Doesn't matter,, as far as he gave in to something he shouldn't have.. If he was trying to help he could have driven the guy to a hospital to go get prescription... Here in the USA the police lure child sex offenders through Internet, only to charge them later and imprison them.. 6 Likes |

The day ignarance becomes an acceptable defence under the law, thats the day I would start to havve mercy on him.. PHARMACY 101: Thou shall not sell prescription drugs to ANYBODY without a valid Doctors Prescription.. PHARMACY 101 (section 2): Thou shall not sell drugs with fatal overdose side effect to minors.. He isnt guilty of Murder, but of definitely of 'willfull misconduct', and 'negligible homicide'.. The Prosecution could also file charges of 'negligible manslaughter' against him, but definitely not MURDER 1. 10 Likes |

This Doesn't Surprise Me At All. I already knew the investigative process involving the capture of Late Cynthia's murderers will not go unscripted by the Nigerian police who are so "Good" in their jobs they could also work as part-time script-writers for Nollywood movies. Nigerian police are bunch of incompetent and untrained fools, i said it before that parading these medicine sellers as murderers is the height of police inhumanity to Nigerians. Since there is no proof that the pharmacists collaborated in the murder why charge them for a crime they did not commit. What i expected police to do is to raid every other pharmacy store and arrest those selling prescription drugs without doctors recommendation. I advice Police to charge the pharmacists with the proper crime they committed or get ready to prove there case beyond all doubt. 1 Like |

If its true then i think it's very irresponsible of the police. While they're at it, why not also charge the hotel owners for failing to check and register the ID'S of the murderers when they booked in or the Ribena seller for not issuing a receipt for the Ribena they used in killing her. Its just stupid to charge someone for Murder for this, not even manslaughter, Murder! Very very stupid 9 Likes |

I hate 2 see an innocent person suffer unjustly.. Let the position of our law be knwn on this. Wt I think u shld b calling for is an interpretation of Nonso's role if its against our laws and wt is the penalty for his actions.. Eg if he ws negligient in selling controlled drugs without prescription, wt is the penalty. 1 Like |

There might be more than meet the eyes in this case, Pharmacists have been strongly warned not to sell controlled drugs without doctors prescription. Compassion might not be excused. You might need to check with an experienced Lawyer that can make a case for him. Social Media won't help at this time because it is through the same medium the poor girl died 2 Likes |

I don't support him being labeled as an accomplice if he didn't sell the drugs to cynthia's killers but that doesn't change the fact that he didn't do the right thing. Yeah he was being sympathetic and all, now how many more people is he willing to help in that same manner? What's the guarantee that if another person comes crying and begging, he (nonso) wouldn't sell without prescription all in the name of sympathy? There are so many ways to help people without doing the right thing in a wrong way, btw its not news that many pharmacists sell such drugs without a doctors prescription, maybe nonso was just unlucky. 1 Like |

@OP,in as much as we all knw for a fact that Nigerian police are highly corrupt & evil,i defer to say that ur friend is nt totally innocent of his involvement in the crime @hand becos there's no smoke witout fire, even if the so killers don't mention him,it's possible he has sold such to them in the past b4 now or has done a dirty deal wit them in the past nt necessarily in Cynthias' case.lastly what do u call professional ethics-u don't comprise for any reason even by the NMA & Pharmceutical Ass. constitutions u're not supose to do ur job base on emotions or greed, rememba there's no ignorance in the law & with the heat on board i fear that u friend is in deep shit...don't vouch for any1 even ur father cos humans are very dynamic & can change @ anytime.my little cent 1 Like |

Again I ask; wt is the penalty for selling controlled drugs to a person without prescription? I knw dt constitute negligience. Any member of the pharmacitcal association of nigeria here shld pls tell us so that we knw what this negligient young Man shld be facing as penalty. Who shld reprimand him? The police or the association in which he is a member? |
Re: Nonso-Maduakor Wrongfully Charged For Cynthia's Murder by djeezy(m): 3:54pm On Aug 29, 2012 |
Firstly I think selling of the drug is illegal whether you are selling out of pity or sub rosa. Mere being in possesion of it may not be illicit for a pharmacist, that was why the police got him to sell the drugs instead of searching the drug store. A case relating to murder is a very serious one and I doubt if they will grant him bail.He will be charged for aid and abet, criminal offence. Like someone suggested ab initio, get a lawyer. |

@ the OP Just because a wrong doer is your friend does not make the wrong right. Do you feel any sympathy for the victim at all. The police must have some information and knew where to look for the supplier of the drug to the murderous gang who are plainly animals no matter what tribe they are from. I got really angry reading your post, typical Nigerian me and my family mentality. The victim was also a friend to somebody yet those waste holes got drugs from some lowlife pharmacist and put her through hell just because of money. 1 Like |

Yeah, let's not in our haste to punish d culprits of this heinous crime, convict an innocent person or overlook any shoddy investigation dat may av bn done.D guy may av made an error of judgement, selling a prescription drug, without a doctor's prescription, for which he shd b charged;but if indeed he wasn't so identified or had almost bn coerced into selling by d police, den a second look @his case by a more competent & unbiased authority is necessary.Countless innocent pple av bn roped in for an offence dey know nothing by d d nigerian police,we shd not kp quiet in dis day of d social media& let dem continue getting away wt it bc some of dese innocents are voiceless. 1 Like |

I must say, GEJ is right about Nigeria not being ready for state police yet. You could imagine how much the virus of corruption will spread in the police force if it was segregated to the state level when stuff like this is already hapenning in the federal level. May God help Nonso & us all, amen. |

Yeah, go get a lawyer.his case should be presented and all legal loopholes should be used to his advantage if possible. He would be surprised that most lawyers may even be willingly to do it pro bono. |

two had their faces covered and two didnt. that got me thinking and when I heard the one wearing glasses is a pharmacist, I understood why. the Nigerian police should stop making innocent people suffer. Even though Nonso cant be termed innocent, his crime doesnt warrant what he must be going through. How many other people are facing the same problem?? how many are being labelled what they are not? our prisons must be filled with many Nonsos. 3 Likes |
