SirShymex:

Yo, for your own health and to stay alive longer, size 20 is ridiculously big. And sometimes, we need to ditch pride when it comes to staying alive. If Big Pun had listened, he'd still be alive today...but he never did, hence we lost one of the greatest rappers to excessive fat and being over-weight.

It isn't about being "happy"(I believe happy in this context means being comfortable in your own skin). It's about being able to be perfectly functional, and maximising everything out of life, without jeopardising anything with saturated fat which can cause high cholesterol, and untimely death.
So sir, what is a size that isn't ridiculously big to you? And don't mention a size 10 cos I don't ever intend to be that slim again.
Re: The Agony Of A Nigerian Fat Girl by Romanciella(f): 8:02pm On Sep 02, 2014
selflessmaya: Oh pls! Slender girls are more flattering to look at.. Losing weight makes ppl look younger, get identical twin girls and fatten one up and let the other stay slim and you'll assume the fatter one is older cos fat just distorts facial feautures. I literally know a girl whose looks went from a 3 on a scale of 1-10 to a 9 just by losing weight, no one knew there was beauty hidden beneath her layers of lard until she put in work and shed the weight and she looked great and you could tell she felt better about herself and she became a total b!tch cos she could turn necks now so no one will hear word.. walahi fat chicks seem to be sweeter and have a better personality but that's cos of low self confidence, they know in the looks department they're not doing so great so they need extra extra personality to make up for what they lack, proof is, if you know a girl who used to be slim but later got fat when you meet her fat, she'll be a lot more humble and nice cos she's insecure and ppl might use her weight against her if she comes off as snobby.

I'm slender and I dont bash fat girls but there's a lot of skinny bashing occurring here and it's laughable cos most girls claiming self love secretely dont like the way they are. Truth is most fat chicks suffer silently cos of their weight and they wish they could do something about it and they can but they're unwilling to work hard to get what they want but they want quick fixes and diet pills.. NO ONE WANTS TO BE FAT, HO HA! Girls who claim to be happy with being fat have just settled and "accepted" their fat but with their so called happiness if one morning, they miraculously lose 20 pounds, they'll be overjoyed. True, Some girls want to have curves in all the right places but they dont want to be fat, they just want like a nicki minaj or kim k bod which isnt fat but curvy. More fat chicks want to lose weight than slim ones want to gain it, let's not fool ourselves. "wow, you've added o" or "wow, you've lost weight" true to God, which one will make a girl feel good, it's the 2nd cos no one wants to be fat. You hear weight loss success stories, why do u think the word "success" is there? Congratulations on your weight loss is more common than congratulations on getting fatter.

All the girls who love being fat here, pls do tell, when you sit do you not suck in that belle make shirt fine, huh? If you're so ok with it why hide it and wrap it delicately with girdles, even for men sef extra weight makes their kini look smaller, it's actually same size but it looks smaller cos of extra weight. Fat downplays good qualities, hides cheek bones, waist line, abs, collar bones and you look bloated most of the time. You get love handles, flabby arms, huge cheeks, your nose seems bigger, thunder thighs rub together and jeans rip faster, sweaty all the time and easily fatigued when climbing stairs etc. Look at Kim K when she got pregnant, no, not her body she was pregnant and she should be huge, look at her face, and see how ugly weight gain made a fine girl like her, she wasnt looking pretty at all even with extra effort from her make up artist she just wasnt stunning but after she lost the baby weight look at her now, the face wasnt designed to be fat.

And yes i agree, some men love meaty girls but even the "meaty" they like is thick like nicki minaj but we know proportions like hers are unreal and very rare to find in Nigeria so they just have to make do with what's available. No man even the so-called meat lovers would choose an Eniola Badmus over a Nicki minaj/Amber rose, men really dont want fat girls, they just want slim waist, (a55 and b00b5) which kinda comes with being fat and that's why they have to manage and mange the thick waist cos all join. Infact fat girls in Nigeria should feel blessed to live in a very fat tolerant country, i mean if you complain in fat-friendly Nigeria, just go to Europe or Asia or South America where fat ppl get dirty looks and you'll hate life. 98% of humans look better thinner, look at b4 and after weight loss pics, ppl always look better and younger in the after, some dont even resemble themselves sef. Too much denial on this thread abeg. LMAO at fat pride, una well done oh, dont choke on your meatpie sha.
wow #team slim# skinny gurls rock

Size 12 is like the perfect size...but size 14 isn't that bad with a toned body.

CharmO1: Having been on both ends of the scales: skinny with ribs sticking out (teen years) and my current size (size 20, stats 45-40-48), I can say a lot about size matters. My dears, it's an issue when you're overweight because people's first impression of you is: lazy glutton. We are the cause of our social and romantic problems.

Health: I've enrolled in the gym not cos I wanna lose weight but cos I began to feel lazy at some point. According to my mum, I used to "drag" myself about. But strangely enough, I added a bit of muscle, lost just a little fat, still weigh the same and feel much lighter than I used to. I run on the treadmill 1.5hrs three days a week. So it's good to be fit for health sake especially.

Diet: Truth be told, the eating habits of some fat people can make you puke. Why drink 50cl Pepsi when you can drink water which is better? Why eat three rolls of fufu when you can eat noodles and veggies? The worst scenario is at eateries. It's only fat girls who buy ice cream in tubs. When I walk into an eatery, I'm terribly conscious of what I buy not because of people but because of me. I hardly even eat at these fast food places cos the snacks are loaded with crazy calories. I prefer to eat at places that serve actual meals; they're more expensive but healthier. And please stop eating after 7pm.

Clothing: Now this is a big issue. Most of us fat ladies don't know just how to dress up. Why the hell would I squeeze myself into a Lycra dress and wear a pair of G-strings underneath? Just because a stick-thin girl wore it and looked good doesn't mean you'll look good as well. Clothes made with sturdy fabrics like cotton, gingham or denim sit better on a larger frame. They give structure. And one trick lots of fat ladies don't know is UNDERWEAR is key. I've always been a fan of corsets and maybe that's why my fat body has always had a certain shape to it all these years. Wear great underwear.

Poise: Funny enough, I used to manage pageant models back in university days. I had a team and we basically trained the girls on everything about pageants. One snotty lekpa biyatch was looking down at me cos of my size. But boy, was she shocked to see me don a pair of 6 inch heels and catwalk! To all my fattybombom sisters, please practise walking sexy and smart until it becomes part of you. When you waddle it makes men think that you're pregnant.

Character: It's better to have a beautiful heart than be beautiful. It takes a discerning mind to perceive a beautiful soul. Work on your character. Stop being judgmental. I know it's hard but it's do-able. I used to feel any man who talked to me was desperate or a user but when I changed that mentality I realized some men really don't mind you being fat. My cousin's sexy as hell model-thin wife told him to start using Viagra cos he wasn't performing to her standard (the biyatch was cheating). They say marrying a beautiful or handsome spouse is like cooking ofe owerri with your own pot in a public kitchen; people go wan stretch hand to taste am small. Marry someone with a good heart cos looks fade but good character stays forever.
In general, just package yourself well and leave the rest for God. Don't be a slob; take your bath, use good toiletries not Ausa perfume, keep teeth white and breath fresh. Smile more cos life's good. Love yourself and others will love you. And please my fatabulous sisters, stop biyatching our slimmer sisters. And to our slimmer sisters, stop looking down on fat chicas. After all, if marriage material was based on only looks, no slim girl go dey single but as the case maybe na slim girls dey go marriage prayers more in my church. Haå=)) ª"haª=D "håªh=)). Cheers.

Charm O - Fatshionista extraordinaire.
Fantastic post. Absolutely brilliant!

I for one don't like ice cream and chocolates. I don't know why. I never liked it right from childhood, and I doubt if I ever will. I prefer sour yoghurt. I also prefer good ol' mama put to fast food grin. And hell yeah, give me my fufu any day, any time. NOTHING can separate me from my white magic tongue

You mentioned poise and high heels in the same paragraph. I disagree with you. A lady can be elegant without necessarily wearing high heels, IMO.

chronic anorexia is not the same as being "slim"(which i endorse)... same way morbid obesity is not the same as being fat(which most ppl here are hyping)... no one is talking extremes here so pls serious points or dont quote me, i dont have time for nonsense. Well different strokes for different folks. If I ever attain that weight, I'll put up a photo. And quickly construct a weight loss scheme and rake in mega bucks.

Do the comparison with an healthy slim person and not the AIDS victim you displayed there.
Not AIDS. Anorexia. You wouldn't believe that both pictures are of the same person. The girl had a bad self image and went the route of anorexia. When we saw her last, she had added a bit of flesh but she is still not out of the woods. Still skeletal but who knows...

It is the societal pressure that can drive women to such extremes, especially if you don't have a heart as large as your body.

Never say never, and stay positive. Have you seen Jennifer Hudson and Fat Joe lately? - you need to follow their lead. Size 20 is just not it, and apart from health issues, I don't think any guy would find that attractive.

Anyway, as for me, I only mess with size 12 - slim and "plus sized" chics aren't on my radar. grin

Sunshinelady: toolz is not fat she is 'curvy'. Haba , a fat person is som1 like Eniola Badmus (wen she acted Jenifa, cos now she has slimmed down a bit sef)
Toolz is fat, that she wears appropriate clothes doesn't make her curvy, if you know the kind of nip/tuck she has to do to get her clothes looking that way, you go know say wahala dey.

Eniola Badmus is overweight, once a person's neck starts playing hide and seek, water don pass garri.

The appropriate example for curvy would be Peace Hyde. If you notice, her waist is cinched, this is a naturally slim waist, not the nip/tuck Toolz does:

Peace Hyde (curvy)

www.nairaland.com/attachments/1593415_20140801221727_jpega64eefc9e16cfd6d047fbcfa39635070

Toolz (fat)- her waist isn't cinched in, it's a bit wide and her stomach isn't flat either- just good packaging

Eniola Badmus (overweight)- there's no definition in her shape, no cinched waist AT ALL AND her neck is missing

my dear, you sound very pained and upset. Go and read what I wrote before you posted. My first point was on health. Painfully thin or morbidly obese isn't healthy. When you used the term "thinner" I was wondering if you literally meant it. I used the word "fat" which is rather general as people above a size 12 are termed plus size or fat in the US. Anyway, sometimes size 10/14 aren't too bad, depending on the person and other assets. However, size 12 is the ideal size.

she's shaped more like an anime character- perfect measurements.

That's what most guys want, but because it's rare especially in Nigeria) they settle for something along the Toolz/Mercy Johnson lane and assume that's curvy
