Being a writer is a source of joy and creativity just like being a published author is a source of fulfilment and pride. But in all, being an author whose books are selling is the climax.

Thanks to digital publishing and then Amazon the Largest digital publishing platform, an author can now easily monetize his/her craft. The following are five tips that will enable a Nigerian author get the best publishing on Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP).

1. Write books that has the Potential of Selling: This is the most important factor. Ask yourself the question "Will I be willing to put my money on this book if it were written by another author?" Your answer to this question will help you to have a realistic value/potential of the book. If the book has information or entertainment value that will make you buy it, then others can too.

2. Properly edit and Proofread it: This will further enhance it value and chances of success.

3. Set a right and reasonable Price for it: quantify the book to know what price to set it at. Don't be greedy by thinking that you are targeting westerners and hence you have to price high. Those people are as careful in spending as you do. To properly quantify it, compare it with similar books by other successful authors in your genre.

4. Properly format the content of the book to Amazon KDP's standard and design a professional cover for it: These two components are the packaging aspects of the book product. And you know the importance of packaging in sales conversion.

5. Promotion/Marketing: This is also very important. But as a newly published author, you can successfully use Facebook book groups to great advantage in marketing your books for free. Also, once you have made enough sales, you can reinvest some of it into the business by making use of Amazon Marketing Services (AMS) to promote your books.

Greetings my people,

We broke before and reconcile after two years, and we been back for like 6 months now.

Please no insult or curse. Please I need your advice.

When you guys first broke up, who initiated it?

Like it or not, just like the first time you guys broke up, she is presently seeing someone else and will only get serious with you when that door closes.

It was likely what happened the first time. She came back to you after two years because the guy she broke up with you for gave her breakfast too.

Let's assume they got married at 23yrs.. they should be in their sixties now.. what could have caused this?

Even though he wasn't explicit in putting out information about the marriage, he did just that if you read in-between what is written.

It is quiet clear that wether he is the biological father of the said four children or not, the children and their mom have ganged up against the man after he was done training them through school and job opportunities.

Though wrong!

The logic is that if the child is not treated that way, he/she will not put pressure on the parents to get them to pay up the school fee.

You ...and Slytiger sound naive rooting for the Brits and their US allied forces in the military ops against terrorism.

The Brits and Chinese are masters at proxy warfare and espionage. Don't be surprised they are the ones financing & planting those units of 'jihadists' all over trouble spots strategically

Please read my comment again and understand it's ironic intent.

Slytiger:
Once the US completely pulls out of Niger republic, West Africa is in trouble.

The pull out of France from Mali and those areas as brought about an increase in terrorist activities in West Africa. No wonder the jihadists were jubilating when Mali asked France to leave. The jihadist have now taken over half of Mali.

Boko Haram dey learn work and are still apprentices. These Iswap and Alqueda ones are journeymen terrorists.

Just like Asia is in trouble because American military is not there and the middle east and west Africa is peaceful because of the presence of American military.

The underlying cause of adultery is greed.

You think your partner is worth 70% or 80% and want to get the balance else where.

Or you think they are not useful yet hold on to the marriage.

You said it all.

Just like greed is the major reason we are where we are as a nation right now!

corruption in Venezuela has made the country very poor despite the huge oil money.

Venezuela's problem is not corruption rather like Cuba, it is the punitive unilateral sanctions place on all their sectors that is the problem. That is why even though they have the World's largest reserve, it remains largely untapped. Just search their daily production capacity to confirm this my point.

Be informed before you speak please. Read up on Venezuela. President Hugo Chavez laid down a very solid governance system with one of the World's best democratic electoral voting system and many other things.

Family / Re: How Do I Chase Away My Inlaws From My House by Stevenbright(m): 6:58pm On Jun 15
papyjaypaul:

This one is not matter of fight, life is not fair to men but we need to know how to mange the female species. When I was younger, papa used to tell me about women, then I was clinging on to women because women will always be partial. As a man, I can now see what he said. You have to handle women in their game.

This people will not stay there forever but let me tell you one thing, the moment you say one thing, that is what they will never forget and remember you for. They will not remember all the free feeding he was doing.

Are you saying that my family is hungry

Are we bothering you

Okay i will use my money.

The thing can turn anyhow. Imagine the family now buying their things or the guy sending them out claiming tough guy. I have had guys who did that, they sent family away, it never ends well. In laws are like boardroom politics, let him manage them well. They know themselves better than he thinks he knows them. A man must draw boundaries but in drawing boundaries, he should remember he still needs them in the future. This is just the first pregnancy.

I get all you explained. But in life you don't have to always enslave yourself to others just because you are afraid of what they will say.

If his in-laws are equally afraid of what he will say or think about them, thay would have been at least considerate and use their conscience.

In situations like this, you consider a middle point where the action you take will not be too disastrous but still effective in solving the situation.

papyjaypaul:
OP apply sense to this case as I have advised you. People saying that a woman will not tolerate your own family for long time, of course, it is what it is. Women grew up with their families before they married you. They will never be comfortable living with in laws compared to their own family they have lived with since birth. It's common sense, manage in laws carefully. You need them and they will solve things you alone cannot. They should not take advantage of you but also take a look at what they are doing and it will help you. If you go abroad, to have family scarce so manage what you have. Is there something the siblings are doing that mama cannot? There may be some family things you do not understand that they are doing to help her that you cannot see but it is only the food part you are looking at.

Manage them carefully.

You just forgot that the man himself grew up with his own family and more comfortable with them! Does that means he should invite his mom and two of his siblings to come and join them right now?

You guys should learn to balance your views when commenting on issues like this.

Op should just greatly reduce the amount of provisions he makes available at home with the complain that he is low of funds and have even taken loans at his work place and hence the next salary will be half of what he normally earns and this applies to next five months salaries. And watch the said in-laws find their way.

They later sold the property at the rate of 1m. The buyer is so lucky honestly. Few days after buying the house, he has already loaded blocks everywhere and trip of sand. He wants to erect a self-con in the space just in front of the house. The foundation has even been dug. All these even while the former owners are still there. Even the plantain trees in front of the house, he just cleared everything. All these happening just some days after buying the property. For the man mind, make the people no come change their mind say them no go sell again, hahahaha! I no blame am sha. It was a good buy.

Wow! unbelievable

It's really a lucky buy.

The signature is of the person impersonating him.

In that case, it is not an issue of impersonation. I guess there is a legal lacuna that can probably make this legal and you can confirm this by consulting with lawyers.

So my good friend and coursemate who is about to divorce after few years of marriage sent me this, I'd love to know your opinion and if it's legal to proceed.

"
I'm trying to divorce my husband behind his back in a customary court using the traditional marriage.
I'm told I can get someone to impersonate him and collect the court order from the bailiff and sign it.
Then not appear in court during the court hearing it will be said he didn't show up because he is no longer interested in the marriage and has given his consent when he signed the court order.
Making me the only person to appear in Court.
Till judgment is passed.
Then the verdict will be sent to him.
"

So, I need advise and clarity on this.
my question is, How legal is this? Hope it doesn't cause a problem in the long run?

Will the signature be a forged one or the signature will be that of the person impersonating him?

Anyway, that is impersonation and if he can get a lawyer to prove he is innocent of the alledged signing of the document, you will be guilty of impersonation!

My sincere advice to you is as follows:

Go into DJ or MC or Comedy depending on your preference. As you become good at it, you will make a lot of connections and contacts while earning a living and making some savings from what you are doing.

Overtime, you would have saved enough, meet relevant people that will give you the needed pathway to a good recoding studio to work with.

Note: Many successful musicians didn't just start out by getting the big recoding contracts. Many followed the path I just pointed out to you while some first work with other musicians as backup singers e.g Majek Fashek was once an unknown backup singer.
