I left Samson at his own resident and headed home, thinkin about his health condition, his sadness and the pains he his passing through has at that time.
My mother knew the reason why i felt so bad about his eyes problems. My mother tried harder to made me forgot about the event that has happened to by best friend, yet i kept on feeling devastated.


"Prince i bought a t- shirt for you with the money. Here, take this remaining sum of money to buy your desired things for christmas."


She brought out 4000 naira and handed it over to me, while she arranged certain sum of money in her wrapper around her waist.
I was extremely glad happiness, and i felt like big boy because of 4000 naira cash. I displayed different characters that day, in fact the money has made me forgotten about my friend sickness. I quickly dug the amount into my pocket, pick up the shirt my mother gave me, and quickly dashed into my room to dress.


"chai.. oversize again ?. Why do mummy likes purchasing Deeperlife cloths for me?. I hate this cloth and i hate when people buy things that doesn't fit my stature." i had muttered complained ,while undressing


As soon as i survey it bigger than my body, i rapidly checked the T.shirt sized By the neck colla.
To my greatest Shock, it was 52 by sized, it length,everything.And in fact, even my Dad wouldn't like the sight of the shirt. i began gasping for air when i had checked because i was annoy. I remember when my mother bought same style of shirt and it was oversized. I sigh, hissed as i kindly and swiftly turned facing the door. I moved towards my bedroom door handle, pull it against myself and dashed out heading towards the parlour where my mother gave me the shirt. I went to give report concerning the cloth.


"whats wrong about the cloth i bought for you?, Whats wrong with the size too?." my mother barraged me with many questions after i had complaint.


"ehrmm, nothing is wrong mum, it just a gift to you."
" Pls, present it to any pastor around the hood. Tell them it a gift from PRINCE." i uttered sarcastically


my mother couldn't hesitated holding her smiling lips together, she bursted into laughter.
I later left my mum and walked into my bedroom to planned for the christmas. The following day was a big market day [UDUA Afiong-Etuk]. One of the finest and biggest marketing day. It was a little beat cloudy as the sun couldn't show openly, while hiding behind the cloud. I decided going out for shopping with only 4000naira to buy my already calculated choice.
Everywhere drained with water as crowd gather every corner to buy and sell. I went for what my money could afford when i approached the " BENT DOWN SELECT " section to purchased my liking. I bought 3 things in common; blak trouser ,waist belt and P-cap from that section i stood.
The following day was sunday and i prepared myself for church. The service was well organized as the church shown it beauty, because of too much fashion and highly cost furnitures. Miss Grace did pay for all my offerings, and swagging expenses. She gave me 1,000 for me to support a budgeting event that went on. Miss Grace also contributed some certain amount for me when i stood on stage to presented a song. Perhaps,i had no idea why that day was celebrated happily in the church till when dismissed from service by 4:00. pm, in the afternoon. It was christmas day as masquerade pursued people outside and blast of "KNOCK OUT" echoing in all corners.


"wait 00o. Am i still on this earth?. Which day xmas come land, or abi na dreams?." i'd questioned myself while cleaning my eyes to see well


Before i knew what was going on right at my front, i sighted a particular black masquerade adjustin to where Grace and i stood With force. We ran inside the church for escaped. Pastor called the attentions of all youth. Wel all sat down and he announced to us that youths shouldn't like watching cultural display masquerade, because it gonna show bad sign later.


"we should be careful on how we see things this month, it's too dangerous to christian life!"he instructed everyone.


"oga pastor drop those talks. If the masquerade doesn't accomplished it works by pursuing me, then am gonna chased it." i'd uttered in my heart.


Besides, the second time when we came out from the church, the masquerade was on where to be found around the church premises.
I later escorted Grace half distant because she was scared of masquerade and she never wanted meetin or sighting them on her way returning home.


"better visit me today for your gift,if you so much desire it." She mentioned and left


"okay ma'am.sorry Princesssss." i'd stressed her name rudely when she left.


I walked home smilin from within my heart as my swaggs drew the attentions of young area girls who came out to see masquerade,but they met me.
Some of them who knew me called my name and i waved at them in a gentleman character. Sooner the masquerade ran out from the bush wildly.
