There's no state in Nigeria where people won't sell votes for what's essentially nothing, be it bread, spaghetti, rice, 5K or a combination of all of these. Na person wey neva see suffer wey dey outside go dey begrudge person wey dey sell vote for bread. Keep people hungry and uneducated and they'd sell for pure water sef, that's APC's guiding philosophy...a country of bread queues. |

BlueRayDick:Like, the money long die. Another thing I got to discover was some of these thugs are linked to local traditional leaders, they send these boys out to areas they control, and those boys at the end of each day deliver collections. Like if you see the extent to which this agbero thing is entrenched, you'd understand why e go hard certain politicians to win Lagos...and this is just entrenchment around agbero's o, you neva talk CEO's, waste management guys, contractors, etc. If you don watch the movie Gangs of New York, you don see Lagos agberoism culture finish...at best it's a notch higher than that. |

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 3:44pm |
BlueRayDick:The culture around thugging in a particular place also plays a role in what underlings can aspire towards. Dokubo by now don suppose leave some of the things e dey do, surprised he's still so deeply involved. Only a couple days ago, I saw video of him giving some of these Ijaw Youth Council boys water from one drum to drink...all of dem wear white, dem reach like 300+ persons, of different ages, na dat place Itsrm say dey safe |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 3:34pm |
LordAdam16:Another angle, for some of these thugs, completely insulating their kids from the game could mean leaving everything on the table when their time's come. There are many things that also determine the nature in which these people's kids get involved in thugging too. For Benin for example, the full extent of industries you can penetrate with thugging no pass motor parks, street traders, oni le and some small time thing...bar these things, what much else can he be involved in that'd give him that street money...not so much. MC Oluomo is a Lagos thug, so his perspective is going to be quite different, there's more than enough for him to completely leave the streets and focus on bigger picture things. His son is MIT educated, and from the way I've seen him on SM, he's not a softie at all, that MIT degree plus his dads control of the thuging machinery could create some really deadly fellow, and there's tons of industries available for him to apply himself within Lagos if he so desires. Tompolo is another thug that seems to be moving smart, and this is made easier with access to the Niger Delta oil thing. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 3:14pm |
Amigoss:Ah, it was open now, there was even one time they were competing, Kabaka was on the come-up and Bob Izua in his last legs, and Kabaka would come to ITV and start crying that Bob Izua is oppressing him that people should help him beg ...was all part of him playing underdog and portraying himself as victim sha, but it was funny to see then. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 3:10pm |
raumdeuter:True, however much they say Oluomo is a thug and whatnot, he's always made a conscious effort to posture like a respectable member of society, I've never seen any picture or video of Mc Oluomo with a gun...I remember they shot him a few years back, but that's as much as I know of him personally involved in violence... the man always makes effort to code. Compare that with a Kabaka or say an Asari Dokubo, and it's something else entirely....those guys would in their 70s still be forming hard man. I think these thugs that don't try to code their thugging would find it hard to completely insulate their kids from the game, plus there are kids that however much you try would sha want to be involved in family biz. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 2:46pm |
Amigoss:Would you believe that Kabaka's son is already in on the thuggin game? Same way Kabaka took over from his Uncle Bob Izua, won't be surprised if this Kabaka's son takes over at some point down the road...proper family business it has become. |

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 1:49pm |
raumdeuter:Eye wey dey cry dey see road...Akpakomiza is someone you'd shock with some basic 2* and he'd stutter...man was rejected but was rigged in. I understand you're in Izzou's Whatsapp group of anything INEC declares is true, so I get the justifications around your position. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 1:44pm |
BlueRayDick:PDP and Asue Ighodalo were always going to get votes, the best that'd have achieved was split votes and make the rigging more justified. Besides Otti ran at the height of the Obidient movement, compare votes polled by LP candidates in 2023 to votes polled by them in these off-cycle elections and you'd see a marked difference. Also, it doesn't help that Peter Obi is yet to get a firm grip on the Labor Party, that affects coalescing around candidates/ideologies, especially when these candidates are themselves not exactly strong...Olumide Akpata polled 3% of votes, I didn't even expect he'd do that badly. |

GloriousGbola:Lol, any WhatsApp group you want to put me, put me, as long as it's not the one that has cornvicts. The party you support and represent is responsible for Since their very first year delivering double digit inflation Reducing the quality of life of the average Nigerian Corrupting every single institution of state Fanning the embers of every form of bigotry Normalizing kidnapping and terrorism You guys like playing the I told you so game, where's the I told you so for improved quality of life, single digit inflation or safe roads for travel? |

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 10:18am |
Itsrm:I think vote buying in nationals is a bit harder, easier to gather capital around off-cycle elections than in a general election. |

liveLongNprospa:Wetin concern your average cornvict with governance, na say make dem teach LP lesson and Tinubu dey build e political skyscraper dey go be their own. You're probably right on some hypocrisy in supporting Asue Ighodalo, some persons are more idealistic than others but whether you do idealism or not, life would go on, and sometimes it's better to give yourself a fighting chance with "okay" than get burnt shooting for ideals. However it turned out, I'm glad the actual votes represented the people coalescing around what was the pragmatic fighting chance. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 9:57am |
folake4u:Artisans, retirees then civil servants would be the first to collect...Oshiomhole was notorious for owing salaries, Akpakomiza would basically be continuing from there. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 9:54am |
BlueRayDick:Forgive me if I'm disinclined to believe NPF doing any and everything, including framing suspects as long as it aligns with the demands of their higher-ups or those greasing their pockets. They as well could have been Obaseki's thugs, but considering the quality of weapons they had with them, it ties into my point of Obaseki being outgunned and outmanned by the baddest of bad boys in the build-up to the elections. Have you seen the kind of guns Tony Kabaka brandishes? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 8:09am |
folake4u:I swear, Edo State is basically going to be getting a much less effective version of Oshiomhole's mediocre governance. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 8:07am |
BlueRayDick:There's this too, but his government made it very clear he won't be working with bad boys, at least the most brazen of them, add this suppression from the federal might and you have what played out. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 8:01am |
Itsrm:Lol, you think APC Nationals want a message sent to them or care what message you want sent to them? They're sending a message to you! Nigeria as is, is a socially engineered experiment on state capture, the Edo election is one of many more that will be stolen, and APC would come out after those heists and say see, we're loved, if we're not loved we won't be winning...and if for any reason they choose to concede on some elections, they'd say see, we're not rigging it's mind fvck to the nth degree, you know everything is wrong but the state manufactures evidence to tell you nothing is wrong and whatever suffering you're going through is towards greatness. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 7:35am |
BlueRayDick:Wike has the streets on hold and you can see he's been using that to full effect...what will be Obaseki's leverage abeg? Abi you didn't see how he was chased out of collation center like a leper by their Tony Kabaka and his boys? Even though I get why he was saying that Do and Die thing, it was very funny to see the full extent of his Do and Die...I thought him saying that would have meant he had his own bad boys ready to go toe to toe election day, but apparently na the nerds, civil servants and softies e pack full body since e wan use run Do and Die |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 7:30am |
BlueRayDick:With guys like Tunde Bakare and Wole Soyinka, very easy to see why Nigerian's are cynical about people preaching change and whatnot. For Bakare, he seems to have been cut off from the spoils, and everything he preached against then worse has been done by the guys he got in bed with...he can't speak now cause he got in too deep and any attempt to speak they'd play his tapes for him and rub him potopoto sharp sharp. Soyinka in that has first fascist essay made it clear he has no belief in the Nigerian state/dream, and would rather everyone does their own thing...I want to believe that explains his sentiments for the Emi Lo Kan/Yoruba Lo Kan he's lined up behind, it's understandable. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 7:16am |
BlueRayDick:Obaseki would have never successfully pulled off godfather, he didn't have the streets on chokehold enough to do that. Besides if e wan do Godfather, is it with a candidate that's roughly same age as him, arguably more accomplished professionally, and better perceived and like than him, that even those that campaigned against AI are still having to make clear that they have no issues with him per se, their issues were with Obaseki. Asue Ighodalo was supposed to be a continuation of Edo accomplished professionals taking reins of the affairs of the state (Obaseki - AI), that's what it looked like, and that's what Obaseki said too, even some of the Edo's I saw online sticking their necks out for AI solidified that impression. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 7:11am |
BlueRayDick:2022 to 2024 is a long time, overtime got more informed on where he was channeling his effort towards and personally had reason to visit health facilities and government ministries in the state. When I made mention of streetlights et al...that's what I mean by the low-hanging fruits...street lights, a clean looking city, roads, landscaping...the sort of things that would immediately strike you in the face when you come to a city to make you feel like work's being done here. Those are very important, so too are the things he chose to channel energy towards, I just think he should have found a way to sort of balance things, but he didn't seem to be someone that cared how he was perceive, just wants to do focus on what he wants to focus on. Obaseki's first tenure was him having to go through the sort of SIM Fubara situation, so maybe you can say there was too much going on for him to really implement his ideas properly, so in a sense his government sort of kicked off in his second term. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 11:08pm On Sep 22 |
Amigoss:The people that have been celebrating on the thread don't care whether roads get fixed or not, if you like drag them with the party's inevitable failure from today till tomorrow, dawan no concern them. Ask them now why they've been celebrating since morning and they'd tell you that they told you Tinubu knows how to build party more than any other politician...you'd tell them the man is building party at their expense, and the best you'd get from them is some incoherent babble Civil servants ate good under Obaseki, na dem go miss am pass...he did some good work in the education, entertainment, tourism, ICT and to some extent, health...you're right on him failing in road construction, he missed too many low hanging fruits, the sort of things that'd hit you in the face as pertains governance...his disregard for optics was always an issue, and probably the source of the many battles he found himself fighting. |

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 9:52pm On Sep 22 |
liveLongNprospa:He pissed off touts like Kabaka and rogue politicians like Oshiomhole... Probably should have been more diplomatic especially with issues pertaining to the palace, but it's what it is, he'd be alright so too would Asue Ighodalo. The people who won't be alright are those who'd suffer misgovernance from the state and the federal government. |
