Aks: BREAKING: #UnityBank, the first listed lender on #Nigerian bourse to report HY1 2014 earnings - basic EPS of 18.49k vs 10.59k (HY1 2013). What effect will this on the stock? Like someone else pointed out on SMN, CBN has in the period reported eliminated several fee paying sources of income for the banks (e.g reduction in COT % etc) so there should be a bit of caution with taking the "impressive" Unity Bank figures hook line and sinker. After all these are "unaudited" results. #justsaying 1 Like |

http://businessdayonline.com/2014/07/fbn-insurance-to-launch-takeover-bid-for-oasis/?utm_source=&utm_medium=twitter#.U7VlbZO3PFo FBN Insurance will launch a bid next week to buy out the 28.8 percent minority stake in Oasis Insurance that it does not already own, in a deal valued at N 1.03 billion ($6.34 million). FBN Insurance, jointly owned by Nigeria’s FBN Holdings (65 % ) and South Africa’s Sanlam (35%), acquired a 71.2 percent stake in the motor and fire insurer in February. It will offer N 0.55 per share to buy the remaining 1.87 billion shares, the company said on Thursday. The buy-out process opens on July 10 and will last for three weeks, after which FBN Insurance intends to delist Oasis from the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE). Shares in Oasis were trading at N 0.50 on Thursday, giving the company a market capitalisation of N 4 billion. Sanlam has said FBN Insurance’s acquisition of the 71.2 percent Oasis stake gave it an entry point into the general insurance sector in Nigeria, Africa’s most populous nation. 1 Like |

Please has anyone had recent correspondence with Cardinal Stone Patners (Former City Securities Registrars). It's been very difficult for me to get them on phone and they don't respond to emails at all. I need to sort out some issues with them regarding my unclaimed dividends. |
