks about low level staffs pocketting govt revenue or tolls on projects that have loan repayment schedule waiting to be fulfilled. Thats a typical Nigerian showing true colors. I also blame whoever approaches China on behalf of a whole nation to execute projects in constituencies that cannot repay loans because they believe they won a war of resources and should never have to pay for public utilities frim their pockets.
As for the state governors signing sub national agreements and therefore tying Nigeria as a whole into messed up agreements, thats perfectly down to a structure that empowers states to spend freely but never asks what they do or motivates them to be productive or earn. I watched as El Rufai plundered Kaduna resources for his religion and then became the chief advocate for subsidy removal just to to keep states getting huge allocations and running. Why must economic units that spend unquestioned be created? No appraisals or submission to a higher authority. The structure we run was put in place to allow resources cornered by Hausa Fulani dominated FG in addition to Igbo and Yoruba to spend unquestioned, SS resources and this has led to culture of recklessness where the winners or emperors(governors) take it all. Two of the last four heads of Nigeria are were state governor at some point in their career and their tenure has turned out worse than those with no state governing experiences. Look at the national embarassment Ogun state just caused us. What do they have thousands of aides for? They are just a burdensome extention of the FG that brings nothing back to the FG save the cornered resources of the conquered regions. Before now the narrative was that the money other resources can bring in is too small compared to oil. But seeing that oil revenue has been oversubscribed by mouths waiting to be fed and most heavily, by debts to be repaid, the gap has been drastically closed, so why isnt anyone asking about gold and other resources?

Many African countries received tons of grains for free from Russia.

The shipment arrived about 3 months ago.

You should ask Nigerian leaders why they felt too big to partake in it.

"That man" is not the cause of the hike in the price of bread in Nigeria. Blame your president or don't you have one?
I blame whoever started a war to take more territory. Thank God you didnt deny the obvious.
Tell him we need more grains. Or he should allow grain price go back to pre-invasion state.

Politics is what dictates what gets done.

You prune the civil service, they prune your presidency to one term.

The political cost is simply to high. Choose your battles wisely.
so the presidency n governors and corrupt civil service team up to prune the amenities n pockets of the masses.

Politics / Re: Why The Whites Keep These Strange Facts About Africa Secret? (photos) by Standing5(m): 4:27pm On Sep 08
Rossikk:

The idea of “tribe” was introduced by the colonia invaders.

Pre-colonial Africans did not identify themselves as “Igbos”, “Hausas” or “Yorubas”, especially not in a way to differentiate between THEIR group and others.

People identified by their lineage or ancestral town or village.

Back then a clan of Igbo speakers had no issue ganging up with a neighbouring village or clan of Yoruba speakers to attack an Igbo speaking village.

It was the colonialists who, to create blocs of division and rivalry, roped all speakers of a language into one “tribe”, and those of another, into another “tribe”.

It’s all FALSE and ENGINEERED.

If you actually did an ancestral DNA test, you would likely discover that your ancestors were migrants from a totally different part of the country.

be lying small small.

Africans like to believe they are better than they are. Very disorganised people. One of the strongest forces of disorganization is ethnicity and tribes. Just look at how seriously africans take tribal loyalty and you see why we cannot unite on any meaningful thing. Loot at how we demand list of drinks and biscuits that were never in existence before our so called forefathers at traditional events. It means our tradition and culture has become slave to colonial influence.

I suspect he is petrified of regime change.

He can't set aside the politician in him. If he can't deregulate the price now, I don't see how it's possible in his 'second term.'

When the economy started crumbling under PMB, Northerners were bitter. A semi-literate Fulani man and an uneducated Hausa man both expressed bitterness towards him. This was in 2016. They said they wont vote for him come 2019, and we're speaking for their people generally.

However, by the time elections came in 2019, they voted massively for him.

How come? In 2017, the CBN introduced a second foreign exchange window where the rates were market reflective. This pulled the country out of a recession, and economic growth resumed. By 2019, the pain had long been forgotten. The 'high proces' of goods in 2017, was now the new normal

Why am I saying this? Tinubu has only 2 year window to enact the first phase of painful reforms which will primarily be deregulation of the petrol price and some more in the electricity sector.. People are already adjusting to the new prices.

By 2027, people would have adjusted to the new price levels, and if combined with rapid economic growth, would guarantee him a re-election. Yorubas have this phrase, "O ti mo wan la ra.

As long as the petrol subsidy remains, the Nairas value can't be maintained. It will be prone to depreciation, which will only widen the amount spent on the subsidies.

The second phase of painful reforms would be the pruning of the civil service.
The pruning of civil service should be the first phase for any serious govt. Why pay idlers in the first place. That's a man or woman with functional hands, legs and brains yet being paid for doing nothing but agreeing to play spiritual politics with their souls. The bloated civil workforce needs to be pruned alongside the criminal element in the workforce and society at large. Productive hands need protection and motivation to grow. Even the middle class prefer to run away than try and grow locally. That tells you growth has become to expensive in Nigeria.

All the ones they've been signing, what have they achieved with them undecided
more pointedly, the ones Buhari signed and built, how much is it generating or repaying. The goal Is to loot the inflow and repay with oil money. That's why knowledgeable citizens are reluctant to pay taxes.
