Making the transition to a full-time writer does not happen overnight, it takes time, consistency and hard work!

So, don't be in a rush to quit your full-time work for writing but make writing and publishing a side gig until it can pay the bills and more. You can then quit your work to focus on writing.

Family / Re: Why Do Rich Men Deceive We Poor Men Like This??? (PICTURES) by Stevenbright(m): 5:03pm On Dec 10, 2023
Obavoh:
After eating, the wife asked us to sit outside and served us some fruits.

As we were eating, my uncle came out and greeted us. This was around 9:30am. He went inside again and we waited for about 3hrs before he stepped outside.

He told me to go inside and collect a package from his wife, which I did.

When I came out, my friend told me my uncle drove his car out of the compound.

I was heartbroken.

The wife gave me frozen fish. My wife fried some and roasted the rest because we don’t own freezer

My observations:

1. In the past two years you have been chasing your uncle for #600K and he kept deceiving you. He doesn't wants to give it to you and expects you to understand and give up the chase.

2. The time you put into doing the chase, put same into creative thinking and action. You may make more than that money in less than a year.

3. You said your wife fried some of the fish and roasted the rest! I didn't noticed where you mentioned giving some to your friend or was he given his own package too. Just want to share that the art of giving pays most.

Romance / Re: My Lack Of Commitment To Women Is Killing Me Slowly by Stevenbright(m): 12:07pm On Dec 06, 2023
MikeofKd:
Good day Nlanders, pls I need the wisest counsels of wise Nlanders. I have a problem which is lack of commitment to women, ive been this way since I left uni, and pls know that this isnt due to masturbation or any sorts, cause I havent done that thing since my teenage years.

I meet a woman today , we vibe, connect and all but i'm just damn too scared to commit any woman no matter how good she is. I'm scared that if I continue this way I may likely find it really difficult to get married.

Seeing and experiencing different complains of men in real life and on the forum as made my commitment issues with women only worse. I'm currently working, fair pay, got my own place, I'm doing quite well for myself. Ive met different women this year that were good women, but I fear if I give my heart to them they may switch up, women are too complicated naturally to cope with.

This fear of commitment is seriously holding me back from getting a serious relationship. My only fear is if I continue this way I may not get married. I need the counsels of wise nairalanders to advice me on what to do concerning this commitment issues cause it quite depressing no lies.

I form hard guy, but deep down I really be craving for a romantic relationship, I'm just too scared to give any woman my heart cause ive been hurt in past relationships . So hurt that even when I had a good woman I couldnt see it and I lost her.

Your Wise advice and counsels would be deeply appreciated thanks.

You are just unnecessarily being hard on yourself. You have not met a woman you want. If and when you do, you will be committed to her without forcing it.

Family / Re: Does Fame Really Brings Wealth? How? by Stevenbright(m): 4:04pm On Dec 05, 2023
Darlingme:
So, I was thinking out loud on my desk this morning and this keep ringing in my head

I've known quite number of people, who are extensively wealthy and enjoying life, but they're not famous, they don't even post or update on their social media platform.

I've also seen lots of popular people/celebrities, who can not afford medical treatment. Live good life due to financial hindrance.
Some celebrities, rent/borrow clothes, chains, wrist watches even shoes to functions, music videos, photoshoot and make the society believe it's theirs.

This days, almost everyone wants to trend.
Some ladies, do all manner of cra.zy things in the name of content creation, to gain Fame online
So many parents wants their little children to get famous so, they can have breakthrough from poverty.
My question is this,
Dose fame really bring wealth? If yes, How?
Why does most famous people in reality, poor?
Would you prefer to be rich and have a quiet life or famous, known everywhere, but financially not stable?
What are the benefits of being popular?
Share your opinion. Let's learn.

Fame brings money but it takes financial management skills and prudence to create wealth out of it.

By my definition, wealth is using your money opportunities to create a lifelong financial streams of income.

The actors you mentioned, were once rich but lack the ability or willingness to create wealth out of their money for a long-term financial security.

For instance, if what Portable says about his financial investment is true, then he is wealthy and will even get wealthier with time because he is investing his money rightly but there are some musicians who are have more liquid cash than him right now but can't be as wealthy as him in the long term because they spend the most of their money on frivolities.

As at the moment, the digital world have created one way by which fame can make an individual directly rich. That is having a high social media or YouTube followers which can bring money to the person through advertisement revenues. But the individual still have to manage the money to create wealth out of it.

Family / Re: Ex-Wife Threatened To Take Me To Court For Children Custody by Stevenbright(m): 8:30pm On Dec 04, 2023
Prospertochu:
My x wife and I share 3 children together ( 4 years old triplets 2 boys 1 girl). I live in another state due to the nature of my job. The girl lives with her in Lagos and the boys are with my mother and sister in the village. I rented another apartment for them far away because I don't want my x or her family to come and kidnapped my boys the same way she kidnapped the girl . My x wife and daughter are going to the village for xmas she want me to give her my mum adress so she can see the boys she said she bought plenty gifts for them . I refused because the last time she visited she took all 3 children to her parents house only for her to kidnapped the girl leaving behind the boys. I don't want her to kidnapped my boys and she has threatened to take me to court for custody she said the judge will grant her custody because the children are tender . I told her to go ahead and report me anywhere she wants. I am scared to loose my boys. I love them so much they are my everything I won't bear to lose them. My boys are only 4 years old is it true that the judge will grant her custody because they are tender ?

Children are not articles. The court will only ask you to handover the children to her if you make yourself and the children available for the litigation. Do what you think is best for you and your children.

We are working on this sir, i appreciate your suggestion

You are welcome. It is good to know that my little suggestions were of help to you.

Please whoever you guys are hiring, ensure due diligence is involved. Make sure the person's background is known.

She should be someone who is contented, appreciates the salary she is being paid, not take advantage of your mom and can not plan evil against her inorder to covet her properties.

The person should be known to the neighborhood and easily trackable.

Brokendad:

The girl just texted my sister this morning that the abortion has been successful. People are just impossible.

Imagine her telling me that she needs my support now than ever. Jeez.

They even prayed in the church before commencing the abortion. Wow.

Well, it has all ended. Although I don't want to end things with her so abruptly so she doesn't plot evil against me.

You know, some people's thinking can be ridiculous. This girl might at the end of the day, play the victim card, claim that I got her pregnant that led to her doing the abortion and abandoned her.

I need to play safe as much as possible. She was asking me from the hospital bed what is the way forward? Hahaha.

I don't know how I got myself involved with this type of girl and family.

There is nothing to play safe about here. Just tell her the way forward is what she decided. That is rejecting you. Tell her the abortion signified she and her family rejected you and you have accepted your fate and moving on.

Don't even attempt to pretend to have anything with her again if you love your life.

At the moment she is leaving alone, which is not good for her type of person. Get her a matured house help. Someone who is kind, has her own family but need the work.

She should be well paid, she should become a friend and jist mate with your mom not just a house help.

With this, you will be able to take a break and breathe while focusing on yourself and family.

I didn't take their family name, i took my mother's name. deny me as in how?? deed has already been done sha

Ok, she didn't get this point. She thought you taking your mum's maiden name (her father's name)

In this, since you took your mum's name, there is no issue other than you are starting a new paternal lineage, starting with you.

I wanted to say thanks and move on before but nah, what's all this meeting here and there? for what?

Wait o! is this because it's a woman's name I'm changing to?

What she is saying is it has to be done with the consent of your mum's family since you are about taking their family name as your surname. Otherwise, if you just do it on your own without due process, they can deny you and your nuclear family in the nearest future when it is most important.

This comment made me laugh. Advice him to sell one of his skills and use the money to buy sense.

Don't mind that guy. You know truth is bitter, right.

Otherwise, why is he the one doing the marketing?

A girl did something similar here sometime ago. She stated the fact that the lady in question is her elder sister who is no longer motivated about relationships, reason why she is doing it on her behalf.

This one is here marketing without clarifying grey areas. I raised one of such points and he is mouthing....

I wonder how good hardworking women end up marrying deadbeats. πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€”

It's a matter of choice. The men were not forced on any of them. In most cases, they were after looks, vibes and frivolities which the man displayed and she is angry now.

The same is true for men who get married to bad women because they are after looks, vibes, etc

What makes you think that is not a potential client? For even having his contact and watching his updates/status on Whatsapp, that makes the person a potential client.
I guess you would have responded thesame rude way this guy responded!

He is entitled to his actions. That doesn't mean I will respond the same way in such situations. I just shared my view after analyzing the conversation.

A serious potential client will not just say I will get back to you after seeing quotes. Rather, he will analyze it and ask for some concessions, get the concessions and then say I will get back to you once I am ready to kickoff the project.

Wait, I non understand. For a job that has the potential of giving you a revenue of around 3 million, that was how you replied a potential client. Abi non be 3.1 something million I see for that chat?

Some people pursue one job for years, while pursuing that job it does not stop them from doing other businesses, yet this one is just one month and see how your replied a potential customer.

Na wa

That is not a potential client. It is someone who engaged him just to get to learn from him how he handles his quotes. He is probably still struggling to get contracts and wanted to use the guys videos as proof of work done to his own potential clients.
Career / Re: Coping After A Major Setback by Stevenbright(m): 12:11pm On Nov 30, 2023
The PO and another person who stated that he is in a similar situation failed to prepare for circumstances like this. How do you prepare?

You must have at least savings that can fund your current lifestyle at least 3 months if you lost your job. With such provisions in place, you will not panic and fear will not conquer you.

You will be surprised that on a normal day, you will be able to scale through these interviews you now fail. This is because fear is now tormenting you, you are now desperate and it shows on you. It make you to perform below your normal capacity because you are being too careful and thereby damping your creativity and self-confidence.

Way to go: Tell yourself that this is just a phase which shall surely pass too like every other phases you have passed through before now. Also, you need to go out and get something doing no matter how small. Forget about your standard thing for now because all you need at the moment is getting creatively engaged and building your self-confidence in the process.

When you are back on your feet, remember to cultivate the habit of saving for the rainy day!

My daughters ( 3 of them ) have been through a lot this year. They are not used to daddy not being around ( Me and their mother are currently separated but I am hoping she would change and we would be back together ), so far the seem to be coping fine but I want to make this Christmas an awesome one for them and need gift ideas.

Please give me gift ideas.

I have a budget of 200k for each of them. This includes 100k each for their clothes and shoes for Christmas and New year.

And another 100k to buy them gifts they will like. They all have ulesson tablets so tablets are not options.

They are 7, 4 and 3.

Do those kids have a savings bank account each that you are saving into for their future use? If yes, how often are you funding the accounts and if no, that is what you should do.

How do I erase it? I've tried everything possible

The major problem you are having is that you see yourself as the problem as if your ex. wife was a saint. Before you can get her out of your mind, you must come to terms with the fact that she has her own shortcomings too. If not, the marriage would have survived because she would have complemented your efforts to make things work for the family.

Realizing the above will help you forgive yourself, help you to heal and free you from the bondage of adoring her.
