Family / Re: Mature Advice Needed by Stevenbright(m): 5:20pm On May 23
Sharon999:
Good afternoon, house. Mature advice is needed, preferably from married persons.

I'm in a relationship with a man who really loves me and is ready to settle down with me. I'll be rounding up my studies soon and he is willing to wait for me.
I am not much of a religious person but I'm a believer. He, on the other hand, was a Christian but stopped practicing. For now, he does not involve himself in any religion and he does not have issues with me practicing my religion.
For the purpose of brevity, I will quickly highlight my dilemma;

a) we are not from the same tribe ( he is Yoruba, I am Idoma) and I doubt if my parents would consent.
b. The religion aspect highlighted above.
c. His father is a Muslim even though his mum is a Christian.I think my parents will have issue with this.

Above all, he really loves, respects, understands and adores me. His love seems genuine and sincere. I love him too but I'm afraid the whole exercise may turn out to be futile for the both of us because of the points listed above. Should I call it off now?

Please call it off to avoid needless issues later.

I still don't understand why many Nigerians and other people around the world allow religious differences cause them undesirable problems.

For the record, I believe the world will be a better place if these religious differences were never weaponized. What matters most in relating with other people is the character and moral compass of the individual which can be developed by individuals irrespective of the religion they subscribe to.

The earlier we realize that there is only one God the creator of the who universe and people and he doesn't care about our religions, the better for the human race. And the endless wars in many parts of the world now as a result of religious differences will die a natural death.

Think about these:
1. Humanity has been in existence longer than any religion as we know it today. Go verify it. Research on when man has been in existence, how long the major religious of today have been in existence.

2. The two religions whose rivalry is the cause of this disharmony in humanity are in the minority joined together when compared to other religions in the world but yet both of them are causing more harm the good to humanity. What do I mean? The population of those who practices Hinduism, Chinese folk religion, Buddhism, Taoism, folk sects, and those that identify with no religion are in the majority than those who practice the above rival religions. See below:

(79.8% of the population of India practices Hinduism, 14.2% adheres to Islam, 2.3% adheres to Christianity, 1.7% adheres to Sikhism, 0.7% adheres to Buddhism and 0.4% adheres to Jainism) for INDIA

(No religion / Chinese folk religion (73.56%) · Buddhism (15.87%) · Taoism, folk sects, and other religious organisations, (7.6%) · Christianity (2.53%) · Islam ( ... ) for CHINA.

(Buddhism (31.1%), Christianity (18.9%)
Islam (15.6%), Taoism and other Chinese religions (8.8%), Hinduism (5.0%), Other religions (0.6%), No religion (20.0%) ) for Singapore.

(50% identify with no religion, 17% with Buddhism, 16% with Protestantism, 6% with Catholicism, and 1% with other religions) for South Korea.

Note that there are more countries in Asia with the kind of statistics illustrated by the few I used above.

3. From the above, you should realize that God and humanity is the ultimate thing that can ensure peaceful and sustainable relationships and development in our society.

Politics / Re: Atiku Will Keep On Contesting For President "As Long As He Is Alive & Healthy" by Stevenbright(m): 10:45am On May 23
emkz:
Good idea.

It is his constitutional right.

Atiku has taken the record for the greatest number of presidential runs.

In 2023, he had the best shot in his life for the position. He had to be defeated to realize that division can be calamitous.

Unlike the other one, Atiku knew he lost. Because he knew this, he went to Chicago State University to prove an unfounded allegation that Tinubu never graduated from there. When he realized Tinubu graduated, he tried to prove Tinubu forged a certificate. When he realized that the Registrar of the University said they don't handle replacement certificate, Atiku took his deposition and brought it to the Supreme Court.

No US court stamped it, no US agency notarized it, no US Embassy authenticated it.
Atiku knew his deposition was inadmissible.

If he believed he won, why didn't he present his polling unit agents results from the field? If he believed the election wasn't free and fair, why didn't he publish cases of irregularities?

Atiku and the other one tried to plunge Nigeria into a constitutional crisis because they lost. They are not leadership materials. However, they stand a chance if Tinubu fails.

As for Atiku, if you ever want to run again, you must avoid the following persons:

1. Dino Melaye: this is the guy you allowed to lead your campaign. He is not mature for such responsibilities.

2. Phrank Shaibu: This one spent time attacking Tinubu instead of convincing voters about your programmes. He also defended the failure of your media team to do the proper work. He misadvised you to grant two press conferences that did not cover you in glory.

3. Daniel Bwala: This one has visited the person who defeated you more than three times in 5 months. He seems to already avoid you. Either he was a mole in your campaign or never believed in you.

4. Don Pedro Obaseki: He was your head of research and ought to have been aware and properly advised you that the Chicago route was a calamity for you. The premise that Tinubu never graduated was wrong. When you realized he graduated, you shifted to certificate forgery, which ended up being punctured. He failed to guide you properly.

5. Paul Ibe: This one only became visible after you lost.

6. David Hundeyin: This one was discredited by Oxford over matters of sexism and fraud by Oxford University. He released stories on Tinubu that were based on speculations and sold them to you. He scammed you.

7. Dele Momodu: Wike referred to him as a professional buttlicker.

8. Timi Frank: In 2022, this one lied that Tinubu did not graduate from Chicago. He claimed EFCC and FBI had a letter stating so. No one saw the letter and no one knew if he was high when he said this.

9. Nduka Obaigbena: This one could not come out openly to use his media houses to endorse you.

Others are: Peter Obi (he cost you the election) and Ifeanyi Okowa (he was not as enthusiastic as you in his desperation).

I cannot add Reno Omokri, because you never gave him a role in your campaign. I suspect he tweeted the condemnation of the lynching of Deborah Samuel Yakubu on your behalf on Twitter. You deleted the tweet and pushed him away.

Reno believed in you more than the others who scammed you of your money.

On a good day, you made a great point with this analytical opinion of yours. But you know what, Atiku should never become president of Nigeria for the common good of all. This is because he has invested so much in this pursuit over the years and he will be on a mission of recouping his investments plus profits to the detriment of Nigeria if he ever gets the chance.

My point is not for him to practice the opposite of those things. But they should not be the answer to this question.

You know why?

Every living thing has the ability to build a defense mechanism which is a natural reaction and a way to survive threatening situations. So, as a Nigerian, no matter how good you are, you must balance your your ways otherwise you will be choked because it has always been a matter of survival of the fittest, even in the animal kingdom.

Disclaimer: I am not in support of vices in the society or shortcuts neither am I such kind of person but you must be vigilant to ensure you don't lose guard if you must survive in Nigeria.

In a well organized family, anywhere anybody is going the head of the house must be aware.if I can't have where my wife is going becaue she is now called an adult,I must know wher you are taking my child to

Obviously, the main issue is the fact that she doesn't open up to you about her whereabout and since you can't get that you now have to resort to holding onto knowing the whereabout of your child.

It is wrong for her to be trying to avoid accountability on her whereabout to you, just like she also needs to know about your movement too. You guys need to resolve this issue because it can lead to total incommunicado in due course and that will mean the end of the marriage.

Kyng1:

Firstly, thank you so very much for understanding the depth of this whole issue, your understanding levels is super amazing.

I did every single thing, but my wife mother talked down on me in front of my friends and siblings just so they could think that she contributed something tangible to the weeding, where as I did every single thing.

She tricked me into providing the drinks they're supposed to have provided.

Of everything that she did, I'm deeply hurt the most by her claiming that I didn't gave her money to cook on the traditional day that I'm supposed to give her money to cook, but didn't. Where as we both have none of such agreement, on that day she cooked two basket of rice with my ingredients, chicken, groundnut Oil. Etc. From what she was supposed to use to prepare the reception food.

To be brutally honest with you, I have tried getting over the money I spent for the marriage but I just can't, the more in trying to get it over with the more it keeps ringing a bell.

As for my wife, she is not giving me problems. At first she's but ever since I told her that after giving birth I'd send her back to her mother's house, she has been behaving well since then, and definitely want the marriage to work out. The only thing currently causing problems between is is the fact that she's always all over me, as we're both always at home. Where as I'm someone that love being alone all the time without anyone around or anyone talking to me. I'm a loner. This is the only thing that's currently causing problems.

I got all your points. Good to know too that she is not giving you much issues at the moment and I do hope she even do better with time if nature do wish you guys to make the marriage work.

Please permit me to share the following points with you. I do hope they give you better insight to life:

1. In all you do, even if it is a business venture, never put in all your capital into it. You need to keep aside about 20-30% of your total capital as a reserve fund. This fund can come handy when there are unforseen circumstances as a shock absorber to help mitigate the situation. In the absence of such a reserve fund, failure of such a venture is inevitable.

2. You need to be more vigilant in dealing with people henceforth. Once you notice any form of manipulation, you have gat to take measures to protect yourself and your resources.

3. I don't judge people but someone else's comment about your previous threads made me read up some of your previous threads. To that end, I want to say that you have to work on yourself and let go of somethings to fast track your progress in life.

Because i will sell it cheaper to people not knowing it as already increase in price at the market. What do i do? How do i discourage debtors from coming near my shop?
Business genius in the forum!

Simply don't sell on credit again.

Just tell them you need to pay up your suppliers and gathering the money now and hence can't afford to sell on credit.

Please I need your honest answers on this.

Guy enough of the manipulation. You don't need to apologize to anybody.

What you need right now is to fix your life and your home.

Truth be told, you were manipulated both by your wife and her mom. They knew they had little to contribute to the wedding but they manipulated you to do it all by trick while putting you down in front of people to make it look as if they did some while you have not done enough.

The drink they are supposed to provide, they made you do it. They informed you not to worry about cooking food on the trad day while her mum used part of what you already provided for reception food to cook on that the trad day while pretending she used her resources for it just to make it look like they contributed something.

So, look inward to see what you can do to start earning again. Move on and stop thinking about what you spent on the wedding.

Don't even plan to return the bride price and send her away except she is making life difficult for you. Overtime, you will be fine with her except she is not ready to cooperate and make the family grow and fulfilled. Otherwise, sending her away means you will have to repeat that same process again with another woman in the nearby future.

My point is first try to make the marriage work and make sure henceforth, she is not able to manipulate you again. If she refused to change for good, then you know the right thing to do for yourself.

Which kind of news is this. Okpella is in Edo state not in Kogi state.

It is also not close to Okene which is in Kogi state as you claimed.

After Okpella, there are still many villages e.g Igarra, Ibillo etc all in Edo state even before you get to Kogi state. And when in Kogi state, you will still pass through many villages before getting to Okene.

So, correct your headline and storyline.
