Politics / Oshimili South PDP Aspirants Threatens Legal Action Against PDP Over Imposition by UYCO: 12:04pm On Jan 19, 2021
A COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE END OF A MEETING OF OSHIMILI SOUTH PDP CHAIRMANSHIP ASPIRANTS HELD AT ASABA ON 17TH JANUARY 2021

PREAMBLE:
The controversy sourounding the failure of Oshimili South PDP to conduct a primary election to produce the flag bearer of the party in the local government election slated for March 6th 2021 has become a source of concern to PDP faithfuls in council area particularly the youths who constitute about 70% of party members in the local government. Prior to the release of electoral guidelines by the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission, six chairmanship aspirants have indicated interest to contest the chairmanship position under the Peoples Democratic Party and they include: The immediate past chairman of the council, Comrade Uche Osadebe, the Vice chairman, Hon. Sunny Obi, Ebeodi Eluaka, Tobe Okonkwo, Darlinton Ijieh and Obi Kelvin Ezeyinly.
All six aspirants have consulted widely among party stakeholders and openly declared there intention to the party at their various ward levels.
However, the clandestine move of the party chairman in the LGA to impose an aspirant on the people without a primary election led to the secrete release of a single nomination form to the said aspirant thereby denying other five aspirants of their inalienable right to contest for the chairmanship which is a gross violation of the party's constitution and the electoral act as amended.
These undemocratic actions which is unprecedented in the history of local government election in Oshimili South PDP has necessitated a meeting of all Oshimili South PDP chairmanship aspirants with a view to taking a position on the matter and calling on the appropriate authority to disregard any name submitted by Oshimili south PDP untill nomination forms are sold to other five PDP chairmanship aspirants and a primary election is duly conducted to select a flag bearer for the party.
OBSERVATION:
The following observations were made by the chairmanship aspirants at the meeting:
1. In exercising our inalienable right to vote and be voted for as enshrined in the constitution of the party, the electoral act and the 1999 constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria as ammended, we have consulted widely among party stakeholders and beyond and we have indicated our interest to vie for the chairmanship position of Oshimili South local government through our great party , the People's Democratic Party.
2. We have equally met all the criteria for contesting the election under the People's Democratic Party and the DESIEC guidelines for local government Chairmanship election.
3. At no time did all of us who are aspiring for the chairmanship position agree to step down for Obi Kelvin Ezeyinli
4. The Sale of a single nomination form to only one aspirant in an LGA with six aspirants is an affront on our nacent democracy and a desecration of our party that was founded on the principle of impecable electoral values and constitutional democracy.

RESOLUTION
After an extensive deliberation on the subject matter, the following resolutions were made:
1. That the LGA chapter of the party should commence the sale of nomination forms to all aspirants aspiring for the position within seven days.
2. All actions taken in respect of the Chairmanship election by the party should be cancelled pending when a primary election is conducted.
3. That the state Independent Electoral Commission should disregard whatever name submited to it by Oshimili South PDP as candidate of the party because as it stands, the PDP has not yet produce a candidate in Oshimili South.
4. The state Working committee should equally disregard the puported primary election and direct the LGA chapter to conduct a primary election within seven days.
5. His Excellency Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa who is the leader of the party in the state should
urgently intervene on the matter to save the party in the LGA from losing the 2023 election as a result of these undemocratic tendencies.
6. The party stand the risk of not participating in the election if a primary election is not conducted to determine the flag bearer of the party.
7. Finally, we will be left with no other option than to approach the court to seek redress if our demands are not met within seven days.
Signed:
1. Comrade Uche Osadebe
2. Hon. Sunny Obi
3. Ebeodi Eluaka
4. Tobe Okonkwo
5. Darlinton Ijieh.
Politics / PDP May Lose Oshimili South In 2023 As N35million Endorsement Tears Party Apart by UYCO: 3:00am On Dec 28, 2020
PDP MAY LOSE OSHIMILI SOUTH IN 2023 AS N35 MILLION NAIRA ENDORSEMENT TEARS PARTY APART
The wholesale endorsement of the younger brother of Mr. Chinedu Ezinyili aka Chinedu Okoh as chairmanship candidate of the PDP in exchange for N35 million naira is currently brewing crises in the party ahead of the forth coming local government election slated for March 6th 2021. A source in the meeting where the money was shared confirmed to us that the sum of N35million was handed over to a chieftain of the party (name withheld) to share to elders of the party for the procurement of the endorsement in favour of his younger brother who he equally arranged an emergency marriage for few days ago to prepare him for the chairmanship position. It was gathered that some of those who collected the money were however skeptical that Chiedu Okoh want to rule the LGA by proxy because the said younger brother has no experience about governance. According to our source, Mr. Obi Kelvin has never done anything in his life by himself. It was Chiedu Okoh that gave him everything he has in his life including the emergency wife that he married for him last week Friday. They claimed that Chiedu Okoh is a business man who want to add Oshimili south local government to his business empire and the youths of the LGA will never allow that to happen. If he wants to contest election, he should subject himself to primary election. Meanwhile, Oshimili south youths movement have cautioned PDP elders against imposition of chairmanship candidate on the people after collecting a whopping sum of N35 million. In a statement signed by its coordinator Mr. Michael Okafor, the youths vowed that PDP will lose Oshimili south in 2023 if the party does not conduct a free and fair primary election where all aspirants will be given a level playing ground to contest. They noted that democracy is a government of the people and since the youths are majority in the LGA, they should be allowed to have a say in the leadership recruitment process. They applauded the inculbent chairman Comrade Osadebe for his developmental stride in the past three years . They equally supported his refusal to share the LGA allocation to those old men parading themselves as party elders. According to them , the allocation is meant for the development of the LGA and its people, not for sharing to leaders.
Meanwhile, there are indication that the people of Asaba have finally settled for Osadebe and his vice chairman Mr. Sunny Obi. This option was said to be the outcome of a dialogue reached by politicians from Asaba, Okoh and Okwe community. Asaba people unanimously chose Osadebe over Chinedu Okoh's younger brother because the inculbent has only 3years to spend before handing over to an Asaba indigene, Unlike Chinedu Okoh's younger brother who will likely contest for second term and deprive Asaba people the opportunity for a long time. According to an indigene who spoke to us on condition of anonimity, if Chinedu Okoh Can dolla out N35 million to procure ticket for his brother when he has not annexed the local government as part of his business empire, he will be willing to doll out N100 million to procure a second term ticket for his brother when he finally annex the LGA as part of his business empire. It is in light of the above that the people of Asaba decided to settle for Osadebe/Sunny Obi with a view to preparing ground for an Asaba indigene to take over from Osadebe in the next 3years. Oshimili south youths are equally accusing the DOP Mr. Ifeanyi Eboigbe as the one behind the problem in Oshimili south.

if 5 credits is the problem, the federal government should equate those who have above 5 O level credits in one sitting to BSC level. I know majority of HND holders have above 5 o level credits

the training is good and very useful to technological development of the nation but since the nation deliberately refuse to develop technologically, we have to move on with our lives. There appears to be a gang up of the entire university system against polytechnic education in their selfish bid to make university to monopolize the educational system.
Education / Re: High BP :FG Move To Scrap Polytechnic And HND To Save Nigerians by UYCO: 9:50pm On Apr 27, 2017
the structures should be used by the nearest university and those lecturers and non academic staff can be useful there too. HND now kills faster than AIDS. High BP every where. You hardly see any HND holder in the civil service that is happy.

A call on the Federal government to reduce mortality rate by scrapping HND and Polytechnic. It is obvious that the FG is not interested in technical education

FG should scrap hnd, we have above 5credits if that is the reason for discrimination. how can I waste five years off my age studying to get HND only to be treated like an SSCE holder. FG should scrap HND and polytechnic now. The name polytechnic alone increases my BP whenever it is mentioned. Help to save the life of unsuspecting students who don't know the level of discrimination in the civil service. It is better to remain an ssce holder than to waste your time energy, money to read for five years and even spend additional year on youth service only to be grouped together with Ssce holders, NCE and ND in the same cadre. This is inhuman.

majority of those who have high BP in the civil service are HND holders. it is most annoying when you see those over pampered children with BSC who can't write a simple official letter claiming superiority over you.
Politics / Re: Your HND, What Next? by UYCO: 8:20pm On Apr 24, 2017
One is trained to conceptualize an idea, the other is trained to transform the idea already conceptualized into finished goods that is marketable. We already have conceptualize ideas in the form of design of various equipment across the globe. All that a developing country like Nigeria need to survive is to transform those existing design into finished goods. That is where the HND holder takes the lead. That is what China did. Trump said it several times that whatever is designed in America is produced in China. They started production of GSM phones in UK, us, hungary etc. China picked up those design, reproduce them and improved on them. The so called China phone is now dominating others in the market

Please read my submission again, I didn't say they are the same . The course orientation is different but BSC is not superior to HND. that is my position. I am an engineering graduate, I know the course content of BSc and that of HND. HND is not the same as BSC and BSC is not the same as HND. if x is not equal to y, y is not also equal x. The implication of that statement is that they have different role to play based on training. That is not to say one is superior to the other.
Politics / Re: Your HND, What Next? by UYCO: 6:07pm On Apr 24, 2017
If you observe carefully, the crap above is an agglomeration of views expressed by different persons in support of the superiority theory of BSC holders over their HND counterpart which has become outdated and baseless. It is the uncertainty that becloud the future of "unskilled" degree holders in the wake of the move by the house of rep to pass the bill seeking to abolish the dichotomy that is causing them to put up this kind of denigrating write up in their vain attempt to prove their superiority theory. In the past, they used to anchor their baseless argument on admission requirement of 5 o level credit but since we demystified them with proof that most HND holders have above 5 credits in one sitting while most university graduates combine two results to make up 5 credits, they have resulted to this cheap blackmail above. Why do universities admit HND holders for masters if they feel the certificate is grossly below BSC level as claimed?
Politics / Re: Your HND, What Next? by UYCO: 5:46pm On Apr 24, 2017
One major reason why hnd is more difficult to obtain than BSC is that BSC is just theory based (read cram and deposit then forget) while HND is application based. you need to read the theory, understand it and learn how to apply it to practically solved world problems which include production. One cannot go into the laboratory and carry out practicals without learning the theory involved. Those asserting that university graduates are more intelligent are lieing to themselves not me. The simple logic to expose them is to make both HND and BSC graduates sit for promotion examination. The out come will surprise many who hitherto think that university graduates are better. The rhetorics above are baseless. It is a reflection of the decay in our educational system and the fear that BSC and HND parity could put BSC holders at the back seat in the vehicle of technological development.

BSc holders in engineering and technology will be totally useless in a post oil economy. Give HND holders their place of pride, we will not bring foreigners to build modular refineries in Nigeria. Note that most local refineries in the Niger Delta are built by HND holders.
Politics / Re: Your HND, What Next? by UYCO: 5:23pm On Apr 24, 2017
university degree is not in any way superior to HND. HND is technologically oriented while BSC is a theory based training. on issue of admission requirement, most HND holders have 8 credits in one sitting. In a post oil economy, BSC holders will become useless.

Polytechnic education is the key to technological development .Until we learn to recognize polytechnic graduates like their university counterparts ,Nigeria will continue to rely on importation of foreign goods.

Nigerians are not fools. No matter what you think Buhari has done , Nigerians have decided to punish PDP for wasting our resources for 16 years . We cannot go back to Egypt , it is better to live without bread and wait on the lord for a better economy than return back to Egypt (PDP) where we are coming from.

@omaguibu , your level of reasoning is too poor. if you are asked in an examination to explain the reason why Nigerian economy is in recession , you will mention Buhari who has barely spent 2 years in office. How many new refineries were built during the 16 years of PDP misrule? what is the level of technological development in Nigeria during the wasted 16 years of maladministration by PDP?

I am happy that Nigerians are reacting negatively against reno Omokri's comment against polytechnic graduates . I copied this from his wall on Facebook
Sir, I wouldn't agree much on this: that the incompetence of Kemi Adeosun is largely derived from her being a graduate of the polytechnic. Any other graduate from any other known University of this world could have also made blunders . The truth of the matter is that the finance Ministry is much more higher than any graduate even with a first class in Management and finance . It would be ludicrous to make an Accounting graduate the Accountant General of the Federation. It's also calling for disaster making making an LLB graduate the Chief Justice of the Federation! The Finance Ministry demands more working experience beyond just being an ordinary graduate. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala excelled in our nation's Finance Ministry not just because she was a 'witch' of the Bretonwood but also because she had other certificates and a PhD in the relevant field. Sir, your taking a swipe and dressing down the Minister on the grounds of being a Polytechnic graduate, does not really follow. I got my Diploma in Mass Communications from a polytechnic in Nigeria and once knocked the spots off all the Nigerian University students in 1991 and won a national award (first position) in a national Essay competition. Of course, the one that took the 2nd position came from UNILAG. Wasn't this great? However ,I proceeded to the University and came out with a second class upper (2.1) in Criminology. In my class majority had a third class. This proved that institution does not count or better still, it plays an infinitesimal part, vis - a - vis one's intelligence and academic output. In the UK, some Polytechnics (colleges of Technology) as you know, do issue PhDs. Are their economy so bad like ours ? Their economies are managed by technocrats from the Polytechnics. It's only unfortunate that the periphery nations hardly key in to the full benefits and utilization of " poly techniques" to turn things around. Names of institutions of learning do not create intelligences in one but nature, one's teachers and one's personal efforts in achieving excellence do sir.

When I said making a polytechnic graduate Finance Minister will ruin our economy APC E-agents attacked me. ₦516 to $1 proves I am right! Kemi Adeosun graduated from the Polytechnic of East London which was later upgraded to university status in 1992 AFTER She had graduated and was renamed University of East London. Specialized ministries like finance need your very best. I know those who went to polytechnics will feel insulted and I apologize but it is better feel insulted than to be broke and when you have ₦516 to $1, you are broke . RENO OMOKRI, YOU ARE A FOOL. Reno Omokri also known as Beaf should be reminded that Patience Jonathan and her husband are not HND holders . HND holders are not responsible for the failure of PDP in 16 years. HND holders are not also responsible for the crisis in PDP . Those who stole dollars and put it in septic tank are not HND holders . To put your frustration on HND holders is the most foolish thing you have done in 2017.

Career / Re: Environmental (environmental Technologist, safety Etc):lets Meet Here by UYCO: 8:56pm On Sep 03, 2016
Environmental engineering is a major in civil engineering department. It is a very interesting course. The major problem is that it has not been properly integrated into the scheme of service in government. It's definition in the scheme of service is ambiguous. It is regarded as sewerage engineering and civil engineers are made to take up up their job. For the guy who study safety technology, I doubt if you will be able to study environmental engineering. In as much as safety is closely related to environmental engineering, the course is more of civil engineering courses which you may not have done. Unless you will have to do top up in certain core areas if the University will allow that.
