Point of correction. Yoruba do not own Lagos, and I suspect you already know that history. Now, that being out of the way, there are Yorubas all over the Southeast and South-south hustling for their lives without let or hindrance.
And, this is still Nigeria. A federal republic where Yoruba shares in Southeast and South-south oil and Gas revenue.

ScamHunter: Without much ado, let's start:
Tinubu should know that his chances at clinching the presidency is as likely as a shot at the moon with a bow and arrow. It is so obvious considering that the North has practically preempted him as a modern day Afonja that should be used and discarded.
Point one: We all witnessed how all the northerners in the PDP, Atiku, Tambuwal, Bala Mohammed, Saraki, et al quickly switched allegiance to APC to grab power from Goodluck Jonathan. That is exactly what will happen if Tinubu or any other southerner wins APC nomination. Buhari and co will move behind the scene to back Atiku, the way Atiku and others in PDP backed him to victory in 2015.
Point two: When Tinubu declared to run for presidency, his chances was 80%. Wjhen Buhari and the cabal started scheming, his chances reduced to 35%, when Atiku won nomination for PDP, Tinubu's chances dropped to 5%.
Remedy:
Tinubu should act quick and act smart. The northerners will NEVER back him against Atiku. Neither will the Southerners back him since we all see him as a betrayer. But it is not too late to redeem his battered image. Even his wife said that he was sidelined by the north immediately Buhari won. That should have taught him a lesson that a Fulani will never back a Yoruba man. Obasanjo was a mistake of fate.
So my advice for Tinubu is to quickly deop his dead ambition and help mobilize for Peter Obi, the only southerner that realistically stands a chance of clinching the presidency, based on competence and nationwide acceptability. Every sensible person in this country already knows that it is calamitous that in the 21st century that a Tinubu and an Atiku are still options as leaders.
Tinubu should collapse his structure and join the Labour party, while President Peter Obi should reward Tinubu as the Minister of Agriculture. That way, the nation will benefit us all. Tinubu, like Peter Obi, is a very intelligent and smart man. Unfortunately, his inordinate ambition for power at the center is clouding his better judgment as we speak. All he needs to do at this time is sit down and have a conversation with the Labour party leadership. I'm confident they will find a way to accommodate his interest in a trade-off for his political structure. This is politics. No different to what we just witnessed with the PDP in Abuja. That synergy will effectively collapse APC and make it impossible for PDP to win the 2023 polls. He is not new to grassroots politics, having acquired that experience from his Nadeco days. A man has to count for something, and it is that time again. Will he listen?. |
Politics › Re: Abubakar Atiku & Peter Obi In A Political Plot. by 00FFT00(m): 5:05pm On May 30, 2022 |
MetaPhysical: 1. PDP Presidential aspirant Peter Obi attended the public announcement and supported Atiku to declare his Presidential ambition.
2. Just few days to PDP primary, aspirant Peter Obi stepped out of PDP Presidential primary and resigned membership.
3. Aspirant Atiku won PDP Presidential primary and was declared party flag bearer.
4. Peter Obi sent a congratulatory letter to Atiku.
5. Aspirant Obi crossed to Labor party. At its presidential primary another aspirant, Pat Utomi stepped down for Obi to win and become Labor party flag bearer.
Atiku has learnt from 2019 not to underestimate APC and its use of incumbent power to sweep opponents away. In particular, APC used cross-party alliance with SDP's Iyiola Omisore to edge Senator Adeleke out of gubernatorial victory in Osun.
SDP, Labor and APGA are strong in South.
Using strengths in Labor (his new party after PDP) and APGA (his old party before PDP), Obi can steer votes to Atiku and run him across the margins of victory should 2019 repeat itself.
Atiku is using one stone to kill two birds - 1. Dilute grass root politics in South so SDP does not become a formidable contender. Infact, SDP introduced Atiku to politics back in 1998.
He is using Obi to throw this kill. Hence Obi's actions lately.
2. Influence APC primary to nominate an underdog candidate.
APC Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu is from NE, same region with Atiku, and an ex-Chairman of PDP under Goodluck Jonathan, who is being wooed to cross from PDP into APC and enter primary race.
Now, Atiku must choose a Christian South for VP. He could end up calling Peter Obi to deputize for him, but he will not do so ahead of APC primary.
Net-Net, PDP is going for NE muslim/SE christian. I wonder how you sat yourself down and spewed the above nonsense. What makes you think Peter Obi is a man devoid of principle like most Nigeria politicians?: For your information, Mr. Obi was clearly offered the vice-presidential position before he resigned his membership in PDP. Shows how much you're clued in on happenings around the subject you seek to speak on. |

eeetuk: Why Peter Obi Withdrew His Candidacy Hours Before PDP Presidential Primary. By eeetuk. Mr. Peter Obi’s withdrawal from PDP presidential primary hours before the contest began was intended to damage former vice President Atiku Abubakar chances and pushed someone else to defeat Mr. Abubakar, this according to multiple sources familiar with the situation. This news of Mr. Obi’s strategy was leaked out by someone in Mr. Obi’s campaign—who according to report, passed the communique to Mr. Abubakar campaign. Last hours, many staff from Atiku campaign are now thanking Mr. peter Obi staffer--who leaked the communique and has worked for vice president Atiku campaign as well in 2019.
Multiple sources said after Peter Obi withdrew his candidacy, he secretly endorsed Rivers State governor, Mr. Wike. The hope by Mr. Obi was that if all his supporters voted for governor wike, it would be difficult for Mr. Atiku Abubakar to win PDP presidential primary. Following this development, Vice president Atiku Abubakar reached out to Sokoto state governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal for help. That is why governor Tambuwal withdrew his candidacy at the last minutes and ordered his supporters to support Mr. Atiku Abubakar as a counter response, according to sources knowledgeable of the situation. And it worked.
In 2019, former vice President, Atiku Abubakar selected Peter Obi as his running mate. And the ticket lost to Mohammadu Buhari in a contest considered marred by frauds. So, why did Peter Obi dropped out of the race to harm Mr. Atiku Abubakar chances? The short answer is Peter Obi did not want Atiku in the race because he will hurt his own chances. So, stay tune for more on this developing story---------------------- Una see wetin joblessness dey cause?. |

TheOldGods: South East doesn't give much numbers take a look at this 2011. Anambra is promising Peter obi doubt the numbers 3million votes.
We should stop all this. It's the time of the southeast. Every south should support Peter obi, after 8 years then we rotate and support the sW. I don't know why this is so hard. If we extrapolate and analyze the data contained in the dataset you presented in regards to the 2011 presidential election in Nigeria, one wonders where our southwest brothers manufacture all the numbers they bandy around when they choose to lie against Igbos. According to the data contained herein: Total votes cast ( Southeast) Abia 1.185.574 Anambra 1.153.904 Ebonyi 497.025 Enugu 808.763 Imo 1.406.289 --------------- 5.051.555Total votes cast ( Southwest) Oyo 836.550 Osun 498.734 Ondo 480.260 Ogun 529.355 Lagos 1.907.815 Ekiti 306.161 ---------------- 4.558.874The data shows that out of the total 9.610.429 votes cast in both geographical regions, the southeast had the upper hand. And that is by nearly half a million votes cast thus: - 492.681What has so drastically changed demographically since then?. And we must accept that the votes in Lagos and indeed the rest of southwest states contain votes cast by Igbos and counted in those states. Therefore, I think we need to always speak from a position of information, not casual wishful beer parlor thinking. |

But they way they are insulting us, they would end up losing lots of supporters in southwest and ss If you pretend that you don't know the nuisance some Yorubas have constituted themselves into that necessitates the backlash you refer to, then you are being economical with the truth. Tinubu's foray into presidential politics has further balkanized the fragile southern unity even amongst the Yoruba themselves. You cannot expect people to accommodate all manner of nonsense from some Yorubas for political expediency. I say some because I know that it is not every Yoruba man or woman that harbors this mindset. An amalgamation of Igbo and Yoruba collective objectives would've saved us the stomachache bedeviling all of the southern people, but some of us chose to elevate the same ethnic politics that has not achieved anything for us as a group. For every southerner who wishes to remain a fulani slave, there's an equal number of us who want liberation from this servitude. God willing, we will prevail. |

Dsalvo: Just look at how your elderly leaders like Kalu, Ngige, Umahi etal are disgracing themselves to know even elders amongst Igbos, like you, cannot be expected to have wisdom.
In your idiotic and hateful desperation to malign the SW you dare mention the North? Same North that took over from GEJ, after a few years of Yaradua, to get 8 years through Buhari?
Yet the very same region is currently angling uncompromisingly today to get another 8 years from 2023 through Atiku, Tambuwal, Kwankwaso and many others!!!
That does not bother you hate-filled clowns at all. Afterall you can take all manners of humiliation from your slave masters.
Umahi confessed he decamped from PDP because he knew the Party had no intention of being fair to Igbos yet no anger about thst revelation from any Igbo. It is always Yoruba this and Yoruba that!!!
You should tell us why the great Igbo hope Obi left PDP if not that the North has shown him that the PDP ticket is only for a Northerner regardless of what Obi or any other Southerner does.
You people are not livid with that development with Obi yet everything is about Yoruba "wrongdoing" alone for you insufferable hate-mongers.
Yorubas really need to wise up and start detaching themselves from Igbos. You lot are too malevolently and unobjectively hateful of the Yoruba people to even be near us.
Only a foolish and highly ignorant Yoruba will not know the truth about Igbos in this day and age and with all that virtually every single Igbo has been showing since Tinubu and Osinbajo declared to run under the APC, as they are fully entitled to, and with no prominent Yoruba running under the PDP.
I am even surprised you children of hate, whether young or elderly, have not started a thread blaming Yorubas for Obi and Abaribe's decision to leave PDP. You're a very dishonest fellow. Who connived with Buhari to truncate Goodluck Jonathan's government?. Who is now asking for the APC presidential ticket on account of this perfidious behavior?. Yoruba wholesale betrayed a southern government because of your hate for the Igbo. Jonathan is not Igbo. He is an Ogbia man, but Yoruba would tell everyone and their aunt that his government is an Igbo regime. Yoruba, make shame catch una small at the least. That you all come here to lie is clear to all and sundry, but your ability to do so while claiming victim depicts your ethnic group as sadists, and you will be rightly called out as such. |

Look at a so-called Mr know-all always sounding like a primary 6 pupil.
The truth is that Peter Obi realized that Wike and Atiku were going to use stolen dollars to bribe delegates instead of supporting their best chance at winning the election. They couldn't rise above their personal selfish interests for the common good of the party.
All those army of youths across Nigeria that saw Peter Obi as their new hope are going to descend heavily on PDP same with Igbos that saw Peter Obi as their chance to rule Nigeria.
Since this charlatan who goes about arrogating to himself as Mr know-all doesn't even know basic common sense, then it shows how senseless and delusional he is. Absolutely correct! Atiku and Wike have always and will continue to play money politics. They will buy up men of no value and conscience against those who came out to work for the interest of Nigeria and her people. Politics and campaign finance in Nigeria follow the same pattern of corrupt practices that pervades the land. This is what Peter Obi stands against, therefore, acquiescing to that politics will declare him as a hypporite.
