After the release of the Davido‘s highly anticipated video titled “Fans Mi” which features American rapper and Maybach Group artiste, Meek Mill. The Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has set up a panel to investigate the music video which displayed a substance suspected to be hard drugs.

The video showed Davido with a briefcase filled with dollars and another bag filled with parcels of a substance suspected to be hard drugs.

The Director of Public Affairs of the NDLEA, Mr. Mitchell Ofoyeju, told SUNDAY PUNCH on Saturday that the investigative panel might invite the hip-hop artiste for questioning if the need arose.

He said, “I am aware that a panel is working on it (the video). The panel was set up soon after the video was released few weeks ago.

“When our attention was drawn to it, we viewed it and we discovered that it was improper. There is no moral lesson in it and he was just advertising drug trafficking.

“In the video, he exchanged a brief case supposedly containing narcotics for dollars. He was displaying affluence in the video. If it (the plot) had climaxed in an arrest and possible detention, we would have congratulated him for partnering with us. But the way he portrayed drug trafficking in the video was a means to an end, which the end is a life of affluence which we disagree with.”

Ofoyeju said the anti-drug agency would conduct a full-scale investigation into the making of the video and to confirm whether it was censored before its release.

The NDLEA spokesperson also said, “We are looking at the issue holistically. We believe that there should be a body that was supposed to censor videos before they go out. Those are the things we want to investigate and verify. Was the video submitted for approval? If it was submitted, why was it approved, with such content?”

Us rappers, Drake and Skepta hopped on Wizkid’s HIT single ‘Ojuelegba’ which first streamed on Drake’s OVO Apple Music Radio Show earlier today. Singer/songwriter, Waje has cancelled the rest of her East African tour following the death of her grandmother. Waje was already in Kenya when she was forced to cancel the remainder of her tour.

She wrote on Instagram apologizing to fans.
“My Tanzanian and Ugandan family. It breaks my heart to announce to you all that we will have to cancel the rest of the tour,” the songster posted.

“My deepest apologies to u because this was all put in place because of you guys, but this isn’t over. We will do this. #WajeEATour As my grandma just passed away while my tour kicked off, I’m forced to cancel to be there for my mum.

“I am very sorry to cancel the Tanzanian and Ugandan shows. I hope you darlings bear with me and keep the love alive. I promise to schedule a better time to come be with you in Tanzania and Uganda. Stay blessed. Asante sana”, Waje wrote.

Nollywood actor, producer, film director Kunle Afolayan learnt the hard way when he vented his anger through social media and drops tweets over pirating of his latest Multi million Naira movie titled ‘October 1′

Kunle afolayan got attacked through comments from his Igbo colleagues including Uche Jombo, Zik Zulu, Charles Novia, to mention a few saying his tweet indulges a direct insult on their kinsmen. Therefore, he later deleted the tweet and apologized.

Yemi Shodimu, Kunle Afolayan, Tunde Kelani, Kehinde Bankole, and few others conducted a rally against piracy in nigeria today, Which was followed by a short meeting on how to curb piracy from the nigerian market. The rally assembling point was at Ikeja Under Bridge while the activists marched to the Lagos state Governor’s office in Alausa ikeja lagos.

South Africa's Nelson Mandela dies

The announcement of Mandela's death was made by President Jacob Zuma
South Africa's first black president and anti-apartheid icon Nelson Mandela has died, South Africa's president says.

Mr Mandela, 95, led South Africa's transition from white-minority rule in the 1990s, after 27 years in prison.

He had been receiving intense home-based medical care for a lung infection after three months in hospital.

In a statement on South African national TV, Mr Zuma said Mr Mandela had "departed" and was at peace.

"Our nation has lost its greatest son," Mr Zuma said.

The Nobel Peace Prize laureate was one of the world's most revered statesmen after preaching reconciliation despite being imprisoned for 27 years.

He had rarely been seen in public since officially retiring in 2004.

"What made Nelson Mandela great was precisely what made him human. We saw in him what we seek in ourselves," Mr Zuma said.

"Fellow South Africans, Nelson Mandela brought us together and it is together that we will bid him farewell."


Earlier, the BBC's Mike Wooldridge, outside Mr Mandela's home in the Johannesburg suburb of Houghton, said there appeared to have been an unusually large family gathering.

A number of government vehicles were there during the evening as well, our correspondent says.

Since he was released from hospital, the South African presidency repeatedly described Mr Mandela's condition as critical but stable.
